This is why you don't leave until you have a chance to see your new haircut...and tell them to fix it if it looks bad. Take photos if awful for proof. Don't leave until handled. Don't be 'nice' and say nothing.
I had an experience at SportsClips, but I didn't say anything because she was an African American and with the amount who have the victim mentality against white people because of our stupid ass ancestors, I didn't want to hurt her feelings and make her nervous especially if she was new and learning. I'm insecure, I care what people think. I care little of myself and more about others. I myself am a minority and I know what it's like to be singled out and put down for being different than others Because I'm autistic and ADHD I have been bullied and criticized and often misunderstood and overall treated unfairly. I couldn't go through with hairdressing because my neurodivergent disability interfered way too much. One lady got offended when I was cutting her son's hair because I botched his haircut because he wouldn't stay still and she took something I said innocently out of autistic communication so personal that she got me fired. I didn't want to do the same to this lady nor did I want to ruin her day so I just didn't say anything and went to a different hairdresser to fix it. I hope she is still working and succeeding now. With practice makes perfect 🙂
It's often shock & seeing it in daylight outside of the salon that it starts to sink in.... Also, many never learned/taught how to tell someone you hate what they did & dread their reaction more than what happened. Or you're the bad person for complaining... You're lucky if you've never been scared about speaking up for yourself! We need to teach all --especially girls--that it's OK. (Sorry, yes, this is way deeper than haircuts, but it's part of the reason some cry in videos after the fact & don't complain in the salon!)
The girl who gave herself a reward for an exam is unbelievable. She needs to approach the salon owner, and if nothing is done: go to BBB and report them, along with a blast of the owner and the hair dresser on everything!!!

Clip one young lady. Outside a salon waiting to get her extensions out and redone. (Look for shorter hair from the nape between longer extension pieces.) Yep Im a hairdresser and yep some people love having fun chopping them off before they are swapped out. 😊
I cut my own hair. Salons always seem to wreck it in one way or another - all done with THAT!! I cut off the last 3-4 inches of color damaged hair the other day- waited more than 2 years for it to get long enough. Now I have a nice, soft U shape from my shoulders to to below my shoulders in the back - and NO more hair color!! ☺

Happened to me as well. I had the master stylist fix it. It was a bob cut supposed to be chin length but the girl cut too much out of the sides. Had to go shorter but the master stylist did a good job with the fix. I go to a different franchise of the same company and found another master stylist who cuts my hair regularly, even better than the original picture i had! :) Hope the girl finds a good stylist like I did!

As someone who has walked into one of those high-end NYC salons (my friend was the customer), I can already imagine the conversation. They charge a lot of money for "high art" that they'll claim is trendy but it's total garbage that I could have literally done myself. I thought my friend's hair was butchered but he was sold by the sales pitch.

It’s so hard to tell a stylist that you are unhappy with the service they gave you but you have to in order to get your money back. It took me into my late 20’s to be able to do this but I wish I learned the skill sooner. Get mad! Ok. Slightly upset is better than mad. Tell them how it makes you feel and how you’d be embarrassed to go in public. Fight with them if they don’t want to refund your money. How can a hair stylist know they are horrible if they are not told? It’s not up to everybody else. They are waiting for someone else to say something too

I guess I can call my roots a "Scandinavian hairline" in the 2-3 weeks before my next root coloring appointment. 🙃 Most of my hair has turned white, but I do still have some of my original medium brown mixed in, especially all around the edges and in the very back, so I have my hair colored a medium to dark blonde color in an attempt to be a bit less obvious as my roots grow out. I go gradually lighter to try to both blend into the roots as well as keep track of how much is left that hasn't yet changed.

Don’t get me wrong, split ends need to be dealt with, but there’s no need to go ahead and cut across in a straight line and remove inches of healthy hair cause a few strands in the middle aren’t.
I always had my long hair cut in a "U" shape in the back. About 2 years ago I had my daughter's bf choir it in a layered a-line and i LOVE it!!! ❤❤❤😊😊😊

I had one chick cut my hair really bad. Thing was I couldnt tell how bad it really was til the next day when I washed out whatever it was that she put in it, dried it and straightened it. She messed it up so bad. what made it worse was when I confronted her about it she told me I was styling my hair wrong I needed to finger coil curl it and needed to come back in so she could show me. I told her I didn't need to finger freak my hair to get it curl it just does it naturally and after having her cut it i wouldnt even curl on it own, my head a mess of frizz poof and uneven ness. Then it was followed by her threatening me a lawyer. Yeah it was a lot of fun. I cried for days.
I had my hair ruined by a salon. No way am I EVER letting them touch my hair again. I wore my hair up to hide the mess until I found someone who fixed it as much as was possible.

18 mounths ago a hairdresser fried my whole hair with bleach. I wanted a low copper balayage. No color at the other hair. I got a full bleached head with firefighter-red toner which washed out after the first washing at home. I fixed it myself with henna. My whole head is copper now. The color is pretty but its not what i wanted. I had to cut a lot of my hair and a lot of damage is still there, I have to color my roots many times, what I never wanted and I miss my natural haircolor. One dump mistake of a hairdresser made a big deal for me and my live.
The one gal crying and throwing a tantrum in her car about her hair and throwing out the F bomb with her kid in the car. Ugh!

There are SO many worse things that can happen in your life besides a bad haircut. Pull yourself together, stop whining, put your phone away and make them fix it. And count your blessings. Chemo made my hair fall out. Twice. Now I shave it occasionally just to remind myself that my hair doesn’t define me. Beautiful with or without it!
That last poor girl looked like literally every teenage boy I grew up with in the '90s. My assumption is she really enjoys soccer and pot. Oh and nu metal!

I often trim my own fringe to extent time between paying for a haircut but i dont do the rest, i have a straight fringe so its easy

Why are you touching up your roots instead of toning the entire thing darker and doing an even darker root shadow until you can get a nice blend?
@KK-vh7jt my roots-coloring-skills are not that good to create nice blending. So coloring with the same copper was easier. But I will try

I feel really bad for that young girl with the bad haircut that was crying. The only thing you can do for that is just deal with, it let it grow out. Or go to a different hairdresser, and let them fix it.

It’s on my TH-cam shorts I recently had a butchered hair cut got at the end of August I’m growing it back out I showed her my drivers license picture of what I wanted she was like ok then she went scissor happy I literally can’t even style it still it it’s so short I told her to cut it to my earring level this was a high end five star salon I went to I’m still in tears been crying did understand why she did this she did me dirty the back of my hair is so bad I can not style my hair I’m ready to buzz it all off she did not even blend it I been using biotin shampoo and vitamins to grow it out it just gets worse how can I trust any one again I’m still in tears
