Yeah, I always found it interesting how the fans tend to see and write Beverly and Will's other coworkers as trusted friends and confidantes, because I see them as a bunch of jerks who rely on Will for his expertise but fail to treat him with a basic level of respect. Exception Alana, of course. Like when they we're talking about who the middle child or only child was and they said something rude about Will, who was standing in the corner not participating in the conversation by choice, I just imagine him snapping at them like "and you wonder why I don't come to pub trivia". Many people see this as friendly banter, but Will's lack of participation makes it feel very one-sided.

I believe that Hannibal doesn’t consider Will rude, simply because Will is authentic to himself and others. When Hannibal sees others as rude, it’s because they’re inauthentic and and they hide themselves behind a facade and general rudeness.
