great playing, i am a trumpeter and i have been learning these jazz licks on my trumpet sounds sweet with my tone and my incorporation into few songs i've played, thanks mate
Thank you for a very helpful tutorial! I am starting to learn jazz licks and am finding that my ability to play notes faster is gaining speed. You are an excellent teacher and I really enjoy your videos. Please continue with your efforts. Sincerely, Bert Clark
This was extremely helpful new to Jazz you make it very simple to learn others complicate the jazz language they usually have super big egos to boot I see none in you thanks a million please do more FB
Thanks. Super cool. I have always wanted to learn a little jazz. This is a great springboard! Got a Gretsch Streamliner that will hopefully get a cool sound through a DV Mark Micro 50 Jazz and a 2x12. I'm excited to learn something different. I'm used to ambient, spacey, weirdo stuff. Maybe can incorporate those styles AND some jazz vibes. Thanks again!
A REAL takeaway here is the idea that a vocabulary of licks is essential. Too many guys think it's all about which SCALE to play over which chord, and they always ask that in COMMENTS sections, as if guys playing artfully & fluently are relying on just that ONE device. Just as phrases in a language are necessary in real life and not just Grammar or spelling...learn phrases and sentences!...they teach you AS you use them. Nice accessible lesson, Adrain!
thanks man, i play guitar but i want to transition to a bluesy jazzy type of licks, but don't know how since i don't know how to read tabs or notes at all! this is indeed a great help!....
