    When I have a panic attack in the night, I watch your panic attack video, I make a mint tea (mint tea is a natural remedy for upset stomach) and I open the window and breath. Your videos have seriously been the biggest help for the past year and I'd like you to know that I'm so grateful for your help. It really does help! Much love from the Czech Republic❤️

    To whomever asked about anxiety pains: YES they are absolutely a real thing, and are very common! Not only can anxiety manifest in physical symptoms, but being on such high alert causes unusual tension in your muscles and joints, and can cause you to wrench your muscles, ribs, shoulders, neck, and any of your joints just by moving how you normally would.

    My emetophobia is a bit better now, but still not great. I do go to therapy which does help. When I was in elementary school, before I knew what emetophobia even was, someone “got sick” in my classroom, and I cried until I went home. Throughout elementary school I was always crying and going to the nurses. My mind is always spiraling. For example at the Arianna concert I would have heard “she doesn’t wanna be here” and be thinking of every “what if”. Even watching new shows and movies, I’m always thinking about what ifs. Hope someone reads this and understands that they aren’t alone.

    I have a similar experience I was pleasantly surprised with how well I dealt with it! My friend and I went to a concert and she felt unwell because of anxiety (we are such an awkward match its almost funny bc I have emet and she feels ill when shes anxious lol rip us) anyway normally I would have yeeted away but I stayed and we had a good time at the end. It was scary but I am happy I got through it.

    I discovered your videos through your emetophobia talk and while I haven't really begun to work on my phobia, I have made small steps on my own too! 1. I've been talking myself down when I feel sick from my anxiety to make sure I don't jump straight into thinking I'm getting sick and 2. I laughed at someone gagging during a joke! Twice! Woohoo!

    I literally found your channel during a pretty bad insomnia night and it’s sooo relieving to know there’s someone out there making people aware of this terrible phobia. I’ve watched greys anatomy (ironically) 5 times to help me calm down and play the sims. I don’t go to big events, get on buses, eat before something important and I miss a lot of college classes.... it’s so hard and frustrating! Cheers from Colombia!

    My emetophobia has made me afraid to have kids. Like it is the one reason I’ve convinced myself I don’t want kids. I know exposure therapy can help, and I know everyone tells me “oh you’ll get used to it. They’re your kids and you have no choice” but what if I can’t? What if I shut down and run and can’t do it? I always hope I’ll find someone who has the phobia and has kids, but it really bothers me. :(

    I went to a concert in december and some guy behind us was very drunk and was in a terrible mood to the point where he was crying. When the concert started we decided to move behind them because I was uncomfortable with him being that drunk behind me and he ended up leaving with a friend and only the friend came back. I went to get merch between a song and there was a pile of v* on the stairs. I surprisingly didn’t have a panic attack. My heart definitely dropped but I was okay!

    I had a similar episode during Muse's concert in rome In July. A friend of my boyfriend T.U. next to us and I started shaking and hyperventilating. Luckily we menaged to move a little bit far from that spot,but I was constantly afraid that she could do it again, she also apologized to me and I felt so so wrong!I told her that I have this damn phobia and there was nothing she had to apologize for! I didn't enjoy the concert 100%, because of the constant thought and I admit it, I still think about this episode.. I just hope it will get better.

    Guys like most of you I’ve had emetophobia since I don’t remember. And like I wasn’t getting sick for 7 years until this year... 4 months ago I caught a cold and then it happend 2 times. So somerhing changed in some way. Was I scared more or less?? I don’t know... Then everything was okay for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks I started feeling bad like my stomach and stuff so I went to the doctor and she said I have gastritis. So I couldn’t eat anything for a while and I lost 7 kilos in 2 months. My mom started to panic, I started to panic. Right now 4 months passed and my gastritis is killing me and there is nothing I can do to feel better like my mom keeps saying İf you make yourself “that word” you’ll feel better but I am sooo sooo scared for it and eveey night It wakes me up from my sleep... now that it happend begore I feel like It can happen everday everytime and everywhere and that gices me so much anxiety please help me guys....

    The best thing I ever did was get drunk and V from that. Im not encouraging drinking, however, for me personally it helped. I was able to not focus on the build up so much, that when it happened, it wasnt as scary as I thought it was going to be, and was over quickly. And after I did V, I was still merry and so proud of myself for having done it. The only fear i now have is the build up to it while sober (which i still haven’t had). But when i get to the point of actually V-ing, I don’t feel so panicked about it.

    Hello! I have a few questions for my Emetophobia, but I should give my backstory for this phobia. My phobia first started when I was in kindergarten, when one classmate got sick behind me in class. I had a huge panic attack that lasted almost an hour. Then the following year, a different classmate got sick in front of me, but I panicked on the inside, and stayed in my chair. In second grade, yet another classmate was sick in front of me, but I didn’t really notice since I was not paying attention to my surroundings. In 3rd grade, I was the unfortunate one who managed to get sick in front of half my school, which scarred my memory. In fourth and fifth grades, my friend got sick, but I was absent for those days. In sixth grade, I was sick again, but at home instead of school. In 7th grade, one of my closest friends got sick in front of me, the day of his concert, so he had to miss it. There was blood in it as well, so that also started my hemophobia. In 8th grade (last year) one of my classmates, who happens to be one of my friends, got sick at least 3 times a month, and I was there to see several episodes of it... this is my first year in high school, and if you didn’t notice, each time I was sick was 3 years apart, which means this is the third year again, which means I am going to get sick this year. I don’t want to get sick on stage, especially since it would destroy my instrument... what do I do if that happens? Also, I feel nauseous daily, and usually feel the gaggy feeling in the back of my throat, are these signs of this happening soon? What are some telltale signs that come hours before it actually happens? Any answers will be appreciated!

    • @toriginter1360
      @toriginter1360 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Forest, the nausea and gagging feeling that you feel each day is just anxiety not a sign that you’ll get sick. You can go years and years without getting sick it’s your body’s LAST resort. If you wanna be cautious about not getting sick for your school year always wash your hands with hot water and soap NOT HAND SANITIZER, hand sanitizer only gets rid of cold germs not flu. Have some tums or gravol on you, peppermint oil to put on your tummy if it’s upset, take oil of oregano (can’t stress this one enough) and drink mint tea helps!

    • @alvalind3874
      @alvalind3874 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Time doesn’t matter. Just because it was 3 years apart the last times you got sick, that doesn’t mean that it will happen this year.
      The daily nausea is probably just caused by anxiety so no, it is not a sign of it about to happen.

    • @alvalind3874
      @alvalind3874 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tori Ginter I would not recommend washing your hands daily and try to avoid getting sick since it will make the phobia even worse.
      But of course, if you don’t care about the phobia getting worse then you can do it if you really wanna try to avoid it🤷🏼‍♀️

    i developed emetophobia after two different traumatic events that happened at my work involving someone v* . I work in a gas station so there is one singular room and I was stuck behind the counter ringing people so I wasn't able to escape, the second time I had a panic attack and had to leave work early. Ever since then I've had a somewhat fear and anxiety around going to work because I am so terrified these things will happen or I will get ill at work. I have random bouts of n* that I am not sure are medical, anxiety or a combination and its so stressful. I wear plastic gloves at work because I feel a bit safer knowing there is a barrier between me and the other things I am handling. I am just so tired of living like this I wish I could just stop.
