7 years ago Disney crowed about all the benefits of staying at a Disney property. Just 5 years later, Chapek started dismantling them one by one until nothing was left.
I was working at the pool bar at the Grand Floridian when they filmed this. I walked around the corner and saw all the cameras were aimed at the guy and the film crew was yelling at me to get out of the shot.
Have done several trips on Disney vacation packages over the years pre-COVID. While it was a bit on the expensive side for us, we always felt we got good value for our money, and always enjoyed ourselves immensely. With the changes now at Disney🤑🤑🤑, we can’t see ever being able to afford a trip again, or it being an enjoyable experience 🙁😦😢

They should change the words to "We're going to nickel and dime you each and everyday, my oh my, you're going to regret this stay, want to skip lines, well, you're going to pay, forget all that free stuff, Chapek is here to stay.
It is extremely sad to watch this because it clearly isn’t like this anymore. What should happen is that Iger should demand that every Parks and Resorts Designer, Manager, Operations person watch this over and over again and come up with a way to get this Resort back, as much as possible, to the promise this ad campaign promised! Then they should rehire this guy and his team back to make more commercials because they have the energy and way to deliver that no ad since has had!

If you seriously think that’s better than EMH you’re delusional or uninformed. For so many reasons. Disney often opens a half hour earlier than scheduled anyways. Extra Magic Hours may not have been daily at every park, but it was a lot more substantive than giving you a lame thirty minutes. I remember staying at Magic Kingdom until 3:00 AM some nights. The parks are way better at night anyways and opening thirty mins early only benefits people who like to rope drop.

Faguy Bob Chapek is long gone but Disney has not gotten back to its roots one bit. This commercial was the catalyst for taking my entire extended family to WDW in 2018. Sadly, by our two return trips in 2023, it was all gone.
This makes me so sad. Disney used to be magical. It was so easy to sell Disney resorts vs. offsite because of all the perks. Now all the perks are gone :( Help us, Bob Iger, please bring back the magic!

It looks so magical to the children who's parents can afford to take them..but there are so many children who will never get to go, because it's too expensive. I believe if Walt himself, was still alive, he would be making it affordable for everyone
Yeah, 10 years ago but definitely not now. Now, they can might as well make a commercial saying “We don’t even mind telling you the price because you’re just gonna fork over your money anyway! We’re Disney, we’re else are you gonna go? Haha!” And people would still show up. They don’t care anymore.

Bob Iger has been back in full charge of Disney for almost two years. How many supposedly- all-Chapek-related takeaways has he reversed? Only one...the daily cost to park a vehicle at the Disney resort you are already paying a phenomenal cost to stay in.
When Disney was magical. Why did they destroy everything in this ad? Even the vibe is gone, it’s just a gross money grab now for nothing in return. Parks are trashed, some cast members are mean spirited, rides are being ruined, hotels are way over priced, and the food has become less than mediocre.
So lets see 0:06 to: 0:47. That's one night at the Grand Floridian Resort. Fireworks with Mickey means Magic Kingdom tickets. That is dinner at The Boathouse restaurant, then a water taxi tour from The Boathouse pier. This single day of Disney sets you back over $1000.

Extra Magic Hours now ONLY exist for the top-priced resort hotels, and only for two nights a week, Monday at EPCOT, Wednesday at Magic Kingdom.
