I was suggesting to react to both the M/V and the choreo in the same video because Seventeen's choreos are often deeply related to the meaning of the song, sometimes adding new layers of meaning to the song itself, as in "Thanks" and the sign language for example. they may have the biggest number out of kpop groups, but they have fair shares in screentimes,lines and parts solely bcs they actively take part in giving opinions in discussions and they let every members get their own spotlights. they kinda have the freedom as idols. woozi and vernon mostly took part in producing while hoshi and performance team also contribute a lot to choreographing their dance routines. from debut they are known as self-producing idols. tmi; they also created their own variety contents, music videos, magazines, albums. it's really impressive to see how they grow as artists. wish you have a good journey getting into svt it'll definitely worth it :)

Choreography wise, hoshi has said that they give each part to the members who can make it stand out the most. Svt songs usually chop the rap parts into several lines instead of putting it all into a bridge rap break so that helps with getting the rappers some line distribution. Them being well rounded makes them able to sing/rap as needed helps too. In early debut, some members have few lines because they're not confident in singing/can't speak Korean well yet, but now everyone has really good, almost equal line distribution.

As for the part assignments, Home;Run did a really great job in assigning very fair parts to each member but this is not the case every single time. Woozi (blue hair in this mv and the one who is swinging the bat at 6:47 real name Jihoon) plays a huge part in the producing end of their discography. He has 102 songs (mainly Seventeen but also includes other artists) copyrighted under his name in the Korean Copyright Association and is credited for producing every single song in their two most recent albums Henggarae (title track: Left & Right) and Semicolon (title track: Home;Run). Woozi has said that when producing a song he typically starts with creating the beat first. Sometimes other members help him out with creating lyrics and melodies and sometimes he does this all by himself. He has said he wants the hip hop unit to still be responsible for their own lyrics so he will leave blocks in the lyrics for the hip hop unit to fill in with lyrics that they write themselves and the hip hop unit members have commented before (with affection) that it's always scary to present lyrics to Woozi because he can tell them they have to try again. The line distribution is not necessarily divided equally in EVERY song but they balance it with sub-unit songs 🤔 Also in the Japanese releases, members who happen to be more "popular" in Japan get more lines (Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Wonwoo and Hoshi - or at least that's what I've experienced - I do live in Japan btw). People often complain about wanting Pledis to give more lines to so-and-so but they forget that 99.9% Woozi writes all the songs:D We have to understand that it's impossible to always have equal distribution, after all, there are 13 members which IS a lot and certain songs fit more with certain members than others. And it's OK❤️
Too better appreciate SVT's songs, it is best to check out the MV, then the lyrics, then the choreography, then the live performances of a particular song in one go

Woozi (blue hair in this mv and the one who is swinging the bat at 6:47 real name Jihoon) plays a huge part in the producing end of their discography. He has 102 songs (mainly Seventeen but also includes other artists) copyrighted under his name in the Korean Copyright Association and is credited for producing every single song in their two most recent albums Henggarae (title track: Left & Right) and Semicolon (title track: Home;Run).
Woozi has said that when producing a song he typically starts with creating the beat first. Sometimes other members help him out with creating lyrics and melodies and sometimes he does this all by himself. He has said he wants the hip hop unit to still be responsible for their own lyrics so he will leave blocks in the lyrics for the hip hop unit to fill in with lyrics that they write themselves and the hip hop unit members have commented before (with affection) that it's always scary to present lyrics to Woozi because he can tell them they have to try again. For the most part, Woozi does his best to assign parts to the members as fairly as he can.
Seventeen made a name for themselves in Korea as being one of only a few self-producing idol groups. The trend is becoming more popular nowadays but at the time it helped them to really stand out amongst the other groups because they produced, wrote, and choreographed their own songs. With the hip hop unit being responsible for writing their own raps, Woozi producing ~80% of Seventeen's discography, the other vocal unit members helping out with creating melodies and lyrics, and the performance team with Hoshi (Soonyoung) all contributing to coming up with the choreographies, Seventeen can proudly perform songs that have the messages that the members want to send because they wrote it themselves. While this puts a lot of pressure on the members because as much as they are responsible for their successes, they would also be responsible for their failures, Seventeen has done very well to stand out in the k-pop scene in Korea and still remain a powerhouse in terms of performance over there.
In Korea they are acknowledged as the "broadcast kings" by several music broadcasting stations for their synchronization and their consistency and many people that don't even stan them can still say that they perform very well as a group. When you start to get into them more make sure to check out their dance practices along with their music videos because their performances are what really draws in brand new Carats.

The line distribution is not necessarily divided equally in EVERY song but they balance it with sub-unit songs 🤔 Also in the Japanese releases, members who happen to be more "popular" in Japan get more lines (Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Wonwoo and Hoshi - or at least that's what I've experienced - I do live in Japan btw).
People often complain about wanting Pledis to give more lines to so-and-so but they forget that 99.9% Woozi writes all the songs:D We have to understand that it's impossible to always have equal distribution, after all, there are 13 members which IS a lot and certain songs fit more with certain members than others. And it's OK❤️
