Remember having to go to court for a speeding charge and it was held in the court at the Town Hall, think the court in Wellington Square was being refurbished. Late 80's maybe.
Interesting video but a bit better research was needed. Ayr and Kilmarnock Burgh forces did amalgamated into Ayrshire Constabulary in 1968 but Ayr operations were moved to the County Constabulary building in Charlotte St until the new station was opened at King Street.
this definitely needs to be a visitor, it could generate well needed funds for a local charity
Great idea!

I take it you didn’t end up in the cells? 😂
Would you visit the jail cells if it was a public attraction?
I'd like to visit the jail
Yes I would visit. An ancestor spent a week there in 1890 for assault and theft
Wow, there’s a few names scratched on the walls, might be worth a look!

Thanks, you learn something new everyday!
Another great video, well done
Thanks for watching 👍
Would like to see the Tunnels of Ayr and all the 14 Ports around the town
That sounds really interesting, we’ll need to do a bit of research on that 👀
Corney and Barrow on Academy Lane, Ayr has a small part of the tunnels as a wine store. So a good place to start
Very interesting thanks!
