My mother lived on her own with 5 children worked doing cleaning from the 1960s to the late 1990s when she retired she buy her own home had savings and had the home decorated and refurbished to her desire the garden is nice and quiet where she can go and sit when the weather is good she is 89 years old now has 4 daughters two of them take turns taking care of her on a daily basis she also gets help from one of my sisters husband who is a carpenter and self employed he does any work around the home that needs doing my brother is deceased but left 3 boys and one daughter that are doing very well for themselves my mother live to see her grandchildren 8 and great grans 10 that I know of she has lived a very comfortable life all her friends that I know have deceased and there husbands only one had a big house the rest lived in social housing but none did as good as my mother living on her own with us having a man does not necessarily makes life easier or better sometimes you better off by yourself if my mother leaves us she have her inheritance children grandchildren and great grands to carry on her legacy and she has lived long enough to see the fruit age of her labour not many people can say that
