Thank you so much for this tutorial. I made it myself and it turned out great, so I gave it to my friend because she loves tangled. She loved my gift sooo much and was very thankful. Your tutorial was very easy to follow, thanks for making her gift possible!
omg Rapunzel is stunning your are so unique I would like to make this for granddaughter she love more tiny things around her room she only 7 do you bake it?
Where can I buy polymer Clay because I'm from Philippines. do you think polymer clay can be soled in toy kingdome i wanna do arts too!, plus i love you're arts. do more.
Helpful tip.... you dont need to tell us every single little thing you're doing. If you're adding another piece of hair, great!but you dont need to tell us if thats the 3rd piece in a row.some different things you could say as you are doing that could be,"Continue to add more hair until it has the same volume."or "im going to add more hair until it looks right. "
You can do it before or after. I tend to do it before just because if I mess up, it's easier to remove with rubbing alcohol. Most people paint after it is baked though.
Shy Melon actually, that's not how to make it shiny. making it shine with nail polish will actually make it sticky. Believe me, I tried that and it didn't work. You can glaze it with sculpey gloss glaze. you can find it at Michael's :3
Rapunzel took me roughly 5 hours. It was well worth it! To be honest, when I sculpt, I always lose track of time because I get very concentrated into the piece that I'm working on. Thus, it doesn't seem like 5 hours to me at all. It always feels like 1 hour.
I had the EXACT same thought as you when I was a polymer clay beginner. Don't ever give up! When I first started clay, I couldn't even make a simple cake! My cakes were literally covered in a bunch of dust, the layers were completely uneven, and the textures were soooo bad. My friends and family didn't even know they were supposed to be cakes. They thought I was trying to "marble" clay. LOL! However, I didn't care because it was the process of making my pieces that was soooo fun. I didn't care that my cakes looked bad; I just loved the process of making it. This pretty much happened to every one of my pieces, including the figurines/chibis. My chibis had uneven eyes that bulged out; I couldn't paint the eyes and smile because I was really bad at painting, so I sculpted it with clay instead. However, I got better because it was the fun process of making a polymer clay piece that really drove me on. Before I knew it, I got a lot better.^^ Don't ever give up. If you keep practicing and having FUN while doing it then you WILL get better. I promise! It's not about the outcome of your piece; it's about the fun.
Jamie Du I use a Q-Tip dipped in rubbing alcohol. You just rub the Q-Tip on the spot with dust. Even with rubbing alcohol, I still find some of my chibis/charms with some dust on it. LOL. You just can't see it very well on camera. :D
Gwendolyn Moriarti Mulan actually is a Disney princess (maybe not a royal one, but she IS included in the official Disney Princess line-up, and is considered a princess). :)
