Had one of these back in high school, and updating the OS felt like a charm then. Though what I disliked about Nexus 4 was it being really prone to overheat, being a design flaw, and the messy headphone jack position.
Unneccesary fact: Android Jellybean (and probably KitKat) were the only Android which got almost 10 years of system and Google Play updates while Android Lollipop only got 1 year of system support.
Updates for Google Play Services were dropped for: - Android ICS (2019) - Android Jellybean (2020-2022) - Android KitKat (2023) - Android Lollipop (2024) As of 2024, the oldest version of Android still supported by Google is Marshmallow.
I always thought of the material design as kind of old, but seeing this update process makes it seem like such a huge step up. If i had a phone in 2014 i'd make sure to install a lollipop based ROM to flex on everyone :P
@@saveliyivanov9943 i searched it in Google and i dont like the design in my opinion, pretty boring. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus had that holo design that give him personality. Also, it was the first ever android phone with the screen buttons we know today
I think Phones at that era, is using emmc storage. I noticed minor slowdown after installing Android 5😅 Well what I actually like from Android 5 is notification and control center in one place (I considered classic anyway 😅😂), which seems easier to use 😅
Android 5.0.1 is no longer supported by google there are now security risks no security updates now but root the phone to get latest andoid version or experience Android 5.0.1.

How nostalgic it is to remember when Android Stock was the best, the Kitkat icon theme was beautiful along with the default dark mode.
