New for 2024 Gen Integrate 8X's all have stainless steel hardware. Including an allen head on the elevation micro adjust screw, so you can now micro adjust the elevation with an allen key from the top or bottom(both). And yes, the new 2024 design does fit on all Mathews IMS bows with the detachable low pro quiver and you don't remove any arrows. There is about a 1/4" of clearance from the arrow rest to the arrows(could vary with the diameter of the arrows you shoot). One last thing that wasn't done on the video, you should always tighten down the set screw on the IMS bracket to the riser, so you know it is rock solid.
Are they charging more for stainless steel? It shouldn't cost extra, in my opinion. It's like Mathews finally using a good string on their best bows. Why do we let companies rip us off? Shouldn't all bow sights, rests, or bolts on a bow be stainless?
No, there is no extra cost for stainless steel hardware. It is now standard in all their arrow rests for 2024. This will help with longevity and prevent any rust forming on your hardware when exposed to the elements. Now your hardware will last as long as the rest.@@Favorites2499
@@jonathanharpe4333 Vapor trail anything that ended in a x is micro adjust. They had the Gen 8 x already this is their newest one. I would call. It a gen8x version 2
I'm shooting Gen 7 on my primary Darton Pro 3800 (yes I know 12yr old bow) and have a Gen 8 intergrate on my Veracity 35 backup bow. I've shot VT for many years though. I just trust them...never a failure in whitetail or elk woods.
I have used vapor trail for years and love them. Them and Hamskea make the best rest I've seen for hunting. You should be carrying them. They like the big marketing the other companies have but that's the only reason they aren't more known.
I run this on Mathews with the detachable quiver and there is 1/4”’clearance and no arrows contact rest. Also the thumb knob for up and down adjustment has an Allen head build into it so you adjust it with fingers or allen wrench. You access the Allen head from the bottom so adjusting it up and down would be smooth like the right and left adjustment.
My first real rest that IS NOT a whisker biscuit was a vapor trail pro-v. I ran it for indoor spots for the longest time until I started wanting a rest that can be tied to both the top and bottom limb. Ultimately opted for a hamskea rest, but I have had zero issues with my vapor trail. Very nice, very quiet. They even have a good selection of strings.
I've been using a Pro V, Gen 7, and currently a Gen 7X for several years now and they are excellent rests. Light weight, easy to use, and quiet. I run mine to the top limb and it never gets in my sight picture and the cord is protected by the quiver that way.
I've always liked the Vapor trail pro V. I have them on two of my Prime bows. Yes you definitely should stock them, they are a great rest and a little more cost effective compared to Hamskea.
Definitely a good product. Have one that came on a Traverse I bought thought for sure I would want to replace it. Been shooting for 3D and TAC for four years and has never failed.
I use that pad on my Xpedite nxt 3d bow riser..i just trim those 2 little shoulders down to about an 1/8" sticking up, does the same job and has clearance with max stealth vanes in a 4 fletch
Thank you MFJJ for the review! Also, thank you to all who commented! FYI, the main purpose of this redesign, was to ensure fitment on Mathews Bows, in conjunction with the Mathews LoPro™ Quiver. The GI8X arrow rest will allow plenty of clearance with the LoPro™ detachable 1-pc and the the LoPro™fixed 2-pc with the spacers. We (Vapor Trail) just posted a new video regarding the update. th-cam.com/video/uyv1Cfqv5M8/w-d-xo.html
I used a nylon guide or a rubber guide and zip tie it to the quiver in my Mathews. And you’re driving the elevation wrong on the rest. The VT GI8 is probably the best rest of the three I have tried on the Mathews.
Also a tip for the football style cord adjustments like the Hamskea rests, I replace the stock cord and the “football” with standard d loop material and tie a prussic knot on the main cord. You can loosen and tighten and loosen and tighten until your hearts’ content and it holds tight when you want it too. Bomb proof in the field too and no tools required.
For the life of me I can’t understand why more people don’t do this, as soon I saw someone do this I tried it and have been using it like that for last year or two vastly better in every way, cord tension doesn’t matter in beginning since you just slightly pull the knot and it’s immediately fully tight again after that never needs adjustment, but when you need work literally a second to relieve pressure to get your levels and second to put back vs dealing with the stupid footballs
@@cadetimothy7149 I can't take original credit for this, I watched it on KOTA and Average Jack Archery's channels. It is the best way in my opinion to have a much more robust and simple to adjust limb driven rest cord IMHO.
MFJJ, you are gonna need to re-do this video until you become more familiar with the product.. I wish you rehearse your stuff beforehand and wing it. There is an Allen wrench for movement up and down and the Mathews detachable quiver fits..
I really liked my Vapor Trail gen7. Sadly when I upgraded to my Elite Remedy it would fit under the roller guard. Roller guards seem to be a common problem for Vapor Trail.
I used two at two TAC events last year and they both kept moving out of tune. That and the rest runs into the cable guards on a few bows so you can't use it on certain bows. I really wanted to like these but there are some bugs to work out.
There is a set screw on the IMS bracket that keeps it in tune/locked to the riser. And regarding cable guard issues, like the Bowtech bows, there are specific Bowtech brackets that accommodate the lower cable guards that interfere with the arrow rest territory on a bow.
Hey love the content, i would be curious if you would review the Dialed arxos sight, and what lighted nocks work on easton axis 4mm long range match grade. Keep on with the great content🤙🏾
so this question is about cutting arrows, what is your recommendation for cutting arrow lengths, not in inches but when you draw back, broadhead sits on the riser, or just in front of it to give the best foc and still stay safe?? thanks..
Its not proprietary, although it can be, as in they make it for mathews or hoyt or universal mount, does anyone use or heard of the schaffer xv rest. Id love to see mfjj do a review on one. I use one on all my bows
How do these rests tune properly since the rest moves down and right in an arc? Wouldn't that throw the arrow to the right? Can someone enlighten me how a rest that swings to the side is a good thing?
nice video, just not sure why you use the football on the hamskea the metal tab is so slick. its hand down the best tensioning adjustment no tools needed.
Why is anyone worried about Mathews fitment? Just say it doesnt fit then talk about the rest, WTF? They sent you a rest and were worried about how it fits on 1 bow? Really?
I shoot a Bowtech. Not a fan of Mathews draw cycle. However, Mathews is on top for a reason. They advertise better and they make a rock solid platform. Yes they are the Apple of the bow world which can be criticized but they are the most popular for a reason

Just double checked, with my GI8x on my lift 29.5 and rip TKOs, I clear the rest completely.
You can use an Allen for the micro for elevation it is just in the knob on the bottom 😎😎
Ive had the same limb driver since 07. Never needed to upgrade my rest.
Same here. Mine just moves bows.

I've always really liked the pro V rests, even more than my hamskeas.
great rests, you should defiantly stock them
Best rest on the market IMO
I love it! One of the best rests out there.
You can drive the vertical with an Allen. It’s in the end of the knob.
I'm a Hamskea guy but if I wasn't I'd be a Vapor Trail guy. You should definitely stock these, great reast!

That’s weird his quiver hits? Mine is the low pro one piece and doesn’t hit my GI8x at all?
MFJJ you must have gotten one of the older models, the 2024 Geni8x does work with the lowpro quiver without any extras
I've been using VT Limbdrivers for years, never had an issue... IMO best rest and by far easiest drop away to set up

Love my Vapor Trail rest. After the first of the year, I’m going to upgrade to a new bow with integration.
It seems like this is the best option for a Limb Driven true IMS rest

Good thing integrated accessories are just a giant gimmick so no need to worry about the Mathews stuff. If you like the rest buy the rest!

People don't give Bear much attention but you can mount any rest and shoot any vane cock vane up, and they match everyone on sound and speed.
