- Quinta Brunson on the success of her new ABC show “Abbott Elementary,” incorporating a lot of Philadelphia references into it, Jimmy being one of the first fans of the show, the differences between working at the Apple Store in Philadelphia and Los Angeles, and we tracked down the amazing 6th grade teacher that Quinta named “Abbott Elementary” after to surprise Quinta and congratulate Ms. Abbott on her retirement with a special gift.

This show is freaking hilarious. My mother is a retired elementary school teacher of 30+ years and when I tell you everything that happens in this show is exactly what happens in the urban public school system I MEAN IT 😂 the whole cast is so funny and talented, if you ain’t seen it you’re missing out. Got my mom and some friends addicted to it. We have watch parties every Tuesday at my house . Don’t let this show flop y’all we need multiple more seasons. Tuesday nights just got a whole lot funnier with Abbott📚✏️✂️
Thank you Quinta for representing Philly. My son had Ms. Abbot in 6th grade as well. He attended Hamilton Elementary. Ms. Abbot is a phenomenal educator, woman of excellence and a rare jewel!

I'm not one to cry over talk shows, but seeing Quinta and her teacher praise each other, that got me. It makes me so thankful I chose to be a teacher, that's the kind of impact I hope to one day have on the students that attend my classes!
From "He got money" to Buzzfeed to Black Lady Sketch Show to her own show, I continue to be such a big fan of Quinta! Her continued success is so inspiring and I am so glad that the show is receiving praise while it continues to debut!
I will write this a million times I met Quinta in 9th grade she was in 11th and she was my step team captain and the only person who was oh so nice to me as a incoming student! She is as nice and as wonderful as she seems! Proud of you QBZ❣️

I just thought of 3 very important teachers from my days of academia and I was fortunate to have been taught by some of the very best.

I'm so excited for my Sister in Christ Joyce Abbott having a show named after her by one of her former students. That shows you the level of dedication Joyce had and still has for her students. Well done Joyce! So proud of you!

OMG you’re crying I’m not crying! So happy Ms. Abbott got her flowers! Teachers especially Black teachers who teach primarily Black students in urban areas are usually those kids first heroes!
