Yep. And doesn't it all eventually need to be 'destroyed' if it doesn't sell? I'm not even sure companies are 'allowed' to GIVE the stuff away, since by destroying it they can claim some sort of 'write off' on their taxes?
All the raw material to produce it, the fuel to ship it from China to American retailers. And then I think a lot of trash then gets shipped BACK to China because the USA doesn't want to deal with more 'landfill'... Like the BIG LIE about 'recycling programs'. Apparently MOST items labeled as 'recyclable' really aren't, and just get shipped back to China and dumped in one of their landfills.
No toys would not be that rude to other toys in the Toy Story universe because a toy’s greatest desire in the Toy Story universe is to be played with by a kid the raft is unless a toy is a villain like Losto Bear and Stinky Pete the toys are not rude like that
Disney used to thrive on plush toys alone. The Sears Gund Winnie the Pooh in the 90s was all the hot rage. My grandparents got me one when I was born and 30yrs later he's still in the family. Disney will never have anything like that again. No keepsakes, no family memories, nothing. Disney thrived on a generational customer base. That will be their ultimate downfall.
Yeah, a big reason they used to re-release their classics in the theaters every so often was specifically because the parents had seen them as kids, and they'd take their kids, and so a whole new generation of fans was grown organically through shared experiences and traditions. Wokies are inherently anti-tradition, and so they don't know how to pass along anything other than their own poisonous quasi-religious political ideology.
Pokemon makes a ton of plush toys. My kids are obsessed with them. I see them in their friends bags too. Kids like stuffed soft toys, Disney is just too dumb to stay on trend.
I was more of a Hot Wheels kid, still own quite a few of those small cars, they are still cool after all those years. I feel bad for this new generation with these crappy toys.
As a former employee of the mouse... this really hurts to see. Disney used to know not to throw a ton of cash after a flop (eg. the number of merchandise items produced for 'The Black Cauldron' vs. the amount of merch made for 'Beauty and the Beast', for example). It feels like the company is just imploding right now, and as a lifelong fan and collector... it's a painful watch.
Profit does not appear to be their chief motivator anymore. It really does seem like they're willing to die on the hill of pushing the "message" no matter how few people want it.
DisnESG is being largely staffed, managed, and completely run by malignant narcissists who's entire impetuous and foundation for their philosophies is that they should never have to be held responsible for the consequences of their actions, and every deed is to virtue signal how magnificent and perfect they think they are. Apart from it being the typical leftist M.O of responding to every single problem they encounter, that's why they continue to piss away money on projects that are failed endeavors. Narcissists are empty, vacuous creatures that frequently attach and stake their entire identity to an outside object like it's a frickin horcrux, because they have nothing else; their pride and arrogance are a shell to hide his weak, insecure, and pathetic they actually are, but refuse to acknowledge. To be proven wrong, directly or by proxy, such as by failure of these horcruxes (like the folding of Theranos) is the single greatest fear of the narcissist, because they consider the defeat of their pride a form of identity death, if not extinction. That's why Nob Iger is addicted to spending money and refuses to step down as CEO despite being the single worst thing to happen to The Walt Disney Company: worse even than the death of Walt. Nob Iger has staked his entire identity on his collectivist politics and on being the CEO of DisnESG, so he will drive the entire company to destruction and see the group identity war mongering of his intersectionalist dogma tear the world apart before he has the humility to accept that he is wrong.
It's the complete disconnect from the youth. When's the last time you watched kids play with action figures they way kids used to. They are running the company the only way they know how. They would have made a mint teaming up with Epic Games or something like that. Hasbro, Mettle, etc. are the next industries to fade out. Especially with 3D printing available. If the companies were not run by dinosaurs then they would be more innovative. Instead they are the kind of people that need IT help to log into emails because they lost the password they wrote down.
In the UK the 3 .75 figures are between £18.99 to 24.99, that's if you see any , most toy stores dont even bother stocking star wars stuff , in the UK we watched toys r us go under partly because the amount of rubbish Disney era star wars stuff that stayed on the pegs until the day the doors shut for good, even when they were 70% off people didn't want them.
In Canada Star Wars figures retail for $22.99 and the deluxe ones are $41.99. Marvel Legends are around $35 each and deluxe are over $50. Few sell as they aren't worth it and rot on the shelves.
This isn't 1985. 25 bucks in 2023 is equivalent to 6-8 bucks in the 80's. It's called inflation. You can barely get a meal at McDonald's for less than 20.
Toys should not be this expensive, sure it's mostly adult collectors buying but many kids still like to have a Spider-Man but not at the point where you have to save a years worth of allowance to get one.
And collectors are not going to collect things that are overproduced and they just make more similar stuff. Not really collectible. The 70s stuff is rare...
it's the same price for a full triple A game, and 2 figurines almost. Imagine that value comparison. I don't think the movie flops have anything to do with this, that's just not even close to worth the price compared to games
I like this guy’s shtick! Instead of selling generic “coffee brand” or basecaps and t-shirts you’ll never wear (unless you like the public abuse of Libtards going full TDS) he’s selling his own comic book mockery of WOKE “Star Wars” stuff… while creating content about Disney merch dying on the vine of retail stores… stuff even OBLM flash mobs wouldn’t bother to steal! Kudos!
I had my kids with me at a Walmart yesterday, and my teenage son pointed out that they had a Wakanda Forever Monopoly game on a shelf. He knew what it was, not because we went to see that movie, but because I play your videos at the house. I asked him what it was marked down to. It had a clearance sticker on it for $10. We had a good laugh.
$10, eh? Must be the Chicago Edition; all property values reduced by 50% or more, and every card in Community Chest is a "Get Out of Jail Free" card...but only if you're the right token. 🤷♂️
Who the fk would want to play wakanda forever monopoly? Whoever gave that product the greenlight needs firing. They think they can slap Marvel on something and it will sell. All their market research probably comes from Twitter.
Small kids do not really care as much what toy they get as long as they can play with it. Black Friday Sale all the way up to Christmas and new years is pretty much their last big chance to sell this and still make somewhat of a small profit margin. After that i would imagine it goes either to the charity shops or straight in the landfills/recycling plants.
Kids have no clue about modern star wars for the most part, unless Hasbro make stuff from the 6 George Lucas era films it's going to continue to lose money on star wars stuff , millions of the people who collected star wars stuff have walked away and stopped buying when the rise of Skywalker hit , and with each release more fans walk away , I did .
@@aboutthemetal8783There are some stuff from modern star wars that people like, the issue is that Hasbro and other companies have been over producing everything. They are still working on the old buisness model before the tech boom that kids will buy toys, most teenager and kids today prefer to be online and play online than with toys. Hasbro and others need to switch to appeal more to a collector market like Macfarlane does. Also they need to stop making merch of about every single damm thing, hell they even have figures in bulk of characters that appeared like what literal 2 seconds drinking out of the canteen and that is it.
If they had an Ahsokha action figure that crosses her arms and looks bored, when you press a button, I might buy it. Or maybe Danaerys with a Drax arm.
No surprise. This is what happens when you destroy your IP and then no one wants anything to do with them. Who I really feel sorry for are the retailers and the toy partners. You know they've been shafted for quite a while now.

Do you not think it it was popular they would be making a Movie a year ? The last thing they wanted after spending 4 billion was the biggest Franchise in Film History to be TV shows that no one is watching? I think the best case scenario for some of this stuff is that it might get donated to places like orphanages and child hospitals. Stores would certainly have tax incentives for doing so. But I think what is more likely to happen is that most of this stuff will inevitably end up in a landfill somewhere.
Not even sure they're 'allowed' to do that? I have a feeling all the unsold stuff actually needs to be DESTROYED for some weird 'official business' reasons?
At the store I used to work at the only merchandise we threw out was stuff that was broken or expired food if anything was left over on the shelf after being sold at regular price for a couple of months it would be put on clearance and sold on clearance and because the Disney toys and Star Wars toys are so popular they were only between two to three Star Wars or Disney toys on clearance at the store I used to work at
@@StreetPreacherrThey are allowed but there is a limit as to how much they can deduct for charity donations. Selling it at a loss allows it to be claimed as a loss on their taxes. Disney's biggest crime not only with Star Wars but also Marvel and all Disney properties in general is taking stuff people loved, cherished, and passed on for decades and generations, and destroying it within a few short years. That's not something that can be repaired easily, and will probably take decades more to fix. For me personally, the only thing they made that interested me over the past decade is the vintage reissue figures.
I used to collect the 3.75 Star Wars vintage line but stopped for a few years. I was looking to get back into the line but when I saw the retail price of $16.97 at Walmart for one figure! That was the final straw.
That’s a huge problem and there’s no excuse. You know what the 5 inch scale new Super Powers toys cost? 10 bucks. Yeah, they don’t have the detail and articulation but still.

it makes me happy knowing my 2 nephews still play with toys, which is very rare because they are 13 years old and being in a school who are surrounded by kids their age that do nothing but pretend to be grown ups and dig their heads into their phones. Its truly is a rare sight.
I’ve been pretty much grown out of toys since I was 12-13 (I’m 25 now). The only time I get toys now is like for the Actor/Voice Actor of the character to sign it at a convention.
Brown suit Wolverine 100%. The messed up Vision reminds me of the old Lex Luthor figure from the 1990 ToyBiz DC line, a really gross discount store that used to be here (gross in the way they took the bottom of the barrel stuff that usually literally had "stuff" on the package, except for the expired food they tried to sell). Anyway, we went when they first opened and that Lex figures was there, cut to them closing about 15 years later and it was still there. At the going out of business sale, it ended up costing about a quarter, so I finally bought it and gave it to my brother for Christmas since we had made fun of it for so long and it's become a running gag where we find reasons to give it back and forth to each other as a "gift" lol
My sister got my 12yo niece a Vice Admiral Holdo doll for her birthday. Just 6 months later, she's the leader of vegan biker gang who smuggle Molly and avacados in the Portland area. Coincidence?
Gotta love how it's not all doom and gloom. At the end of the day you're still a big (financially irresponsible) kid at heart, and there's really no toy store you'd be able to leave completely empty handed.
There's something adorably hypocritical about the whole thing. Like I get it that there's always a hunt for a smoking gun here, but Disney sells more than just action figures that aren't popular with grown men who dont have children.
@@OpEditoriali also get the feeling that disney is also just overproducing product too. like yeah current star wars & MCU are flops for the most part but some of this stuff is STILL in the shipping packaging while also sitting in clearance.

Pure junk. BTW kids don't play with this stuff anymore. This ain't the 70s. Ever since digital gaming in the 90s this stuff is nothing more than collectables. It could be worth something in 100 years. Star Wars toys from the 70s in mint condition are worth thousands today as collectables.

I don't know why, but I find these videos fascinating. Funny, well researched and sus'd out, edited, etc... but the fact that these toys just rot on the shelves, when others made just a decode or so ago sell for hundreds is just mind blowing. That boba fett and mandalorian model kit by Bandai is honestly surprising to see at clearance, although I think it’s kind of deserved since Bandai likes to overprice while scalpers do as well for it with the Gundam line that’s more popular and can sell…..well most of it
The bandai figure rise kits are more expensive because there are likely royalties and licensing fees they likely need to pay to the owners of the characters. Bandai fully owns gundam so that helps lower the price.
@@colinbielat8558 Probably explains why the Shin Kamen Rider kit's more expensive than most of the Heisei 20, despite having less stuff. Licensing for movies seems more expensive than for TV, I guess.
@ricardorunos9782 there is likely other things, like because with gunpla they can try and reuse runners from other models that cuts down on the number of new molds that need to be created so that will inherently cut down on the price. I assume most of the Kamen rider kits don't share many common components which will also factor into the price.
I don't see the value of the retro toys. The value is held by the original ones that were made back then. Making them look retro is just lazy and waste.

I have a confession to make. A year or so ago, I bought a Grand Moff Tarkin for no other reason than he didn't make it into the Kenner series back in 1977 (I had all those) and even now when I don't have any of them anymore I still like the Tarkin figure. That's it though.

All Disney could do, was take an existing story and turn it into a pretty princess story. That's all they're still doing, but they can't figure out why it doesn't work anymore.
Disney don't do pretty and they don't do princesses anymore. What they were reasonably good at, they gave up on. Disney now pushes ugly, butch, strong independent wahmen that aren't princesses and "don't need no man".

The one major toy retail shop ( Smyths) stopped stocking them in May this year, the budget shops (B&M or Home Bargains) haven't had Star Wars since 2021.
Because of Bob Iger and his incompetence, I just want Disney to go away permanently, shut it all down. Close up all the amusement parks and demolish them. I'll be more happy to have Disney live only in my memory of the way it used to be before all this toxic wokeness killed it all.

Just looking at the prices, who wants to spend $25 on an action figure? Or $56 for a two pack of the king and queen Skrull? A great deal of the issue is too much stuff at too high of a price
I think Star Wars as a whole should just go on another hibernation period. That way it will allow more time for the hate and overstock to go away, some people get nostalgic for it and than refocus on their effort with a brand new line up. They can take the data to see what was popular and what wasn't focus on those but also somewhat limit their production so they become more collectible.
Who the f*ck wants a Vice-Admiral Holdo figure? If I was 8 years old again, you wouldn't catch me dead playing with that. In fact, if other kids found me playing with that, I'd end up dead!

It never fails to amuse me to see none of these toys selling, it really confirms how Disney Star Wars is failing.
Imagine original trilogy toys failing. It says a lot.
Disney Star Wars is not falling at all the toys are still selling out. In my home state in the main toy retailers they can’t keep the Star Wars merchandise off the shelf because they are always selling out

The fact that you can't say this without the need to point out that you're not one of those "crazy" people who care about the environment...
Just wait until you start getting TEMU ads 😂. You ain't seen nothing yet.
Especially when it's final destination is landfill 😢
When these stores come to life at night these toys are probably very depressed that no one wants them and they know that they suck.
And All of The Good Toys are making Fun Of Them and calling Them Names like "Piece Of Shits." and "Waste Of Plastic." and such.
No toys would not be that rude to other toys in the Toy Story universe because a toy’s greatest desire in the Toy Story universe is to be played with by a kid the raft is unless a toy is a villain like Losto Bear and Stinky Pete the toys are not rude like that
They feel just like me.
you should write that down in script form, and make a movie on it.
Send them all to Africa. Kids would love them
Disney used to thrive on plush toys alone.
Used to love going to Sears when the vintage SW, GI Joe and He-Man toys came out. Such a magical time.
I had the Whinnie the Pooh too. You could squeeze his little sweater and it'd play a song. Everything is so saturated now...
Almost like Michael Eisner knew what he was doing
Imagine how Walt, Roy, the Sherman Bros and every legendary Imagineer would react, if they saw what their company became? It would break their hearts.
15 to 25 bucks for a figure? Even if I didn't have a lifetime boycott against Disney I wouldn't pay that for a toy.
Me who literally pays 20-50 for joytoy and acid rain figures
In Canada Star Wars figures retail for $22.99 and the deluxe ones are $41.99. Marvel Legends are around $35 each and deluxe are over $50. Few sell as they aren't worth it and rot on the shelves.
i'm done i dont pay over $5.00 for a figure
This isn't 1985. 25 bucks in 2023 is equivalent to 6-8 bucks in the 80's. It's called inflation. You can barely get a meal at McDonald's for less than 20.
Toys should not be this expensive, sure it's mostly adult collectors buying but many kids still like to have a Spider-Man but not at the point where you have to save a years worth of allowance to get one.
Exactly prices are ridiculous

We had a good laugh.
That's a good kid !
You raised him well
A wakanda monopoly? What property is there to buy, mud huts?
Imagine seeing this video then getting the toy for Christmas!😂
The Court system will take care of those patents.
You could do worse.
Hasbro and others need to switch to appeal more to a collector market like Macfarlane does.

The bandai figure rise kits are more expensive because there are likely royalties and licensing fees they likely need to pay to the owners of the characters. Bandai fully owns gundam so that helps lower the price.

@ricardorunos9782 there is likely other things, like because with gunpla they can try and reuse runners from other models that cuts down on the number of new molds that need to be created so that will inherently cut down on the price. I miss Beast Wars! When I was little Caldors was THE place for Beast Wars toys!
Interesting note...we dont see HALF of these items in Europe. I used to love browsing Target etc when in the states as there was so much we still dont get... That being said we dont want 70% of it...99% of whats shown here (i did like the Jet Jaguar i saw in the background at one point and the Bandai Mando and Bobba kits). Our recycling and landfill laws are MUCH tighter than the U.S so maybe thats why we dont see so much Disney merch.
You should make little wcbs stickers and place them on the back of "new" figures at Target and see if they pop up at Ollie's. 😂
Always love a toy video, Jeff. It give me a chuckle to see all the Disney merchandise just sitting there. Wonder when the Marvels toys start hitting Ollie's and other discount chains?
70% discount = what the retailers paid for it = so it is not a loss to them unless they go lower or not move product at all.
Still have my sons Beast Wars collection from the ‘90s. He’ll pull them out once a year and show them to his 9 yr old son. We all wanted more of the animals in the movie.
My favorite Disney Junk is the Shuri Copters.
What young American boy anywhere wouldn't beg his parents for one of those?
I saw those on clearance in a store in New Zealand a few weeks ago LOL
That is funny. I guess people down under are on the same page. When I saw the Shuri Copter I couldn't stop laughing. It is so dumb looking I actually want one now. @@richardc.mongler1029 The problem is even when they are half price they are still too expensive.
And yet Disney and Hasbro have a market in the UK, desperate for figures, even stuff from Jazzwares range. But alas, we are lucky to get one or two Exclusives a year. Let alone stock that sits unsold in the American retail sector. We are limited these days to niche UK based Internet shops.
We can only wait.
We can only Walt.
Wokeness has not killed Disney in fact you are using the word woke wrong. To quote Princess Bride you used that word a lot but I don’t think you know what it means
Wokeness? Okay bud
@@sashaaurora8983 Most people on the right throw around the word woke to describe something they don’t like even when they don’t know what it means
Exactly. Stop making movies and TV shows and just stick to books and video games.
Problem there is they don’t have sufficient creativity to generate new ideas. All of those that were talented enough have been purged, by design.
People are still enjoying the new Star Wars show. I myself and people I know enjoy the new Star Wars movies and shows
Who the f*ck wants a Vice-Admiral Holdo figure? If I was 8 years old again, you wouldn't catch me dead playing with that. In fact, if other kids found me playing with that, I'd end up dead!
You would think that someone at Disney would get a clue by now that this shit don’t work. But nooooooo!
I bet Kennedy insisted on Hasbro making a Vice Admiral Holdo figure for every man woman and child on earth....
21:59 huge beast wars fan. I was so stoked I found Trex megatron I got two.
So funny to see the boxes saying 'do not put on shelves before 2018 something'. You know 10 years ago everything would be gone by christmas no matter what, now the shit sit on shelves for years and years.
Is there a single white male in that young jedi series? Represention is so important, but they dont want to represent white males. Really males yoi think
Rewriting history. And genocide to whites.
They are an extinct species.
worst part about the chewie doll, it looks like a plush but its not. my daughter wanted it and I picked it up and told her it wasn't "squishie" and she touched it and decided it wasn't what she thought it was
I haven’t stepped foot in Target for the past 4 years and never will again.
Target needs your business to survive. They're already struggling with huge thefts.
@@jonfreeman9682naaa they can be shut down, their expensive garbage can rot.
Target does this clearance on toys a few times a year. It hits all kinds of toys and often stuff that just arrived. It’s really not about Disney (they have a lot of toys out at all times). Toys have gotten pricey but many of those Marvel Legends didn’t even have a chance to sell. At the 50% off a lot people have been hunting to find them recently.
Didn't know they made a new Cobra Rattler, wish we had those Gijoe figures over here, would've bought me some. See some cool Motu and Transformers now and again in those piles, but the abundance of Disney and Marvel stuff is just crazy 😅
I'd like to get my hands on that Studio Series 86' Coronation Starscream figure myself.
@@muigokublack6487 good choice, I spotted that one as well 😉👍
@@muigokublack6487 if i lived near an Ollies i'd buy a couple just for that chair
@@Customlycool Same. Plus I never had the Earthrise mold so that plus that chair is totally worth it on discount.
If I could find one, I would buy a Cobra Rattler. However, my brothers, nephews, and male cousins already each have one.
They can't even get anyone to steal this crap in the middle of San Francisco.
Beware the approach of the four woke horsemen in the twenty-first century!
Conquest became "Entitlement".
Famine is replaced by "I am the most important person in the world / The law does not apply to me".
Death falls to "My feelings are more important than facts".
War loses to "It's not my fault / I will not be responsible for my actions".

a lot of those "original" prices are ridiculous to begin with. $25-$30 avg for a kids toy. no wonder they aint selling.
Its funny seeing last jedi toys still in bargain bins almost 7 years after the last jedi came out most of the last jedi stock here in Australia rarely seen in stores
If they don't sell why do stores stock them?
My son recently discovered star wars. I’m gonna grab that cheap razorcrest for him for Christmas. I’ll never shop full retail ever again.
Thanks WCBS!!
Show him Lucas Era Star Wars. Ya know, the real stuff
@@Frank-Discussion he has all my old stuff. Vaders tie fighter. Xwing and Luke’s speeder. Chewie and Luke and R2 etc. the razor crest he’s seen and likes the mandolorian. So I’ll spend the 10 bucks on the mission fleet razorcrest.
Kids don't play with this stuff anymore. These things exist in the era before digital gaming came out in the 90s.
@@jonfreeman9682 I’m trying to raise my kids how I would like to have been raised. I go to my old house. I start playing with my old stuff, watching my old shows and I never force it on them. I just do it and look like I’m having fun. Then the kids follow.
That's awesome! I plan to pass on my toys to my kids when I have them, they'll be getting the good OT stuff :)
All I see is corporate contempt for fans. They think an intellectual property is something you can just bottle and place familiar stickers on and fans will buy it, which implies they think fans don't understand what it is that they love.
I picked up a few good deals at Ollies, and Ross because of these video's.
Thanks, fella's!
Maybe Ollie's said no to Reva? If even the discount stores won't take them, well, then Reva is destined for the shredder.
Aw yeah beast wars. Dinobot and inferno are the only ones I'd buy now.
Seeing all this plastic waste really pisses me off. Where's the 'Just stop Oil' protesters?! If anything needs to stop, it's the overabundance of unwanted, useless products rotting on store shelves pushed out to market shitty franchises nobody cares about
I almost want to see a "Stealing Solo" movie adaptation.... Almost.
It's getting on my nerves with his over publicity, to the point that I don't even want his comic for free
You said it was rare to see Han Solo at Ollie’s but did you noticed it was the old man Han Solo. The Han Solo I get is usually from the first three movies. I think a lot of fans are like that
The only line keeping Hasbro afloat right now is G.I. Joe. People are going ham on them. Please oh please don't let Disney acquire G.I. Joe
Nah, Transformers toys also still sell mainly when it’s figures that are highly demanded.
This felt like an Adult Swim segment. Watching an adult stroll through aisles roasting the store and the disney toys in them was more entertaining than I expected. The algorithm did not disappoint.
Yellow blue is what I associate with wolverine due to 90s xmen
So does all of this garbage eventually just become landfill? I assume they can't even just GIVE the stuff away because of some stupid accounting rules?
Is Ollie's just a friendly front end for a landfill or do they actually sell any of that stuff?
The book selection at Ollie’s is quite nice and cheap. I’m in the Southern US so ours sells a lot of outdoorsy and hardware type items.
At some point, some big brain at Disney is going to have the brilliant idea to start shipping merchandise directly to Ollie's and cut out the middleman.
Your videos make me so happy to see the undisputable proof disney failed.
9:32 the guy who analize MCU villains say it, Disney made the colorfull bright villains from the 80-90 into grey mess crap just like Superman with the "No blue, grey or black" suit with Henry
The original Ronan is green blue and is more likeable
Lots of great models to buy at Ollie’s, damn. Thanks for opening my eyes to them!
