मालशेज घाट, 700 मीटर की औसत ऊंचाई के साथ, पुणे और ठाणे जिलों की सीमा के पास पुणे जिले में स्थित है। यह पुणे से 130 किमी उत्तर में और मुंबई से उत्तर पूर्व की ओर 154 किमी की दूरी पर है। निकटतम रेलवे स्टेशन ठाणे जिले में कल्याण या मुंबई के पास कर्जत है। निकटतम राज्य परिवहन बस स्टेशन जुन्नर, पुणे में है। कल्याण रेल स्टेशन से, कल्याण और अहमदनगर के बीच अक्सर आने वाली सरकारी बसें ली जा सकती हैं। रेलवे स्टेशन के ठीक बगल में स्टेट बस स्टेशन है। अहमदनगर जाने वाली कोई भी बस मालशेज घाट पर रुकेगी। कल्याण से बस द्वारा लगभग 1.5 घंटे लगेंगे। सड़क मार्ग से मालशेज घाट जाने के लिए पुणे से पुणे-नासिक राजमार्ग (एनएच-50) को नारायणगांव ले जाएं और सड़क को ओटुर की ओर मोड़ें जो कल्याण की ओर कल्याण-अहमदनगर राजमार्ग (एसएच-222) से जुड़ेगी। मुंबई से, NH3 को भिवंडी ले जाएं और मुरबाड की ओर मुड़ें या कल्याण, मुरबाद, सरलगांव और tokawade होते हुए स्टेट हाईवे लें। यह मानसून के दौरान भूस्खलन के लिए जाना जाता है।
Around Malshej Ghat
A nice view of valleys is one of the major attraction here. It is also famous for dark woods and the animals inside. These animals includes tigers, leopards, rabbits and peacocks etc. But truly a famous place near Malshej Ghat is Khireshwar which is 2/3 km from rest house. Through Khireshwar village, one can visit the famous Harishchandragadh also. One of the beauties here are many waterfalls in the hilly regions. Various waterfalls from small up to the huge ones are really worth to see and many are right next to the highway.
