Let's face it...everyone would make music like Morrisey if they could. He expresses what everyone of us...including you haters...have felt at one time or another...He lyrics are timeless.
Just when you think he’s career has waned off, he come back and there’s something like this and it’s worth all the money that we have ever paid him. Loved him since I was a sad teenager struggling with the world and my place in it. Now I’m nearly 50...... still struggling with the world and my place in it. Thanks for being there M👍
Depression doesn't discriminate, he had depression from quite an early age and he has said in many interviews that he had a very isolated and difficult time during his teenage years.
so true. the vocal really captures the mood of the song. you wonder if it's auto-biographical, and then you realize, a lot of us have been there. that's when Morrissey really nails it
What you said is so true!! And I have been a fan for decades also. Its a strange phenomenon that his songs can inspire us in ways that we might not expect. Some call it depressing but its revealing. And gives us hope that we who are suffering in one way or another have someone who comisserates. We need it now more than ever!
Lets face it, he's best when he slows it right down and we can wallow in those beautiful straightforward words sung with such sensitivity. We are transported to some time and place in his life.
the state of hundreds of thousands of marriages, where one of them, put on quite the lie of enthusiasm and a false affection , then a year or two out, one finds thar his/her spouse is his competeitor!!!
Well said SW. I grew up with the Smiths and had the priviledge of seeing them live a number of times when they were at their peak. As a teen they spoke into the core and as an adult just as much. Morrisey is a genius; he can say the things we want to say but can't find the words - he does it for us.
This is the simplest and prettiest song I've heard since 'There is a Place...'. A heartachingly beautiful plea for for us all to treat each other decently, gently; for we are all inside as fragile as snowflakes and not long for this world. How many precious things are brutally crushed and swept to dust through our everyday thoughtless self obsession. We all need love and connection. And this poem by our Hero of the Lovelorn is a mini manifesto for the lonely and the small.
With eyes wide open, thank you for your courage... and honesty Morrissey. Life can be brutally BEAUTIFUL and this track is a pinnacle example. It is simply sublime
Morrissey, just a simply comment" he are beautiful singer/writing human with so many emotional good feelings & lovely things that we feel better every time that we put his songs.
... I also relate to what the poster (wish I could reply directly, damn this new TH-cam lol) said about fighting for someone that didn't fight for you. Painful. As for nice... "Nice" is hardly ever respected or appreciated. Shame. People think its being "fake", but what if you're a genuinely good hearted person? I think you can be "nice" and still have an interesting personality. To me, when someone shows me kindness and "niceness", its the greatest gift of all. Sorry for the novel, just a new Morrissey fan who loves this song :-)
What a heartbreaking song! These lyrics really get to me though I was the meanie in the story. I had someone who loved me and trusted me, and I abused him. Shame on me! But it wasn't out of pure evil. I just was stupid and insecure. I wasn't comfortable in my own skin, I didn't love myself so I couldn't love anyone else. Kids, don't ever make the same mistake that I did, it will come back and haunt you for years! And also learn to forgive yourselves and others, we're only human :(
it doesn't haunt those who don't have a conscience whatsoever so honestly congratulations on that that to me is a big accomplishment to even realize what you have realized
Back again…I guess I will always end up coming back to this sad yet beautiful song. Thank you…as always…for the words Moz. You’re music and your words have always been my one constant and true friend throughout my life. I don’t know what I would do without you. I guess I’ll never learn…but I am hoping the cruelty, pain and hurt I have woken up to over the past five years will finally come to an end now…Maybe I will be able to regain what I let go of so many years ago…I just want to be happy again. I’m so tired of being scared, embarrassed and humiliated. No one deserves to be mistreated. If someone hurts you…they can not possibly love you…no matter how many times they say it. I hope I have the strength to finally close this chapter of my life for good. ❤🙏 #WhatdoesntkillUmakesUstronger
You should have been nice to me, It would have been so easy. It wouldn't cost you money. Wonderful and painful song at the same time. We should all be nicer to each other's,simple as that. Good influence
I think of myself when I listen to this song and how I sometimes don't offer the best support to those I love and care for. I don't like myself for that. I want to be better
A friend of mine met him and Morrissey told him "I'm sorry you were a fan". What he fails to see is the merit in his music, expressed depression as it were. If anything I'm happy to have such a beautiful person writing what i feel even though it's hard for both fan and performer.
Sometimes your best friend is a woman and she can't love you back its the same way it's the chance you take . This song goes out to all the lovely ladies who couldn't. Kindness goes a long way we are not perfect just learning....
I loved my best friend & broke his heart after he bought me a ring. I read his book of poetry, that he made for me about 10 yrs ago, the other night & cried my eyes out.
probably the best place to start. Try the tracks: Suedehead, Everyday is Like Sunday, Last of the Famous International Playboys, The More You Ignore Me... well, too many greats to list. Also check out The Smiths if you haven't already. You're in for a treat :)
Today, yesterday and always will my love and appreciation for him be steadfast. He shaped me in so many ways. I was once the boy on stage who was able to kiss his cheek. My DJ boyfriend wouldn’t talk to me for weeks ❤
This is so good. It's the way so many girlfriends are. They're all nice to you when you're the only one with them at the time, but when it comes to their friends or anyone else, they ignore you. Treat you like you're less than everyone else they know.
Someone will love her properly, you shouldn't say it like no one will, if you loved her strong enough you have the courrage to admit you were't meant to be, in favour wish her luck and peace and just move on
That's because he never has performed this song live. I think I heard somewhere that Moz actually isn't that fond of it. A pity really. I think it's quite an underrated song of his.
É dificil saber quais emocões despertam em cada um de nós, mas sabemos que canções como essas fazem você lembrar e avaliar momentos e situações e emoções jamais demonstradas, obrigado Morrissey
Wow! This is one of the best Morrissey tracks I have heard in a LONG time. Should have been on Vauxhall and I, it has the same sound. Wish he was still making them like this .... wonderful.
Let's face it...everyone would make music like Morrisey if they could. He expresses what everyone of us...including you haters...have felt at one time or another...He lyrics are timeless.
Yes
INDEED
people who hate him are just jealous of his talent
No problem to face that fact. Just joy and confirmation
I believe I could make a very good foray into this... people & feelings are an intuitive art.
Morrissey is definitely one of the best lyricists of all time, so poetic.
Morrissey é um poeta, antes de qualquer outra coisa!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
morrissey dont write his songs
@leodjoneluv he does. May have co writers but hes definitely the main writer.
Morrissey is our conscience and emotions.
He can literally understand and put into words parts of our lives. Truly an amazing artist
ditto xx
thanks moz.
I say the same about Kermit the Frog.
Joana B yes
Don't be silly he's just repeating the Bible just like all the rest 🤦♂️
The greatest musician of all time. That is not an overstatement.
Agreed amazing song
Robert smith and paul McCartney and this guy top three .!!
yeah frank... the guy who didnt even write his own lyrics.
#1 lyricist, but definitely not musician.
Quite a claim, the only time Moz ever played an instrument was piano on 'Death of a disco dancer'
Hang in there Boschie!
Depression doesn't discriminate, he had depression from quite an early age and he has said in many interviews that he had a very isolated and difficult time during his teenage years.
Is this not 'one' of the greatest Morrissey songs ever? It hits the nail on the head everytime.
It is THE greatest Morrissey song ever written for me personally
'You could have waited' - this gets me each time, the way he sings this, especially the third time.
it's ridiculous how many great songs he writes...he is simply an incredible musician...
just pours out of the chap
His voice is so beautiful. He could literally sing about anything and it would sound so beautiful. This is one of my favourite songs.
So many unheard or rare songs of Morrissey 's are pure gold.
true songs like this or the edges are no longer parallel, nobody loves us are so beautiful
I'm sure this reminds everyone of someone. What a chilling, beautiful song
This song is one of the best works of Morrissey ! The lyrics are real, honest and so beautiful ! Thank you, Morrissey !
so true. the vocal really captures the mood of the song. you wonder if it's auto-biographical, and then you realize, a lot of us have been there. that's when Morrissey really nails it
Speaks straight from my heart... that's why I love you Moz....for two decades now...
Its not Mox its Mor.
Lk T get off the juice man

"It wouldn't cost you money."
“I have various duties. My title is Associate Producer.” So Powerful.
Still one of the few lyricists who so wonderfully goes where others fear to tread...
Steven speaks the truth, and it's hard for most people to swallow.
He's amazing but he's just repeating the Bible just like all the rest 🤦♂️
@@BoRerunn what
Lets face it, he's best when he slows it right down and we can wallow in those beautiful straightforward words sung with such sensitivity. We are transported to some time and place in his life.
What a gorgeous man with an amazing voice! No one writes lyrics like Moz! ♥
This photo is a lovely one of Moz. Just beautiful.
Is it possible to write a more amazing song? Oscar would be clutching his flowers in envy.........
this is literally the saddest song ever :( i love it! thank you Morrissey....
+Antoinette Hourigan at this moment in time im inclined to agree with you
the state of hundreds of thousands of marriages, where one of them, put on quite the lie of enthusiasm and a false affection , then a year or two out, one finds thar his/her spouse is his competeitor!!!

Out of all the human experiences, there is none I dread more than being able to relate to morrissey’s lyrics
great photo of him
Morrissey omg
Can listen too your songs all day, puts into another place
Whenever I feel like it's the end, I come to Morrissey and he always picks me up from the hole I'm wallowing in :)

Morrissey, just a simply comment" he are beautiful singer/writing human with so many emotional good feelings & lovely things that we feel better every time that we put his songs.

Best unrequited love song I've ever heard.

Right there with you, Timid Kitten.
I’m glad he’s not with you anymore. Let’s hope he’s found someone who makes him feel wanted.

So delicate, so pure... what a magic Artist.
Sooner or later the day always comes...And I am thankful to have this song to put into words what I can not~
“It would have been so easy...”
best singer in the universe
You should have been nice to me, It would have been so easy. It wouldn't cost you money.
Wonderful and painful song at the same time. We should all be nicer to each other's,simple as that. Good influence
One of the best Morrissey songs, should have been on an album as a standout single.
Morrissey..... I think i love you..... international playboy🌟💪💪💪💞Gud nyt!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH 💋⭐
I Love you Morrissey
such a beautiful man.
Morrissey: A legend now and a legend forever!
What a lovely song
I think of myself when I listen to this song and how I sometimes don't offer the best support to those I love and care for. I don't like myself for that. I want to be better
This song. There are no words.
Flawless....and essential. I love you, Moz.
One of my favourite photos of Mr M ❤
I have no words
A friend of mine met him and Morrissey told him "I'm sorry you were a fan". What he fails to see is the merit in his music, expressed depression as it were. If anything I'm happy to have such a beautiful person writing what i feel even though it's hard for both fan and performer.

Steven Patrick Morrissey: You are a genius
Viva Morrissey!!!
I loved my best friend & broke his heart after he bought me a ring. I read his book of poetry, that he made for me about 10 yrs ago, the other night & cried my eyes out.
the musical arrangement is simply divine
I've been putting off listening to this song again
I love this song! Everytime I hear it. It makes me cry!! Love you MOZ!!!

Morrissey is my God
I relate to all the songs that's why I always love his poetic words

Sublime
Beautiful.
This is so good. It's the way so many girlfriends are. They're all nice to you when you're the only one with them at the time, but when it comes to their friends or anyone else, they ignore you. Treat you like you're less than everyone else they know.
The guy's a genius. Proud to come from the same city as Morrissey.
Wow first time hearing this song... amazing.
this song is wonderful...pleased to have discovered it
a beautiful song I find kinda soothing and uplifting
Someone will love her properly, you shouldn't say it like no one will, if you loved her strong enough you have the courrage to admit you were't meant to be, in favour wish her luck and peace and just move on
Dedicated to happiness on your own.
Top shelf song. Thx for uploading.
Oooops My 🕊, I ADORE Morrissey but this song waaaaaaaaay MORE! I've NEVER heard it b4. Thank u 💃
He says he LOVES u too!!! 💞
This makes some of us cry.
Beautiful
What i like about Morrissey is that his lyrics are amazingly blatant like B. Dylan's. Both are very good poets.
He's utterly amazing...I love this song so much but 28concerts over the past 20years I've never heard it live...
Why is this song not in Apple Music nor Spotify:-/ “it wouldn’t cost you money”
Absolutely beautiful opening. Beautiful!
I had compleatly forgotten about this song... And I don't know how I came here, and well... All I can say that it was the perfect timing.
What a nice song! Never heard it before.
Wow! This is one of the best Morrissey tracks I have heard in a LONG time. Should have been on Vauxhall and I, it has the same sound. Wish he was still making them like this .... wonderful.
