SO agree. He is like beyond music nerd into slightly autistic level nerdiness. Never considered "tuning the drums to the song" before this but makes total sense now.
God, I LOVED T-Ride and Eric's production was genius. I've got a project that'll be out of control huge and we're coming to you, Eric. First choice. Watching this just confirms you've got a verrrrry unusual brain and I want to soak some of that up!
Hey, mom wanted me to be a architect, but I drop off college at 22 and went to a tech school and did what i love doing. Now, am 24 graduated from audio engineer. You still have time. Audio engineer takes Max 2 years for an AS Degree. It took me 1 year in Orlando FL. It's always good to specialize yourself in something you love. I left black suit and money to be stuck with a T-shirt and Jeans flipping knobs and making miracles sometimes, but it all worth. I have seen people older then you there.
hotcurry99 It's a no brainer. Why create problems to fix with plugins that degrade could potentially degrade the quality. Mic placement is an art in itself. Something I'm still learning. It's all trial and error.
Insane! This guy's like the modern day Da Vinci for music production. I want that robot :-)

@ 2:18 the drumbrella sounds like something Will Ferrall would say in the movie "Anchorman"
Love the J-37 "plug-in"! Cool walk-through.

Dude...a Varicoustic is not Bobo. If yours sounds lo fi or boboish, something's wrong with it. That mic is internally the same as a 44.

Why bother with the mic robot? You can just adjust the EQ after the recording! ;)
Because many believe it is always best to get as close to the sound you want from the source. I also believe in this method.
