  • As we continue our week-long look back and tribute to the ABC television series The Time Tunnel, today, an interview with Time Tunnel star James Darren; the interview took place back on April 9, 1991 on Entertainment Tonight's Mary Hart file interview series.
A good interview with Mr. Darren, always one of our favorites here at Television Vanguard; ironically, during the interview, there was not an opportunity to mention Darren's fine work on The Time Tunnel, but we'll make up for that later this week with the second part of the series' cast interviews and our look back at amazing The Time Tunnel series.
    Enjoy!
This video clip is presented here on TH-cam for the entertainment and informational value of the viewer, and no copyright infringement is intended.
We'd also like to take a moment to extend our congratulations to everyone's favorite entertainment report, Mary Hart! Mary Hart recently (last weekend) received with a lifetime achievement award at the Daytime Emmy's ceremony.
Congratulations Mary!! Well done, and much deserved!!

Love James darren. My sister and I met him at the cobleskill, n.y. fair in 1973. He took a picture with my sister and I, and was extremely nice. Would love to see him again. He was always my idol and still is.

the 50th anniversary of a show from '66 was in '91? yeah that's some 'time tunnel'...

You are correct. Often times, when we do a tribute to the 50th anniversary of a television series, we'll rely on various video clips from across the decades that may not necessarily correlate to the 50th year - sometimes they do, but often times they were recorded years, or even decades, earlier. We hope that the inclusion of these video clips helps tell the story of who the series evolved over time, etc. Thank you for watching. - Television Vanguard staff

@@TelevisionVanguard But this clip doesn't even mention him staring in the Time Tunnel at all. It talks about TJ Hooker and Giget movies. I expected an interview about his time filming The Time Tunnel series!

@@10SteveHi Steve, sorry for any confusion this video may have caused. We posted this video a few years ago, and have gotten better at describing the videos in more detail in their titles, over the years.
We've began realizing (over time) that people will come upon a video via a search... not necessarily via a 'blog-like' daily review of the videos posted in their entirety. We'll make some changes to the title to better reflect its content.
Thank you for watching, and we hope you'll find more videos of interest (including more from Time Tunnel) here on Television Vanguard. - best to you, staff

Yes he was so handsome and a wonderful singer. He was so much more talented than Frankie Avalon IMO. I enjoyed watching him weekly on the Sci Fi show The Time Tunnel, again very handsome guy. Then in the late 80's? he did the Star Trek Next Generation TV show reoccurring Holographic lounge singer character I dont know why that character was used but he was still very good and sang.
