I learned SO much from this one video. Wow. 1. Spray shellac to seal the wood tannins 2. line up the bottom of the IOD letters (not the stamp itself) on the lines of the acetate 3. Allowing milk paint to sit before using 4. Packing tape hack for stamps that won't stick 5. Milk paint can be used over metal
I am at the age I have lived through this color and didn’t really like it when it came around the first time. Obviously I still am not fond of it. I would like to know if it is selling well for everybody else, please.
I was in your shop yesterday. Picked up a butter pat, some primitive candles. Just on our way home from Diamondale. I try to stop by each time we travel to see family.
Yvonne, you need a glue pot . Find yourself an electric skillet and melt a bunch of big glue sticks in it. Then you can just touch the end of whatever you are gluing into the skillet and it goes much faster. Learned this in floral design school. Plus you can regulate the glue temp easily
I can’t believe you were going to get rid of the mirror! It was a simple project and it’s beautiful! I love the way the wax just transform the colors! The boxes also came out gorgeous! You did a great update on them especially painting the hardware! I saw Jami Ray paint her son’s bedroom door windows and it looks fantastic!
The mirror , I love it!! the two boxes , great vision for them both,,,,now that wreath, i have seen you make them before , they are beautiful, but i would not have your patience at all, maybe sometime. You did great on all of them!
I think we should ship that window and wreath to my house...lol! Love how your projects turned out! Love your style and I agree green's can be neutral!! Thanks for inspiration!!
Yvonne, I love your personality and tutorial style. You explain as you work and don't rush through like soe crafters who speed up the camera and I do not like that. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us. Blessings😛
I love the mirror and it looked so cool with the terra cotta pots reflecting in it. Yes the wreath is time consuming BUT well worth it. I have made 4 and I love them. Thanks for the idea of painting the back of window. I just happen to have an old window in my stash. TFS Yvonne
Love the music wreath! I did one last year for a friend and used a John Grisham book that was her favorite. She loved it and I learned how to do it from you! I love your channels and have learned so much from you the last few years! Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing your talents with all of us.
Thanks for another fabulous video with lots of inspiration. I have made a few of the hymnal wreaths with several more ordered. I don't know if you remember me, but I sent you a few of my grandpa's old hymnals from their old church, and this is what you made from them. I am so grateful to you for sharing with me the process to make them. ❤
I made a music sheet wreath because of you! It’s my absolute favorite wreath! Yes it took a while but sooo worth it! Just put some headphones on and watch a movie or listen to some music and it’s done in no time. You’re an absolute inspiration and a great teacher! Appreciate all you do and share with us! I’ve been hanging on to this old window from the 1800’s and 2 old old large picture frames from the same time era. I just keep watching and waiting…. I know something you do will be just right for them. I’m kicking around the antique mirror idea so I may have to back track to some of your old videos for some inspiration 😉 Thank you for sharing today! Loved everything!
My breadbox is just like that one built that way my dad built it for me and my little brother routed the word bread on it and you are right it was made in the eighties! Very special I just redone it last week lol The paper wreaths you make are gorgeous ❤
What a wonderful redo on the mirror. Love it! I enjoyed the window also. The bread box and recipe box were great also, I've done some with green and mercantile stamps.
OH my gosh! The wreath on the window........Love it. The mirror, the boxes how sweet! I would have never thought about chocolate on the windows but boy you did. I think your brain is on steroids, my goodness but, only in a good way:) Thank You for all your hard work. God Bless, Hugs, Rebekah. Hi Mr Chick .
Suggestion for radio flyer wagon, red in color with inside having some rust. I was thinking you have done a project in the last year(?) that sealed in the rust and I think you painted it.
I LOVE the crackling and chippiness! The green is so very pretty 🎉 The breadbox and recipe box look great in my fave green!❤ And one of my favorites…a wreath on a window! Just beautiful!😊 Thanks for sharing!❤
I had a mirror with a beautiful frame that, over time, started getting black on the mirror area. So it turned it into a chalkboard. Still use it to this day.
Hello, I Love the mirror best, that color is wonderful. I would Love to paint a kitchen in that color with creamy colored cabinets. Love your videos. Hope your health is coming along great. Take care
Yvonne, I loved everything!!! The mirror was my favorite. I just love watching you. I learn so much. You have so much patience. Don’t think I have the patience to make one of those beautiful music wreaths. 😉. Hope you reach your 100,000 ❤️
I am so glad you saved the mirror. I love the green. And, you put wire on the back for vertical or horizontal hanging! You are just so thoughtful. It is wonderful that you save all these items from possibly ending up in landfills. Yvonne, have you ever shopped at something called the Goodwill Bins? I guess it is the last stop for items. On some things you pay by weight. I have never gone to one. I just saw it on some other channels. Have a blessed day!
Hi! Just wanted to thank you for the idea of using shallac on old wood! Redoing some old drawers and I love the way they look and turned out! Love your videos!
I’m always worried to do a second layer of milk paint if my first layer is crackled and perfect 😂 But, I do have a question: could you seal (or shellac) between coats to help ensure a chippy finish while also achieving that full-coverage look?
I wouldn’t suggest it.. I do think the layers of milk paint interact with each other. I could be wrong.. but I’ve found if the first layer cracks usually I get that crackle finish at the ends when I do multiple layers
Great green ! Reminds me of the 1960's antiquing kits we would get !
I have my grandmothers dresser that was done that way…
I learned SO much from this one video. Wow.

Please do a video for us with ONLY black and white, in honor of the old days. Do love all the color now. Nostalgia is also good.
I was in your shop yesterday. Picked up a butter pat, some primitive candles. Just on our way home from Diamondale. I try to stop by each time we travel to see family.
That’s awesome.. thank you. What a small world.
Yvonne, you need a glue pot . Find yourself an electric skillet and melt a bunch of big glue sticks in it. Then you can just touch the end of whatever you are gluing into the skillet and it goes much faster. Learned this in floral design school. Plus you can regulate the glue temp easily
