When it comes to scones with jam and clotted cream it's not even necessarily a North vs South debate, it's a debate between the Cornish and the Devonians as well 🤣
What people from Devon fail to understand is that there is a third ingredient in Cornwall, it goes butter, then jam, then cream. I wish the education system was better there so they could grasp our higher level of understanding 😤😢
Is this the only promotion video of him? I need more artists usually do a ton of these. These promotion videos are like candy to me but honestly I just love watching him his personality puts a smile on my face
I agree with him about pease pudding tasting of 'childhood'. It reminds me of my nana, my auntie and my mam who all made their own. But he's right, who the hell would eat it out of a can? And on a cracker? You eat pease pudding with ham. Maybe on a stottie cake. And if you don't make your own, take it out the can, heat it up in pan with some butter. Then you can eat it warm or let it cool down which I think is better.
@@mikethedigitaldoctorjarvis London pies are really dissatisfying and disappointing. Not trying to cause an argument or anything. I literally traveled to London from Yorkshire to have pie and mash at some of the most highly recommended shops but was disappointed every time. Just bad pies! My Grandma always used to tell me the story of my childhood and an Eccles cake. On holiday in Blackpool my Mum and Grandma saw a red duffle coat in a shop window for me so decided to get me try it on but first they took my Eccles Cake off me. Always reminded of it because I screamed the shop down. 😂😂😂

A Gregg's sausage roll from a bakery vs. a prepacked Gingsters is hardly a fair contest. Why not have a proper Cornish pasty from a bakery. Different story then.
Is there actually any debate who has the better foods? Geordie born and bred and studied in London, Northern food easily wins. They do have decent chicken shops down there though haha
Clotted cream before the jam makes more sense. Clotted cream is thicker so moves around less when spreading the jam on. Try and spread clotted cream on jam and it all just wipes off.
No one can convince me that scones aren’t the most controversial food. First is scon vs scone (The pronunciation). Second is the order of jam and cream. Reply if you know a more controversial food
Err, I think you'll find in Devon it's cream first and then everywhere else it's jam first. If you go to Cornwall and put cream on your scone first you're kicked out of the county into Devon where you belong!!
cream first then jam. the cream is like a butter all most and then the jam is like the whatever you put on top of the butter on toast like marmite or jam. jam first is criminal.
People are funny. If I came across a video made by a famous person I'd never heard of the first thing I'd do would be google his name or even put his name is the TH-cam search and find out. You could have done that by the time you'd left a comment saying 'who's this?'
But really, do most people down south eat 'Gentleman's Relish?' I doubt it. And I think they should have compared the Eccles cake with something like a Bath Bun.
Nah man you can find proper good ones down south. Brockley rock is very good. Nice fish and chips with curry sauce and a pickled egg and buttered roll to put my chips and curry sauce in. Now i feel hungry
Depends where you go. Chippies are always 50/50 for me no matter where I am in the UK. I'm from the south and there are awful chippies in my area, but there's amazing ones as well.
Not really a fair fight when you are picking a microwaved cornish pasty off a supermarket shelf, jellied eels and gentlemans relish that literally no one eats 🤷♂
Good to see a north east lad on here he might be from South Shields like but ne one's perfect 🤣 .. I'm from Newcastle and I always do cream then jam haha. Didn't even realise this was a debate haha
It’s more so a cornwall devon debate imo
I don't get why people get worked up about that one because it would surely taste the same regardless of which order you put the jam & cream on.
So my grandad was from Cornwall and moved to Newcastle so seeing that cream go on first rattled my core.
Love how he says about Jellied Eels being from Oliver, then happily eats Pease Pudding, a grim food actually mentioned in Oliver
Peas Pudding is amazing, Its basically English Hummus. Ham and Peas Pudding on a fresh stottie, god tier food.
Grim food? Shut up you melt. Ham and pease pudding stottie is god tier food
@@edix1673god ham and pease pudding. Love it.
Pease pudding is mentioned as one of the foods they dream about ffs 😂😂😂
In fairness a cornish pasty is better than a sausage roll, but a greggs sausage roll is leagues above them ginsters supermarket pasties

It feels as though LB should branch out the menu, it's always the same few things that literally everybody eats.
Melton Mowbray being in Leicestershire is therefore in the Midlands.
3:23 he made too much sense
Should’ve been doing greggs sausage roll against a philps Cornish pasty. Pasty wins 100% of the time
Yeah, bakery sausage roll vs a microwaved ready meal pasty isn't a decent comparison.
Am from the south but only ever had a scone and a sausage roll
