Once again just brilliant 😂 cracking fish bud I’ve been shore fishing for years and I decided to take the game to the next level got myself 17ft 520 a few months ago to start my journey of trying to get tight lines on fish in open water and coastal routes around Northern Ireland your content is giving me great knowledge for rigging setup and boat positions on and off wrecks, so thank you Ben for taking the time and effort into each video 👍
@@Justjiggin_NI Aahhh you’re most welcome mate honestly and thanks for binge watching the content it’s always nice when the older stuff gets watched as well as the new! How are you finding the new boat?
@ Orkney 520 does the job for me plenty of room just need to get used to the swells lol 😂 it’s all new to me but I’m handling boat ok in and out of marina, and in open water Im been staying around coastal routes to get a feel for everything and how to read the sea every day is a school day can’t wait to hit some wrecks around my area , really enjoying your channel looking for for future updates bud
@ We will shortly be bombing off shore predominantly on some big Bass and Pollack, there’s some good vids of us doing that last year you might like but I can’t wait. If you ever have any questions on anything just ask. We are on Facebook and Instagram etc too 👌🏻
@ happy days looking forward 🎣 yes will do , think ill have to invest in a Penn fathom low profile, I was going to pair with penn retaliate x jigging 200 g think at would more and do with 140g slow jig from sidewinder for both jiggin and soft lures, you are running 30ld braid for wrecking
@Justjiggin_NI yes mate 30lb braid when doing the standard method of a boom and length of fleurocarbon but on the slow jig set up it’s 22lb now and thinner diameter just to get down that bit better
Hi Ben, congratulations on the Sidewinder appointment, well deserved. Loving your video as always. Do you mind me making an observation about the filming? For me, I would love to see a more zoomed out view of you fishing which would show all of the rod. This would show its action and best of all (for me) allow me to try and identify a take before you can say ‘fish on’! If you look at the video at 11m 40s you will see what I mean, on that hook-up, we can see the whole rod. Just a thought mate. Keep up the good work!
Hey Tony how are you? Yes I 100% agree with you mate and it’s a great point and one I have identified myself, getting camera angles right is a right pain but I shall endeavour to correct that buddy and get that full rod in the shot 🙌🏻
Thanks for watching! Everyone starts somewhere the best bet is to absorb as much as you can from as many videos as you can and take away the good bits from each and go practice that’s the only way to get it cracked to be honest!
@@theamputeeangler cheers mate that’s what I’ve been doing. Used it for the first time last trip out did get a pollock but it didn’t feel I was doing it right. I was jigging up way too far. But got a better idea of it now. Thanks
@boatfishingscottyano Some jigs require a big long tall lift as it were but others much shorter, I’m not expert on it and there are some top guys out there who JUST do this style of fishing but I have cracked the method as it were if you ever have any questions honestly just ping a message etc il help if I can 🙏🏻
Hey buddy! The rod is a custom built one rated to about 180 grams though if that helps The reel is a Penn fathom low profile 300 loaded with 30lb braid and then a decent length of fleuro leader ending in a jig of choice 🙏🏻
Nice video , I was out last week from little Hampton , barely a sniff from the wrecks even in 200ft of water was a hard day , you guys did very well as usual 😎 I’m curious how far off shore you guys getting to find fish
Hey buddy how are you. Well with out saying to much mate as I know there are people who will fine tooth comb my video and comments 👀 this was outback into mod channel and beyond but the inshore wrecks are fishing well in places and will continue to get better in the next week or so but there’s so may factors such as tides, water clarity, pressure, temperature etc but that may rot is clearing right out now so clarity is pretty much not an issue past 1 mile
Nice one Ben. How far are you going out? Last week I twice tried around 6-8 wrecks going out to the shipping lanes off Beachy Head to no avail, all I got was Pout. I guess you're going out to the French side. Regards Trevor
Hey mate how are you? This trip varied to be honest but it was an inshore wreck that had the Pollack and there’s wrecks 4-8 mile off Newhaven I know are fishing well at the minute but there’s so many factors to it all. Some of those wrecks only fish well on a flood tide for some reason and others Ebb etc so it can be a bit of a game working them out
@@theamputeeangler Cheers for the info Ben. By the way, I also saw massive shoals of baitfish on the sounder all off beachy head but I couldn't figure out what they were. They certainly weren't taking sabiki's or Mackerel feathers. I'm off to Guernsey for 11 days on Wednesday so I will give the wrecks off Newhaven a go when I get back. I'll let you know how I get on. Regards Trevor
@trevorgodfrey4431 Have a great time Trevor, lots of Turbot coming out that way so I see lately. Those baitifish shoals are Sprats I believe I have seen a few fish coughing them up!
Great one Ben, some lovely fish for you and your mates. Great advice on how to fish wrecks.
cheers for taking the time to watch and comment mate i appreciate it!

Top work Ben, good to see the lads together having a cracking day afloat and great advice when approaching a wreck being fished.
Thank you for watching! Yeah I was hoping that didn’t come across to moany but it is very frustrating
Once again great video mate, shame that fog came in,but no regrets about the move off the wreck to find pollock ,cant wait for the next trip😅
It’s all about the fun mate you know that. The fishing is second
Bloody brilliant mate, great video.
Thank you boss 🙏🏻 I try my best 👌🏻
I've had some nice bass from Eastbourne Harbour
Yeah it’s a very good location for them we have had some crackers each month this year so far 🙏🏻
