Marantz nailed it...way too expensive for me but they nailed it. Beautiful equipment.
They said something about stepping up to Mark Levinson range.
@@TechnoDad You mean stepping up to become puere snake oil?
Looks very much like successors to the reference series from the early 2000's and on, the MA9-S1, SC7-S1 and SA7-S1 units were and still are awesome pieces. Not exactly 30 or 40 years ago...
Phil is so giddy and geeked up to show these off. Thanks for posting this, Channa. It was a pleasure to watch this (and you) in action!
These new pieces of kit look so cool. I look forward to hearing what they can deliver beyond the PM10 & SA10 which sound terrific.
The Marantz look sheer class.
It does look pretty damn sexy!
All Marantz's look best in champagne or silver. Heck, even the Denon 4800H looks nice in silver (it was in a review and it was stunning compared to the regular chassis). Sadly, they didn't offer them in the US until forever and they are still favoring other markets.
It's Phil!!! Love this man's passion for HT and watching him talk about HT products. That being said. Would love to own one of those beauty's but they are way beyond my price range sadly.
No dual/quad subwoofer outputs? No Dirac Live support? The NAD M66 + M23 is a much cheaper deal with all of the above...
Marantz sound signature is very different than nad.
@@82ivaylo
There is no such thing as a sound signature for audio gear! It's a made-up audiophools' nonsense. Only room acoustics and speakers should impact the sound characteristics and this can be changed using a DSP/room correction.
My old Denoon 4400H and my new Marantz C40 sounds exactly the same post Audyssey calibration using the A1 EVO script...
@@ebarbie5016 In my opinion every component have sound signature, including cables. Sixty pricent of what we hear is room acoustics.
Always great to see no holds barred type stuff even though barring a lottery win I'm not putting down no $15 grand for a preamp.
Yeah, I think it's actually an amp, but I get what you're saying!
Marantz MA9S2 best ever Marantz! Even what HiFi gave it 5* one off the best amp ever heard.
Phil is awesome!
Sure seems to love his job; wouldn’t any of us?
sup joe
@@junior-OG what's up OG
Gorgeous - but way too expensive for me to even think about.
Mine should arrive on the 23rd...
nice
Maybe I missed it, but do the SACD and the Link both have DACs? Or is one or the other a transport? Stunning design and made in Japan 👌🏼
I guess I am the real fan, those other 2 are fugazy. That Marantz looks killer...
It does look great!
So far happy with my Model 30 at a fraction of the price. Nice that Marantz is still pushing the needle.
Im rewatching it for more of the details .. Especially modified Purifi amp modules has SOO much potential. These will have the chance to be better than the NAD M23 amps..
I think the prices are justified.. given all the design aspects. These are definitely designed for the upper end in HiFi Audiophile types..
... I don't hear the deep engineering details I am looking for .. I know maybe Phil is not the guy with all that.
.. Stunning.. This design when the AVRs came out .. I was impressed.. and now to see it at this level products... it's so great! ..
Awesome stuff.
ALSO ... the 3 different power supplies that are all isolated for each of the functions in the amp.. Pre amp .. and 2 power amps..
Im gushing on this one.. it's nice to see Marantz Engineers get their gem.
Well, you can get a McIntosh C55 and C312 for that kind of money. You know something is too expensive when McIntosh separates are about the same price 🙂
Phil is saying just bla bla bla to me. Its japanese engineering and its made in Japan. Only japanese know the engineering aspects.
Will it work i two Ohms? Is the natural aluminium finish standard? I thought it only came in black and gold.
Thanks
🙏🏽
Nice!!! Marantz Good Job!!! 👏 You’re next Sony show us whatcha got 🤣🤣🤣👍
...hahahaha...The AutoBots commented first. 😅😅
This thing look awesome. Lots LOTS of copper..
Dude, it’s on every video, super annoying!
@@TechnoDad - hopefully it does help with algorithm tho ? .. it is some kind of engagement after all..
Why not just block them?
@@joentell Multiple different accounts. Block one and another just pops up.
3.25 The NSX had more than announced too....
I'd buy it
Stunning but at $15K for the integrated amp, I would bet Model 8 / Model 9 tubes amps would be a guaranteed hit ! Also, it's "tolpology"...
I just hope that one of these products has HDMI e-ARC.
I like this guy
his enthusiasm
Ha! Love that “conservative” analogy with the Z. My ‘88 MX6 GT definitely had more hp than the “conservative” rating of 160. lol
Good stuff, Marantz!
Yea, ill tell you what you can do with that porthole
Price will drop. 20% at the least.
I will be in the market for a 10n (or the NAD M66) in about 2 years from now - let’s see how the pricing will have developed till then…
Wow 😲
Gorgeous set of equipment. Channa, did you get to hear how it sounded?
No, unfortunately. Also, it was like in an open area.
@@TechnoDad Should be interesting to see what trickles down to the more affordable lineup.
Nice looking but how can something that small cost $15,000. I can just never get myself to see that much money for something thike that.
Sony done something many years ago e s separates massive mono block amps and super audio compact disc player
Remember this amp will give you much more enjoyment than your divorce and it won't complain when you come in late at night better to get rid of the wife before you get rid of this amp, and remember you may think it's about investment but it can always be sold off and used for a funeral costs as you can't take it with you
😂
In this price range, who in their right minds will pick a marantz over accuphase and luxman?
Me
@@ralex3697 that's sad
Is it better than NAD M33? NAD uses purified class D amplifier.
Could well be - have to await the first detailed press reviews…
The M33 (there will be a v2) still represents a lot of value for your money (at its reasonable price point) 😊
Still using the HEOS platform without Qobuz...?
I found this piece of information re. the new 10n pre-amp / streamer (expected price point: USD 12k):
HEOS® Built-in
Enjoy limitless connectivity with HEOS® Built-in. Stream in high resolution from today’s leading music platforms and enjoy high resolution digital audio files up to 24-bit
192kHz sampling. Numerous streaming services and technologies are supported including TIDAL Max, AirPlay 2, and more
@@SirMountainpass Thanks for the information. Currently HEOS does not support Qobuz, which is the streaming service I use. To be competitive at 12k$, Marantz must improve here.
@@hans-ingo3039
So the „and more“ still misses out on Qobuz - I also agree that Marantz will have to make an effort here…
Was the new denon avc-a10h there
No…
Purifi or toroidal - that big dome inside screams toroidal.
I wonder how this compares to Yamaha's top end stack
The 5000 series will probably hold up quite well, but they have nothing else to offer. No SACD player, no streamer, no nothing.
It will be a huge bargin if its at $10k, but for $15k???? I got a lot more options...
There are quite a few in that upper price range
Meh. I'll wait for the Marantz Model 00 Googlephonic with the moonrock needle. My bedroom needs a new system..
Tinfoil hat alert: Why in the world would a healthcare technology company buy many home audio companies? Marantz, B&W, etc all owned by Masimo.
15000$ ? sorry although is beautiful machined, i'm sure there are plenty of other options with the same sound quality & at a fraction of the price
You could say the thing about the iPhone or the Samsung Galaxy S2 4+ it's not just about what's gone in there it's about the class of the object. People appreciate stuff like these amplifiers like they appreciate a glass of fine the aged whiskey or a nice bottle of finally aged wine. This amp is pure class it has style and elegance and an air of I can afford it written all over it if you can afford to buy this amp you can afford to enjoy it.
@@MrAnon-q1o dude, it's just a marantz
You have some Turntables that cost that much…I know there’s one I want that cost $16k….smh 😢
@@MrAnon-q1o to be honest, as good as this looks, big brands will spend a ton of money on styling, use top of the line components, and then do something that ruins it all. All the fancy machining and copper shielding wont help a bit if it has fatal flaws. If you look at independent testing of high end brands like Martantz, Anthem, Emotiva, even Chord, they mostly do miserably during testing. things like channels not being balanced, ground faults, noise, etc. Suprisingly Chord Being the most expensive, is also the worst offender. a teardown of their 24,000 dollar DAC Dave, showed that it isnt really worth a fraction of its price, and is easily bested by a High end Chinese DAC that costs around 900 dollars. people my cringe at Chinese HI-FI but numbers dont lie. I would wait to see what independent testing says about this setup before dropping an arm and a leg for it. lastly, most people hide these things in an audio cabinet, so why do i need all that fancy appearance stuff. all i am after is high quality sound.
@@MrAnon-q1o also electronics dont appreciate over time, they lose quality after burn in. capacitors dry up, thermal compounds on the amplification stage heat sinks dry up. oled displays burn in. also if i could afford this amp, i would buy something better.
Too much.
3 big NO, too expensive, too big, too complicated, 1 big YES, for whoever money is no object...The thing is the Purifi module can be put in a box as light as half filled rubbish bin but still powerful enough...
Or your too poor? If its Mcintosh it be 10 times the price.
@@trueseeker262 ohh the rich man is here, shut up bro, nobody believes u
I prefer my Rogue Audio and Conrad Johnson components.
@@trueseeker262 Yes, I'm just normal citizen :P
Can't afford it,buy a cheaper product 😅
What's the point of all this introduction without hearing a demo?
It is pointless.
Anyway thanks.
