Anyone can be a good interviewer, you can train for it and practice, but some people have a natural talent of conducting good interviews. Like Shannon as you said. To be a journalist, however, there are subjects such as sociolinguistics (where you learn about the importance of using the right words, different layers of words in different communities, history of words…) journalistic ethics, politics, psychology, stylistics and esthetics, logic and rhetorical skills, philosophy, popular culture, news and network landscape, research etc… So Shannon might be a good interviewer, but he is faaaaaar from a journalist (let’s remember his interview with Amanda Seales) But as a good interviewer you can indeed uncover truth or expose truths. But please have some respect for the methodology & acquired knowledge of a true craft and the only profession protected by universal principle of free speech (in theory)

As a producer and show host myself I have had this experience because my video edits caught attention and after 3 years of building my brand there have been 4 occasions where guest requested 4 changes before the interview was released. On top of that they would refuse to return the favor for me . I remember 1 video took me a month to finish and keep my guest happy. I put about 50 hours in revisions. Evidently Hollywood elites are pulling the same crap . I haven’t done any interviews for 2 years now. I have been re-focusing on my brand.

Hi Jamal check this out what Oprah was doing with Monique was trying to get something for nothing. As a producer and show host myself I have had this experience because my video edits caught attention and after 3 years of building my brand there have been 4 occasions where guest requested 4 changes before the interview was released. On top of that they would refuse to return the favor for me . I remember 1 video took me a month to finish and keep my guest happy. I put about 50 hours in revisions. Evidently Hollywood elites are pulling the same crap . I haven’t done any interviews for 2 years now. I have been re-focusing on my brand.

The criticism "he's not a real journalist" seems ridiculous, more a way to avoid the content than a valid criticism. He's not doing 'Journalism', he's doing interviews and giving people a platform. If you can't deal with the content (the accusations) it is telling.
