    Now some days I found a journal from my grand grand father , he was Romanian but fought for Austro Hungaryan force , and he wrote about brusilov and so many other fights. He finished the war in the prison at the Russians

      @Roughman Dude, you don't know much about Russian history. The Bolshevik propaganda destroyed the troops morale after, not before February 1917. In February 1917, Russian troops on the frontline were quite firm. It was the rear units, the city garrisons, that had low morale and rose in a revolt. But the situation at the front was still managable. It was the revolution, with the "democratization of the army", that followed, that destroyed the Russian Army.

    • @jekabsojarsulskis9740
      @jekabsojarsulskis9740 5 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @Roughman as a latvian, whose Fatherland was the battlegrounds of ww1, the Eastern front, I know troops didn't leave their posts so willingly. They were holding half of Latvia with the Latvian Riflemen holding the germans back from advancing deep in the Empire. Germans were alright with holding their captured teritory that had rescources and no one was trying much to take it back after The Febuary revolution. A bit of a pickle in Russia during that time. So the germans didn't take the teritory so easily with the Russian army troops abandaning their posts.

    You should do an episode on the Italian-Austrian front during WWI. Imagine several million men occupying mountainous trenches; using avalanches and dragged artillery against one another.
    It was from this front that a soldier named Mussolini came.

    Austria-Hungary: 1,000,000-1.5,000,000 Casualties
    Germany: 350,000 Casualties.
    Let’s not forget the Ottomans got involved of this offensive:

      As someone who often visited the same Wikipedia page from time to time to learn about history, I can tell you that Wikipedia is not the most reliable source since today there might say that the Russians lost 1 Million men, after 3 months it said they post 500k and after 6 months they lost 750k. It might not have said that but this is just an example. I saw casualties and army strength numbers change from time to time on Wikipedia.

    World War I... The Great War... it is a pity that in my country that war is so much uknown, even though it is the war in which all of our occupants have been defeated and by which we took back our freedom after 123 years (Poland). Very little know about the battle of Tannenberg, the Brusilov Offensive, the February Revolution or anything about the Eastern Front of World War I, which was a very bloody scene of war. I cannot thank in the name of my nation, but I thank you all in the name of my friends who respect and seek knowledge about the past that you inform about such great situations in history of mankind.
