One of the best part of this productions is that, the song is really freaking good. :) Great work of course but man that makes it so much easier when the song is so dialed in.
Hey Seth! Just found your channel. Learning music production and I thought I would recommend Rick Rubin’s book “The Creative Act”. It has been such a great help and I thought a creative person yourself would benefit from it. It’s been a huge help for me!
nice video! I have a question: I always wondering why we should double guitars or synths, or whatever instrument? I Mean, what is the science behind that? Because one sound plus the same sound again, is not just more volume? With saturation, distortion & compression is not enough to enhance any sound? What is the point exactly of double tracks? Stereo wide? what is your opinion? A video about that would be amazing. THANKS! 🙏
When you double track a guitar it’s normally so you can pan one left and the other right. It’s not possible to perfectly redo a performance so the differences between the two make them super wide. For synths it’s normally a sound design choice, getting the body from one sound and the brightness from another, creating something completely unique when combined
@@vincevillafanmusic yup. just gotta make sure all of the plugins you’re using are stereo and that you have a good balance between all the tracks in the bus
Jesus Christ, this is freakin heavenly. Production, songwriting and vocals just outstanding on all levels.

thanks dude! yeah it was tweaked over multiple sessions but i'm so happy with how the final track turned out!
Then the hardest part becomes finding good singers that are willing to put in that kind of effort lol

Can you do a video for one of the newer Beach House tunes? Less poppy and more dreampop/shoegaze type track

i kinda wanna know the effects you use for vocals that makes it sounds good for the lead and doubles
If I remember right it’s just a gated verb and some slapback. The rest is just a standard vocal chain and the effect of layering/panning stuff
yes!!!!
How do you get the full project to play with that many tracks without your computer stopping ?
Using buses whenever I can. Most of those vocals are just in a group of 8+ tracks so 1 eq/1 comp is doing all the work on that stack
@@thevelvetyear Tremendous thank you for the reply. Can you still pan vocals accordingly even if they are sent to the same bus.
