Cheers Purple, looks like the Roof Trusses are starting to sag and pushing against that Gable end. Emergency repair needed before the Gable comes down. I remember when Witworths had it, they did spend some money on it but that was ages ago. Get some feathers ruffled buddy, when they’re gone they are gone. All the best.
It can done! Saved, restored and re-purposed. I come from Derbyshire and we moved down to Rushden a few tears ago. Take a look at Derby Roundhouse and Barrow Hill, Chesterfield Roundhouse to see what has been achieved with their Roundhouses.
It's not the first crumbling listed building in Wellingborough - there used to be one that Tresham Institute used to 'look after' on Church Street to do with the old shoe trade. They wanted to turn it in to a car park but were told they couldn't as it was listed so they just let it fall in to disrepair, they then had a survey done to say it was unsafe so they had no choice to demolish it to make room for the car park they wanted!
@@PurpleVision23 Please do. I hope you don't mind, but I sent your video to EH, lottery and NRM to illustrate. Apparently, you need to get in touch with the local council to get a grant from the heritage lottery and stuff. Owners of listed buildings have no obligation to maintain the buildings, according to Historic England. What a sad state of affairs.
Right now I thought to do this but I ain't helping Stanton Cross development in any way. Doing a drone survey will cost them a bomb and too right it should too. I can't tell ya what to do but I'd prefer you didn't save them the £2k and surveyed it. Get it filmed by all means but don't go up close for detail. Make them pay
I understand that the building has local listing status, an application for national listing having been rejected some years ago. If that's the case, then the developer would need to apply to the council for planning permission to knock it down. I am not a planning expert, but presumably there would then be a consultation period, giving the local community the opportunity to pile in and register their formal objections. Which is why they are maybe waiting for it to fall down instead........
Hi purple 🤨i wonder if the wet has got into the wooden roof structure,it then expands and pushes the gable out🤔if it deteriorates too much they won't want to restore the building 😢😢😢
I say they set up a gofund me or fundraiser to renovate it into a midland main line railway museum and move all the bits Wellingborough museum have of the railway into it, maybe let Northampton and Lamport Railway store some of their excess rolling stock in there on display. Shane about the gable.
Ok. I won’t put the close up footage anywhere but i might be putting some still photos up. I can send you some footage if you like, and you can do with it as you like 👍
No bud you done an amazing job. Im working on an appeal edit with you tagged all over it. Do you mind if I email your video over to Wellingborough Civic Society. I don't like that drop on the roof where the gable went
Developers don't care about history and keeping anything historical, Stanton Cross is just a maze of houses, packed in together that just seems to keep expanding, I really dislike driving that way to work and seeing everything expand with diggers etc, where has our green and pleasant land gone??

Yh needs attention asap

Of course it can be done. Its why im giving it attention
So sad to see a wonderful historical building like that crumbling away.
All for the sake of new housing, they neglect it

Thats why we gotta do something
Well said. Bombard English heritage, Historic England, and National Railway Museum with e-mails.
I'm making an appeal video to send off to the developer first. Just to see if there is something we residents can do to help

I thought you said, Bogus Homes. lol
Might take a visit down there and do a bit of an aerial survey 👍

They know I'll kick off basically 😂 That can't be allowed to happen

Thats why we must let people know about this
Itll be left until it falls down then Bovis homes will be able to build on it
Not in my god damned lifetime. Nope, no sir e. No

Thats my vision and if we keep seeing it. IT WILL HAPPEN

Lovely stuff bud. Have you put a video up on your channel? I can copy it from there if that's alright.
Yeah I’ve sent you a video. Use it as you want. If it helps save the old buildings. Your doing a great job 👍

@@PurpleVision23 hiya. No problems,if it helps do whatever you like with the footage. Did you get the video i sent you via messenger
There probably waiting for it to fall down so they can build on it i hope it gets saved
I think that's their intentions too

The green pleasant land is just behind it all and we are told that we are not allowed to use it. Even the old Mill road Footpath
You need to find a use for the building and then you can look for funding from the likes of the National Lottery etc.
Yes railway heritage centre
Bovis homes have no money. 🙄🐂💩
I know right
