When it snows, there’s no terrain I’d rather ski than Mad River Glen. Absolutely epic on a powder day, and the chillest vibes of any ski mountain anywhere.
going to splitboard up the ridgeline one day saw an old video of snowboarders poching it and the ski patrol was really nice to them and didnt stop them from hiking up. i will try to get in and out before they open i just want to ride it once
@@Arktls12 nicee=] . I met a dude camping out after a day at sugarbuch a few weeks ago and hes a snowboarder and he works at mad river. they were paying him even though theirs no snow. seems like a super awesome place
Contrary to popular opinion, here in northern Vermont we get a LOT of powder days! The whole “ice coast” thing is a misconception from people who either don’t live here or can’t get out on the good days. We get our share of crappy days too, but I’ve seen plenty of clips from Colorado, the Tetons and the Pacific north-west of folks skiing ice, death crust and other mank…everybody has good days AND bad!
@@johns3106 The whole Ice Coast thing is definitely not a misconception, and my day count's in the 60s. Although we definitely get a worse rap then we deserve, we do get a ton of powder, especially if you know where to look. I'm fine with the misconceptions though as long as it keeps a few people away.
I never see skiers side-slipping down a trail that’s over their ability, but I see snowboarders doing it all the time! That’s why so many skiers don’t want them!
@@johns3106 no it goes way back to the 70’s where skiers thought they were an elite class and they didn’t want to share the hill with others. How come there’s no snowboard only mountains? Cause we don’t have an inflated ego like you folks do.
@@johns3106 I see skiers sideslipping and even rocking the pizza down chutes at my local resort, ruining them for everybody. Snowboarders are just as liable to do it, but your attitude is what makes the difference. Get your two planks out of the park then, stop ruining all of the lips and ramps. See we can do it too lol. The only real reason resorts like MRG restrict snowboarders is they want to limit the amount of people on the slopes under a fake ideology of nostalgia reminding them of the good ole days. Shareholders be damned. It was 1995 when the last vote happened, shortly before snowboarding literally saved the ski industry in the late 90's. Have some respect, share the slopes and don't participate in what is essentially snowsports apartheid.
@@johns3106 shitty skiers/riders will always side slip down. It's not a snowboarder thing. It's a beginner thing. Might as well ban beginners. But why deprive anyone from the joy of shredding the stoke! If you seek to avoid the beginner crowds get a touring set up.
Can not wait for ski season, MRG really is a spiritual experience. The best place on planet earth

Mad River Glen locals ski hockey rink ice like it's packed powder. I've never seen ice skiing skills like that anywhere else.

The ski patrol and staff are chill. They just won’t sell a rider a ticket but anyone is welcome to hike up

Was gonna watch but then remembered their snowboard policy. So hateful.

the top of the main chair is a sideways unload that would be very awkward to do on a snowboard. just learn to ski
