      Lol really? That's not something I have heard very often on my travels. No offense to Russians, I always get along with them, but I just haven't heard many people say they are the most welcoming or hospitable people. But I suppose it depends on the culture you are accustomed to, and I've also never been to Russia so I don't know how they are while in their country

    Hi Gisselle! Hope you're fine and your leg is also in an improved state. Loved your new video. Yeah, I remember there was a kinda weird vibe in this Caïro tower. Though the night time view of the city all around made up for it. All these restrictions were not yet in place either. All the best. 🙂

    Very nice video..... as always I enjoyed it. Yes, I visited the Cairo Tower in 2021 but at night.... beautiful view from there. I went with 2 Egyptian friends, so no problem to get in. Ah yeah Al Azhar Park does have a great view point at the top. Entry fee has gone up recently (I heard), but a nice little place to wander around or sit and chat with friends. It's a peaceful place anyway, if someone is looking for that.

    This tower was a masterpiece at the time of its construction. They began work on it in 1956 and completed its construction in 1961 in the shape of an Egyptian lotus flower ..

    we went there when I was a kid it was a great experience back then, it DOES rotate just extremely slowly so you'd be setting there and like 30 mins later the view shifts slightly but its noticeable so you will need to stay a little bit, I'll probably visit again with someone, but yeah the stairs look like a weird labyrinth

    I always loved going on Cairo Tower. Its a nice walk going from Tahrir Square to the tower and u get a great overview of Cairo. 10 Dollars is a high price for Egypt but should fit with every vacation budget.

    • @Gventures
      @Gventures  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well...maybe not EVERY budget. When I am traveling my budget is typically around $30 a day for everything (sightseeing, transportation, accommodation, food, etc.) But I am a budget traveler and my style of travel is backpacking. I do prefer the view from Cairo Citadel or Bab Zuweila, honestly. Both of those sites are cheaper and there is more to do and see than just the view of the city. Cairo Tower is probably the best view, but for the cost and the entire process and it being only that, I don't personally love it. Just not my cup of tea though, everyone has their own preferences.

    I was solo traveling in Egypt this February and was able to get up there alone. Neither the ticket person nor the elevator attendant forbid my entrance. I remember the elevator attendant did give me a strange look as if she was about to say something but I suppose decided not to? Also it may have helped that on the elevator ride up I got into a discussion with a tourist couple. Perhaps they thought we were traveling together then, who knows.

    I was in the restaurant about 2 years ago, it is revolving very very slowly 😉 I think it takes about 1 hour to go round once. The food was surprisingly good, I had expected it to be a lot worse, but wanted to wait for the sunset anyway 😊 I would not really go there for the food alone, but it was ok.

    • @Gventures
      @Gventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol well at least the food was good. I dunno, I picked a spot as reference and stared waiting but saw no movement, but maybe I didn't wait long enough and it was barely rotating. I went to Cairo Tower in December 2023. I was alone. They let me in, but they didn't let me on the panarama deck. So i saw the views from the restaurant, nice view, and i could make out the pyramids in the distance slightly in the mist.
    I have a question - i read somewhere that there was about a thousand steps that you can walk up instead of using the elevators, seeing the outside/edges of the tower. Is this true? As it was never mentioned to me when there, and i can't find online info on it other than the one site that said it

    Hi, I wonder if it's possible for you to do a video on buying train tickets at Ramses station, similar to one you did on Go Buses please? I.ve read that changes have been made n it is now suppose to be easier and tourists are no longer restricted to the wagons lit sleeper train. Cheers Giselle

    • @Gventures
      @Gventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      You know, I've actually been meaning to make that video for a while now, but I just haven't had the need to go and buy a ticket for the train. When I made the video about Go Bus I was buying a ticket to Hurghada so it worked perfectly. Also Ramses is always a mess and lines are always long to buy tickets for the train, so it's kind of a pain in the ass to make a video about 🤣 But this question does come up a lot with people, so I definitely need to make a video about it. I just want to make a detailed video that answers as much as possible, and right now I know little to nothing about the trains since I never take them, so I think it will be a longer process than the Go Bus video. But maybe I will try to make that video sooner than I was planning. I need to start planning that out and finding out what I can about these trains. So much seems to depends on changes in the system (which is happening a lot right now in Egypt, for many things). Inflation and devaluation of currency is affecting everything. Can't transfer money from US account to Egyptian account now, and was able to before. Must take USD to bank and exchange into EGP with receipt to prove it before extending visa (never made you do that before). Tourist sites now must be paid with card. Heard train tickets needed to be paid in foreign currency too. Just lots of changes happening and it's hard to keep up with, and hard to know what will stick and what is just a temporary change. Sigh.

      Thank you, I do take filming my videos seriously, and always do my best. I also take pride in my honesty, which is why I refuse "free" tours and hotel offers and such, because I know I would HAVE to give them a good review since they gave me something for free. I would rather pay for everything on my own and express exactly how I feel or think about something, whether I like it or enjoyed it or not, than get something for free and lie.
      As far the Arabic title.....I wish I had written that! I can barely read or write something in Arabic, let alone write a title like that! Maybe some day 😅 My boyfriend is Egyptian and he always helps me write the Arabic title for the video, that's why it is fluent and native sounding (it is) 😅 Thank you so much again for your kind words and your support! ❤️🙏

    Can't go up by yourself? I tell you as much as I travel and into Egypt, their mentality amazes me. They want tourist and the $$ but they seem to do everything to Alienate tourist. Many other vlogs say the same thing, with problems and stupid stuff.
    You said you went with your boy friend who is Egyptian and the still tried to stop you going up? or he stayed below I guess. Is Cairo Tower Worth it? NOPE!

      No my bf was working but I called him and had him talk to the manager. If I was with him or someone else they would have allowed me to go up, no problems. And they did anyway, but it was an exception. I didn't really think it was worth it but I also don't like a lot of touristic things

    Oh, you know how it is... do a little geographical observation, and it makes you a little suicidal.
    Probably all that "Curvature..." Just so overwhelming... o_O

    250 EGP for foreigner and 70 for Egyptians .. This is one of the advantages of marrying an Egyptian man 😅

      Ha. Actually no. Just because you marry an Egyptian doesn't mean you are suddenly an Egyptian. One would still get charged foreigner price, unless you become an Egyptian citizen, which takes some time, depending on how you do it.

      @@Gventuresactually if you just show an official translated marriage certificate, your foreign spouse can get Egyptian rates. Whenever my wife comes along to the pyramids for example, we pay the Egyptian rate. I believe a foreign spouse can also get a resident card (not necessarily citizenship) and they also qualify for the local rates. At least that has been my experience 😊

    I went there before. Great, but going down and up takes time, maybe two hours to get up and an hour to get down🫡🗻🛬

      Yeah, it wasn't really worth it for me. But I'm not usually into touristic tall buildings that I must pay a price for just to wait in line for a brief view. That, coupled with the solo ban, left me with no desire to ever do it again. But it was a nice view....

      If a person likes such things like tall observation decks its worth doing for the experience if you bring a little patience. If you are a top of the Eifel Tower or CN Tower sort of person this is not as grand but its cool. I did it in 1998 and it was good for a one and done experience. I would agree about other view points having a lot to offer in Cairo.
