  • Omiwa Shrine is one of the oldest shrines in Japan, located in Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture.
    It retains the old Shinto style of worshiping Mt. Miwa as a deity.
    The main deity is Omononushi, who is worshiped as the god of fertility, medicine, and sake brewing.
    It is the number one shrine in Yamato Province and one of the 22 shrines, and its former status was Kanpei Taisha.
