You got a great deal, the ammo for range use was well worth it. Always get what is comfortable in your hands. In this instance, I opted for the g17 gen 5, because it fit my hands very well.

Each of the beaver tail backstraps will add 0.08” from the back of the gun to the face of the trigger. My hands are on the larger side, so I usually run the medium or large backstrap depending on the gun. Since it’s your first GLOCK, just remember to use the longer pin with the beaver tail backstrap, not the one that is currently in the gun. Congrats on your new gun. The price you paid for the gun is fair, especially from a bricks and mortar gun store. Shoot the gun for a while before you decide to change anything. I prefer a fiber optic front sight and black rear sight on all of my guns.

I’ve owned a lot of guns and I’ve been shooting, carrying, and competing with GLOCKs for decades. Over that time, I’ve tried a lot of different parts, but other than adding sights that I like and using a GLOCK OEM minus connector in some guns, I don’t make any other changes. The vast majority of changes really don’t help when you compare how you perform before the change(s) and after. And stick with GLOCK mags!

I think it depends on hand size and if u are wanting to carry it. I personally think the 19x is too big to carry for me but if ur a bigger guy and wear baggier clothes im sure u wouldn’t have a problem.

Don’t get me wrong I just brought a G20 for the collection but it wasn’t my first pistol… it’s a Glock so it stands on its name but they feel so cheap in hand compared to other guns and sights are trash!! For future reference, try and always get the MOS cut-out. It's a little bit extra but worth having it for if you ever decide to get a red sight.

I personally am not a huge fan of optics on pistols. So I couldn’t really justify spending another 150-200 just for that reason.
