This is the only song that has EVER put me to sleep. That's how calming it is. Even when I was a baby, nobody could ever sing me to sleep. I fell asleep in jeans and a school uniform listening to this song on the floor. I'm not sleep deprived, this song is just really calming and comforting. It was literally five o' clock pm and I had fallen asleep. No man should be able to gain this much power. Pension for Casey to be on AGT, just saying.

I was scrolling through facebook after a really long night of not being able to sleep again, staring at the wall, crying silently. Wondering what is wrong with me, feeling worthless. Of feeling second best even though I know it is just my depression and anxiety that I have had for the past 11 years trying to push me under the waves. When i clicked on this video and the song started playing super quietly though one of my earbuds, my husband who is still asleep, took my hand and held it. And is still holding it. And it makes me want to cry so much more. Because, right now, right now I feel ok. I feel wanted. I feel like I matter so much more than what the dark thoughts in my head are to make me believe again. The simple unconcious gesture, and the music playing right now...it makes me feel like I can still keep going. That I will be ok.

Donna O'Connell I am very lucky. I try to never take it for granted, but a lot of the times, my mind is a dark place for myself. It shows me everything I find wrong with my self. Every insecurity, every doubt, ever single thing I wish I could change. Of feeling constamtly worthless and that I am a burden to those I care about. And no amount of love, affection or support can get rid of those feelings no matter how hard I try to fight it. But there are a few people who are giving me reasons to keep fighting no matter how much I wanna just give up. I feel isolated inside myself even when I have someone who would give me the world if it was possible. He is someone I adore with all my being but even then, I still cant help feeling alone and miserable because my mind and heart are so far drowning underneath the waves of anxiety, its difficult to breathe. It takes everything to just try and be happy so I dont worry my precious people.
And when its not the anxiety, its the depression, whispering in my ear, leaning over my shoulder telling me "you are never good enough. Why does anyone want you around. Your art is trash, your voice is trash, your soul is a burden that others have to carry to keep you breathing. You need to loose weight. what are you, a pig? So ugly. Deformed in your eyes, a violent stutter, and way to timid." And so many more things. The things in quotation marks are thoughts that flicker in my mind when im too tired to fight against the sinking feeling and just float as best I can during the nights where sleep is impossible. Of when im staring, zoned out. My husband is one of my pillars of support to get better. Most dont even know im fighting this. But they are always supportive of the things I do to better myself.

i was in a very bad place when this song came out, i didn't leave a comment back then even though the song meant a whole lot to me, two years later it most certainly still does and it's still my go-to song for when i'm not okay so i listened to it today, just a while ago, cried my eyes out. i had been looking at my scars and some awful memories went through my mind. tomorrow i'll be one year clean of self-harm (hah that's a huge secret, i'm kind of hoping no one will see this comment), for a long time i really didn't think i'd get to that milestone. i'm actually mentally and emotionally okay which is still strange to me because i wasn't for such a long time. anyway, going back to the song, i can't really put into words how much it means to me, i wouldn't want to know how many tears have rolled over my cheeks listening to it during all of those long late nights when there was no well for wishing, but it's really a song i needed and i hope to one day give you a big hug and attempt to tell you how much it has helped me once again. thank you, i love you.
