sexy beast.......i mean sexy beat................call it what you will,.a real woman could cause some damage to this tiempo... lol....thabks for sharing,,,,,
That's damn right, man! I'm from Germany and we sure don't have no swamp round here but I'm into Swamp Rock since the day I heard that music for the first time which was seven years ago. Gotta love it!
Close my eyes...and I can feel the prickly, cloying heat, I can smell the smoke from the 'cue, I can taste the shrimp gumbo, I've caught the eye of the sultry, loose limbed Cajun girl who's dancing to this bewitching music and I'm trying to translate in my head snatches of conversation into the French I learned at school....and I'm 4,000 miles away in southern England! I have to go to Louisiana just once before I die.
Used to drive through swamp country on my way to work on the rig off Cameron, LA (early seventies). On the way home, a week later, would stop at one of the local swamp juke joints and get lubricated. Never did see that witchy woman but had fun anyway.
1946nimrod so you're a "nimrod"...what the hell is a "nimrod" anyway? lol Growing up in the heart of the Midwest (Chicago), I can't begin to imagine living in swamp country, and to be honest, I only like a few swamp country tunes, but I really enjoyed your memory of it. It made me imagine it a just a little bit better. It's important to be able to be proud of where one grew up. Long live the South, but on the other hand: Go Chicago Cubs baby!
Well the early Beatles loved Motown, and the Stones were really into Chicago blues,I guess what I'm trying to say is there is no borders on the sounds we dig, cheers.
This is the weirdest thing. For about 7 or 8 years I keep comming back to Ray Jalbert and the Houndogs. Who are they? I believe they are the greatest UNKNOWN band! Its a mystery.
