He would've been jailed and the rest of my families military and government careers would've been ruined. Even if it was 40 years ago and I had nothing to do with it. When I saw the SCI folders in the photo, just sitting on the floor... man, that was a gut punch. It brought out a visceral reaction. I think you are right. There is reporting that when he traveled overseas as president he took classified documents with him, presumably to do transactions with those he was going to encounter. Do you remember when Putin went skipping across the stage in Helsinki, he was so happy? he had just finished a three hour meeting with Trump. I wonder what secrets Trump sold him? god I can't imagine the amount of work needed to be confident enough to find out where, who, and when these documents were touched by, pictured by, and talked about with anyone. since its been outside of a SCIF ( Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) there's no telling what was done with them after being taken

I want to know who his conspirators were in terms of getting those documents out of the White House SCIF? There is usually one agent with top security clearance who must be in the SCIF whenever someone goes to look at documents. This person is also there to prevent someone from photographing or removing documents.
Trump was president and it was his prerogative to take the docs to FL. What needed to happen was at 1201pm on 20 January 2021, all of the docs should have been rounded up from Mar a Lago and moved under guard back to the West Wing.
@@anthonyc8499 there had been a scif at Maralogo. It was dismantled. There wasn't a secure place to store classified or sensitive information. There is no evidence that the documents were officially declassified. There's a procedure to follow and records are kept.

I gotta wonder if some of these docs were related to Israeli defense and nuclear capabilities. How valuable would that be to Saudi Arabia or Iranian allies such as Russia?

Normally top secret documents are transported by an official carrier in a locked briefcase handcuffed to their arm. But it's could be different because they flew Trump back and forth to Maralogo on airforce 1. There is probably a scif on airforce 1.

Leverage and money. He's constantly broke and filed bankruptcy multiple times--those documents are the biggest moneymaker he's ever had in his possession. Russia, China, Saudi Arabia etc would pay millions for that information. It's the easiest way for him to pay off his massive debts around the world without having to do any real work.

What confuses me about this entire incident is how the chain of custody from the National Archives to Mar-a-lago occurred. What other parties were involved?
One would assume that somewhere there are many people who “didn’t sign”(literally or figuratively) for the “return” of documents to storage, or knowingly allowed them to leave positive custody. There may not be literal signing in and out of documents, but certainly there is some form of a logged chain of custody for this stuff, which means someone allowed that chain to be broken and didn’t do anything about it
They documents never made it to the National Archives, that's how we found out about the loss.

Are you serious? They have been going after Trump's team with the Russia Collusion Hoax started by the dossier paid for by Hillary Clinton which came out as debunked in 2019. They tried to get Paul Manafort despite he was working for Ukraine years beforehand and with Michael Flynn who met with Russians but it wasn't collusion, it was about gaining a first hand source on Russia's foreign policy on things like ISIS and the Iran deal.

One person (in this case the POTUS) should not be the sole individual responsible for declassifying documents. The more we learn about this mess, the more the Congress needs to be formulating legislation to mitigate the possibility of it happening again.
Like with alot of other things with the Government and especially POTUS, we established the system on a assumption that the POTUS was not going to be a morally bankrupt and utterly corrupt individual who would treat the office and thus the country as a personal possession. If Congress does one thing right after this 6 year fiasco it will be to pass a bunch of Trump Laws to more tightly constrain the President's power and ability, and to at the minimum greatly limit his classification/declassification authority
The U.S. President is NOT the sole individual responsible for declassifying documents. Yes, a President has the authority to issue an Executive Order to declassify certain information, but even he doesn't have the power to
issue those UNTIL the document(s) have passed through many hands in a restricted chain that includes the pertinent
original government department (owner) that classified the document. In the case of any nuclear-related material,
not even the President can declassify those particular documents because that is up to the Department of Energy
to assess whether or not those documents should be released-which they rarely are, if ever. Having worked for the
National Archives, it is inconceivable to me that ANYONE, especially a U.S. President, would have taken nuclear-related material to his private home. I just think that it is, at the very least, the height of wrecklessness, and that person
should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, no matter WHO he may be.
I've really grown so much respect & admiration for the intelligence community over the years, these agents are like always on the level 🌟

What concerns me, among other things, is that Trump holds these pay-to-events where people come to have his ear and ask for things. What on earth could Trump be doing with those documents right next to where he held those events? Was he selling them to the highest bidder?
With Trump, you have to consider every possibility, and with his track record and financial history, i believe it was entirely possible he was selling national secrets at a whim.
It was Trump. Of course he was. Why else would he have brought them to mar-a-Lago? They were his retirement plan.

There was also a Russian woman that recently got access to Trump and Mar-a-Lago, they even took pictures to memorialize it, she claimed she was some heiress, And turns out she was a Russian spy. that was very recent too by the way.
