- Another Pokemon opening! This time the new Sword and Shield Battle Styles set!
Battle Styles is the name given to the fifth main expansion of the Sword & Shield Series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. In Japan, it was released as the Single Strike Master · Rapid Strike Master dual sets that make up the fifth expansion block in the Pokémon Card Game Sword & Shield Era. It is based on Pokémon Sword and Shield and The Isle of Armor Expansion Pass, featuring Generation VIII Pokémon and the Wushu Pokémon Urshifu in both of its forms. The Japanese expansion was released on January 22, 2021, and an English expansion will be released on March 19, 2021.
The Battle Styles expansion is the first expansion to feature two new variants of cards: Single Strike and Rapid Strike. Single Strike cards deliver powerful, hard-hitting attacks that can Knock Out an opponent in a single blow. Rapid Strike cards use sneaky, and technical attacks.

Am i the only one that absolutely loves that she describes the card art of the pokemon as she goes through them. Really relaxing and enjoyable compared to just flying through the cards and reading the names
Totally agreed. Most Pokémon centered youtubers just fly through them and only care about the pulls.

@@vkdeen7570 At the time I think the box was selling for $105... but the total doesn't include the value of all of the cards not highlighted throughout the video. Best rough guess is maybe ~$40-50 for the rest of them.

yea battle styles specifically has some horrible reprints

It happens to me sometimes. If that happens, I stop watching any ASMR for a few weeks and it comes back.
It’s funny cause I always get like ten minutes in then fall asleep and then have to come back and watch the vid again to see what you get😂

I'd contact pokemon if I were you. They were in a box and you have proof that they were like when opening the pack. I'm sure they can compensate the bent cards.
I don't know much past maybe generation V but I have to say the card opening videos are so very calming and soothing... And I learn about Pokemon again too.

At the risk of being a "back in my day" guy I've got a hot take; While I get Pokemon TCG is trying to innovate and keep the game fresh, the biggest changes to the cards (way more HP, way more damage done, way more powerful trainers, VMax Pokemon, now these new Single Strike cards) make the game less fun. The fact that all my OG cards are useless is lame. The fact that almost all earlier gen cards are useless is lame. They broke the balance the game so now you're required to build relatively new decks (aka have cutting edge cards) in order to be competitive. I do however like some changes like adding in Fairy, Steel and Dragon types. I like EX, GX and Mega but not their stats.
Anyways, rant over. Love these Pokemon booster pack ASMR vids. Hope you keep making them Blue! Heck, make a video showing your collection, your deck(s), you playing a match in ASMR. All that stuff sounds fun.

I'm a kid into pokemon and this was on my for you page low-key satisfying
I had to tell my parents I'd lost my cards but really a kid had thrown them into the air over a wet playground at school.
I'm still bullied at work but learned to avoid social events completely and workshop gatherings of more than two people.

Absolutely love these vids, been watching for a while now.
I really don't like any of the card games out there, mainly for the way they are set up for collecting. They are ridiculously overpriced and you have to buy tons of packs and end up with lots of duplicates that you will never use. Nevertheless, your voice is so mesmerising that I'd gladly watch this video over and over again :).
The packaging for these play cards is so confusing to me bc I associate it with snacks, so when I see and hear her open the packs my stomach is confused lol #FattyProbs

Selickt probably means "select" but because that thing is a Lickylicky it is "selickt". I have no idea what this is about but this is my guess. 😁 31:30
yea that's exactly it... lilickicky and lickitung are notorious for having lick/tongue related move names ... eg tonguenado and licks go crazy
that specific atk refers to the opponent having a choice between discarding cards from their hand or the top of their deck ... hence "selickt" like as u say "select"
Topps series 1 alone is 300 cards so not verycrazy at all
