The metal ruler are usually 1" wide
I buy acid brushes from HF as a once use and then throw it away
I use medium frames and reuse them every year without a starter strips for follow on years.
    Wax doesn't dry. It solidifies.

A good method without the starter strip is to put a popsicle stick dipped in wax into the seam if you have a normal size gap for foundation at the top of the frame as well. Happy Spring!

I've been doing bees 20 years... some comb here and there the last 5 or 6 and love the spoon idea. My frames have a wedge bar but that may change. That looked much easier. We get $18 a cut.

comb honey is such a good money maker for honey, i sold out of my 1 super of cut comb by november i think. also, betterbee makes a shallow comb honey frame with a full gap at the top bar that you can use to spread open and slip the wax into and pinches it in place.

I use a copper stub out ,angled end has a finger hole, rubber handle ....like the old days you control the wax flow, along the foundation or starter to dribble a bead of wax along the edge gluing it in...cool video natalee

Try a stainless steel straw with the curved end. Hold finger over end and then hold frame over crock pot and release finger off end of straw, works great. Then you can leave straw in crock pot to keep warm. Just 3/4 pot of wax though or straw get too hot to touch. Keep up videos, your an awesome inspiration!

Hi Natalee. Have you seen the (2) nails in a board method for installing the wax foundation into the split frame? The great Mike Palmer has a video showing this method. The nails are spaced about 3/8" apart and in line. Clamp the board to your work table. Push the split frame over the nails and then turn the frame 90 degrees. That spreads the split frame apart. Insert the wax foundation and then pick up the frame. The split frame springs shut pinching the wax foundation in place. When applying hot wax, hold the frame above the area that you are applying the hot wax. If a drip of hot wax runs off and onto your hand, you are going to get a bad burn. Otherwise, great video. Thanks for your tips.

I use a soldering iron and a strip of wax . Put wax strip in and can solder the wax strip in. And use extra strip to melt more wax into Crack where wax strip is.

7k subs! you go girl! I been debating of trying something like what you showed here. So far only been using plastic foundations and having mixed feelings. Thanks for an easy to follow vid!

I’m requesting wax dipped shallows at the expo! I dip my old wire super frames I swap to plastic foundation in a deep bucket of boiling water on a grille and it comes off super quick

I wonder how a sewing fabric rolling cutter would cut that comb nicer than the knife ?
