Miss Deb, i could listen to your voice all day. summer prelude, pink and purple digi birdies are beautiful. love love love your sweet creative talented mind.
Fabulous. Mom used to get Reader's Digest and I am convinced that my love of reading comes from reading those books. I signed up on your blog!!! I will purchase some printables!!!
Oh. My. Crafting. Goodness! I bought a readers digest book the last time I was at the good will -- it's an outlet center and the hardbacks are all 50 cents -- this is simply gorgeous and wonderful -- thank you for sharing !!
Such a wonderful display of gorgeous images, pretty prints and a variety of different sources of paper. You always bring everything together so well. I actually have about 6 of those beautiful Readers Digest that I picked up at a thrift store. You've inspired me to get them out!;) Tfs❣
Love your work and love your tutorials, you are professional, to the point and easy to listen to! I have used a few of your tutorials to add to my own skill set for my books. I have been making junk journals a few years now, and I love how I always can learn more and more. That is what makes this medium so interesting and inspiring. Thanks so much for sharing your talents!!
Beautiful journal and I love the digi kit! Thanks for sharing this! I have some Readers Digest journals on my to do list also. Your choice of papers to coordinate with the digi kit are just wonderful! ❤️
Debbie-Anne your work is always meticulous!! This is just beautiful!! Your digitals are just gorgeous once again! I use readers digest a lot for my journals but you truly found them in perfect shape. Wow !! Thank you for sharing and all the inspiration ❤️❤️
I really love what you have done here! I have been so busy for a while, and I haven't seen one of your videos for a spell. But you were the first person I "stumbled" upon who was talking about this thing called "junk journaling'". You were so inspirational that I have been crafting junk journal related things since last March to ride through this storm in which the world has been. I am forever grateful for your influence in my life, even though we don't know each other. You have been an encouragement when you didn't even realize. You helped me through this incredibly dark time and my husband's job loss without even knowing it. And I am inspired once again. Thank you very much. I want you to know that I am praying for Canada... and you. Be blessed! :)
Thank you for this wonderful message. It touched my heart. I'm really happy to have helped you through some difficult times. Creativity is very healing for me and sharing this passion with others gives me joy. Thank you for your prayers and kindness, stay safe xo.
Beautiful journal! This is one of my favorite all time kits that you have created. I just printed this kit and hope to work on it in the next few months. I love how you incorporated some of the art journal magazine pieces into the journal.
I love the idea of a set of RD books to keep on your desk. That's going to be really neat. It's so cool how you are being inspired by the covers and combine papers from digital collections that you've either already created or "have yet to create". That's so exciting!! I was glad to hear that :-)
Love your readers digest junk journal. So many wonderful elements you have added. I need to go to a few estate sales for some cool things. Thank you so very much for sharing your journal with us. :) New subby too. :)
Thanks so much for your spine tutorial...it came at the right time. I just bought some kraft-text for the first time and wanted to know if I could glue it...lol...your time was/is impeccable. Thank you...I love watching your videos and buying from your Etsy Store...
I saw this video up this morning Debbie-Anne but my Grandson arrived for the day so I had to wait 7 hours to watch it and it was well worth the wait. I love your Journals fabulous style, I wish I could make them like this. I got so excited when you turned a page and I saw the bird stamp on the card I thought it was great we both had the same stamp but was very excited to see it was a wee note I had sent you it was very nice of you to include it in one of your gorgeous Journals Thank you :)
Teresa Lafrentz thank you so much Teresa. I absolutely had to include your note because not only do I love birds but it reminds me of your kindness even if we live worlds apart 😊
Lovely journal, I love the simplicity of it. You have inspired me to use the last book my mom was reading before she passed. I plan to make a journal in honor of her that can be passed down through time to the future generations. It was a hard cover book so I think it will work well and be quite durable. I'm going to check out your video on the spine. So thank you very much for the inspiration. Your new subie in Guam 💞💫 🌴🌺🌴🌺🌴🌺🌴
Gorgeous work! I love EVERY page and WHY you include what you do!! So pretty.... this one gets my 'drool' star : )) Of course you know I am still trying to buy that tattered glue book you made : )))) even though you were so clear it ain't for sale : ))). beautiful art as always - TFS!! xRenee
Love this idea. As a child my Mom subscribed to the Readers Digest book series. Wish now she had held onto them. I read most of them as a teen even though my English teacher thought they were blasphemy because they were "condensed" versions. Hope you find time to complete your plan - they would be lvely "lool thrus".
A girl after my own heart, lol! I've been collecting Reader's Digest books for a long time, with the same intention, but have I done it yet? Nope! Love your journal and printable designs!
Lovely work. Congratulations!j I happen to have some of those books, but I'm so attached to them, that I cannot find it in me to take them apart....I am always looking for foreign language books. If I cannot read it, I can alter it.
Love, love, love your exquisite journals and the beautiful digital images you sell. Like so many who have commented before, I too love your very soothing voice. I am interested in purchasing some of the digi kits but I cannot imagine the ink it would take to print these from home. Have you or any of your customers sent these images to be printed to a Staples or some other office supply business?
Thank you! Yes, ppl do take the files to a copy centre, although it's not as costly as one might think to print at home. Here's some info I've provided on my site about paper and printers: www.vintagejunkjournals.com/printables.html
It's pretty journal! I got some of this book from estate sale and the covers are so pretty but the spine cracked so I only can use the front and back cover if I wanna make journals 😔
myhappycraftcorner you could also make a new spine. I've had some RDs from the 50's split as well and I used binder rings. The spines make pretty bookmarks 😊
I love this collection. Thanks for sharing your talent of art with us! Could you give me a link, or tell the name of Teresa's You Tube Channel that you mentioned?
Lovely Debbie as usual! How are you able to find book pages that can be put in your signature so they can be read, vs. having to sew them in with the printed material in landscape mode?
desdogs3 the ones I used here are from smaller books that I was able to take apart by cutting all the original sewn in signatures intact. It left me with double pages with nothing but pin sized holes down the middle where they had been stitched and I removed the thread. Most vintage books can be taken apart this way since they weren't gluing the pages in back then, only stitching them.
i love the sound of your voice. so many videos are noisy and full of laughing and crappy music. i love your simplistic approach and hearing the pages turn too. :)
This is a very pretty journal! Which printer do you print your pages, what weight paper do you use? are the inks with the printer you use cost effective? Thanks
Thanks Debbie for taking time to show us your projects. Summer Prelude is a beautiful paper kit.
I appreciate that Pirjo, thank you!
Miss Deb, i could listen to your voice all day. summer prelude, pink and purple digi birdies are beautiful. love love love your sweet creative talented mind.

thank you so much Donna xo
I just bought a reader digest from that time frame that I am in love with . I think I am going to have to do something like this
Great! Yes, the RD's from the 70's don't split like the ones in the 50's, they used a more flexible material on the spines :)
Love your journals! Do you have a video tutorial on the spine button closure? I would love to see how that's done.
merci magnifique album...
Merci beaucoup!

Thank you! It's called Art Journaling and it's by Stampington & Co.

I think it would be cool to take the titles on the spine and use them as inspiration for each signature.
Wright Blan that is a great idea. It would make a very unique journal!
