My nanny is from tikapa , I live far away in Manawatu . I had this far out dream I left this old house walking up a dirt track muddy from rain from , I got to a cross road and had to give way to a war party fresh after battle coverd in mud and blood and carrieing their dead on a cart , two warriors on horse back stood out and I felt fear real fear until I realised they couldn't see me . they carried the union jack draped over there thighs and horse , they were walking as if they won the battle, but for what cost they seemed defeated, they slowly passed dragging themselves along this track and then I could pass I didn't see them again then I got to the top of the hill and it was a a big open atea right on the coast in the middle of summer , I walked into a marae and was greeted by this old lady real old she was the only one in there but it felt like there was heaps of old people in there , I was greeted like they had been waiting for me and I felt at home and accepted , the old lady showed me these photos of these way ancient people showing me my ancestors. Out of it dream alright , I liked it . I go to find out my nanny Ane te maro who I never met , is from tikapa and the hestead is at the bottom or tikapa marae , jump on Google Earth and wholey shit it's the same as I dreamt, big open atea , dirt track from the homestead with a crossroad. And then I done a google and Ngati porou fought under the union jack flag . Fuck if that ain't some buzzy shit I must be fukin out of it haha. Anyway Il be back soon JAH
I was at this game my son went running to do the haka & came back & reckons mum I don't know this haka ... ( His bloodline is from there but brought up in Hawkes bay ) was a good game beautiful Haka live ...
I wish I had the privilege to live in the islands and learn this! But I learned this on my own....I live in the U.S. and plan on visiting NZ or Samoa....love the videos too because these white kids laugh at me when I express myself during the Haka and I hate it! I wish were with these kids (my brothers) to be passionate with them during the Haka!
+Nikeballer Quickness join high school rugby i live in the U.S and my friend does rugby and they do the haka lol one time we were at a park we end up doing the haka for water balloon fight i suk at doing the haka but i likeeed at the end of it

Much love and respect from the USA. This tradition is very powerful!
Passed down through generations. Their great grandfathers and grandmothers
Hearty my young ngatis. Love from a porou boy, far from home.
Tempo absolutely nailed! No speeding up like a lot of boys college hakas like they’re on energy drinks
The best part is the real little ones getting amongst it, it’s so awesome to see the culture is alive and well.
Ka mau te wehi ! Extraordinary passion and energy, so impressive. Thank you for sharing.
This is my home town Ruatoria doing the haka at Whakarua park . Trying to see if I reckonize anyone from my college days at ngata memorial lol
This was special. Hope the kids in this can watch it and look back, Too solid
