Saw them live last November here in Mexico City and I can tell the audio from the live videos are different from watching them real live. They rock that much and Clem has such attitude on stage! She really has a nice voice.
I think the reason people are dissing the vocals is that Clementine is so hard hitting and driving in the studio version. *I TOLD YOOOOOUUUUUUU*. Here she goes from a 1 to a 10 back to a 1, it's playful I realize, but it's kind of feels out of left field. Not everybody can be Thom Yorke in this respect.
It took me a while to really appreciate their music. About the vocals yeah, they are so so and a bit off but they're all doing so much live acoustically (which sounds wonderful) so it's not easy to be on point with the vocals at the same time. They are true rockers tho.

So much angry people comments, by my said i just enjoyed with the singer, is the first song that i listened of them and is really good. Adult swim bring me here and i can say that this is not wasted time :)
She sounds like she's singing from the top of her throat and not from her diaphragm. She sounds out of breath with her voice all shakey and whispy when she's hitting the high notes.
I love clem, I've spammed my feed with her pics, but I think she isn't suitable as the frontwoman. I'm not saying that it's bad or I don't love it, but this doesn't bring out the max potential in them, as clementine didn't even want to be the frontwoman in the first place. Amazing solo, amazing song writing, powerful energy and it just makes you feel good. But if you criticize it from the aspect of musical quality, the vocals can contribute alot more. I'm not complaining in the slightest, I just want to give an opinion on the insight of why some people aren't satisfied with this version.
