I’m hearing Dr. Brown minimize too much. I was hoping to hear a broken, truly repentant man, but it would appear he still hasn’t hit rock bottom. He keeps mentioning that this happened 23 years ago. Everybody has a lot of opinions, none of them seem to be based in biblical soundness. What does the Lord say? First of all, Joni Lamb is not DayStar. Neither was Marcus Lamb. DayStar is God’s ministry and his property. He called Marcus & Joni Lamb to found it and run it. He anointed them to do so back in 1993. Since the gifts and callings of God are without repentance, we have biblical footing to believe that Joni Lamb, regardless of any sins she’s committed, is still God’s anointed until God himself takes her out. I believe Marcus Lamb’s life ended early at the age of 64 as a result of his sin of adultery. Notice that even while Marcus was living in secret sin for 7 years, God still blessed DayStar under his leadership. Then he removed him. There are many examples in the Bible of this type of scenario, including with King David, Saul and Solomon. So I said all of that to say this. “Touch not God’s anointed”! No one has a right to decide that Joni Lamb is to be removed as God’s steward of DayStar but God, and he doesn’t need us to do it. As for Jonathan Lamb and his wife, I think it was obvious that God has not called them to run anything. There is no anointing on them to run a lemonade stand, much less an international television network. Perhaps part of this whole shaking was to get them out of there. God is sovereign. I believed they have shown us exactly who and what they are by dishonoring Jonathan’s mother, and calling her out publicly to stone her before the world court of opinion. Secretly recording anyone is never honorable. The one being recorded doesn’t have the benefit of knowing so they obviously can’t know to be guarded.
