It is amazing how disciplined the Japanese audience is and how much they respect OOR. Despite 30 seconds of silence you don't hear anyone shouting, whistling etc. This was a beautiful emotional performance by Taka. He was sick during this concert and even apologized to his fans on Instagram because he was not satisfied with his performance. I think, he did a great job. It won't probably the last OOR request from me. They have so many good songs.
Japanese audiences do tend to be more calm yes but I think a lot of it has to do with Takas ability to command his audience I saw him in Toronto and during his performance of Always coming back to you we were silent most of the song as well but the majority of the crowd was Asian so 🤷🏼♀️ lol
Wish I could've experienced the same wonderful silence! Taka sang this same version in the Philippines back in 2018, and a lot of the people were very disrespectful and kept yelling. It was very embarrassing to be amongst that kind of crowd. OOR still delivered an amazing performance though :))
On top of being sick. It's been known that the moment of silence was as a tribute to chester Bennington. The emotion and pain in his voice were for the loss of his friend, who they were planning on touring together.
I love this performance. This song actually featured one of my favorite bands called 5 seconds of summer. This live performance stole my heart as soon as I heard it. So amazing and powerful. Taka has the most incredible and emotive voice.
Taka moriuchi is the lead singer! Practically his entire family are/ were musicians. His younger brother has a band called My First Story. Taka is considered one of the best singers of today. FYI OOR will be doing a livestream on June 3 of one of their huge Japan dome shows. They are on tour now. 😀😀😀
Amazing reaction. OOR is my favorite band and Taka is... just an angel. I love them so much. Every song is a banger. You should definetely comtinue to react to them. For the next one I suggest Mighty long fall live from Yokohama stadium. Welcome to the OOR journey and enjoy this masterpiece of a band :)
In many "first time reaction video", they mention about Taka's voice and his performance remind them Chester. Taka and ONE OK ROCK did respect him and LP🥺
Phenomenal performance thoroughly enjoyed this ...those vocals are something else ..yiur reactions make me so happy thanku so much love an God bless always from Cyprus x x x
They are great live. I have seen them last April and completely blown me away. Please react to I was King Orchestra version. Also, The Beginning Eye of the Storm tour.
ONE OK ROCK is absolutely one of the best bands in the world. Their music is so expressive and Taka's vocals are AMAZING. Take What You Want is so emotional. I'm STILL touched after a few listens that the Japanese audience completely respected that long moment of silence. And when you see how MANY people were there (THOUSANDS in a giant stadium) and realize you could hear a pin drop because NO ONE made a single sound, it's even more amazing.
I really love one ok rock 💜 the performances you would enjoy: 1) deeper deeper at yokohama stadium, 2) mightily long fall at yokohama stadium, 3) beginning live (these are more on the harder side of their discography); 4) whenever you are (this one in more mellow and soft).
So glad you discovered how amazing One OK Rock is. Hope to find more reactions to their music. Taka's voice is unbelievable. He can sing more than just rock and does a beautiful job.
Not only is Taka a fantastic singer, he is a great songwriter as well. He writes majority of, if not all, the band’s songs. I saw them in Minneapolis last year and the band was amazing live. Taka’s voice is much too powerful for such a small venue. He needs to headline one of the large outdoor music festivals in America.
Great reaction 👍 thank you for your reaction to Amazing One Ok Rock. No word left to describe Taka (vocalist) He's such a precious Gem 🔥 would love to see you react to One Ok Rock " clock strike 35xxxv Japan Tour 2015, cry out, mighty long fall, wasted night live, i was king, stand out if in and fight the night orchestra version. That would be Lit 🔥 looking forward to your great reaction. Only the best 🙌
Another song where Taka (One Ok Rock's vocalist) made me cry is from a collaboration between the band Pay Money to My Pain and Taka, the song "Voice". It's a tribute to the band's deceased member and Taka's personal friend. It's long, and the pain is so palpable; not only from Taka's singing voice but even the instruments. There's no music video for it, but there is a fan made video that includes pictures of memories of the 2 bands th-cam.com/video/8wTm9ouWrTo/w-d-xo.html
The original version of this song was written by OOR and 5 seconds of summer. The recording version is definitely more upbeat. Taka's parents did go through a divorce. They are very public people in the music industry in Japan. This concert was in 2018 shortly after the untimely death of Chester Bennington, who was good friends with taka and OOR. They were planning on touring together. Its been said that the long silence was in honor of Chester. At the end, he thanks the audience for the given respect allowed. They have been together since 2005 so like 18 years. The two members that were friends before the creation of the band were Toru guitar and Ryota base. They were originally a 5 member band but they quickly realized realized who will stay. The rasp in Taka's voice that's not usually there was due to him not feeling well that day, yet it made the song so much more emotional. Frankly, kudos to him for performing the full 2h+ show while feeling unwell, without making it feel like it was in any way inferior to their other live performances when everyone was in tiptop condition. They were supposed to tour with Linkin Park, but Chester's sudden death prevented that from happening. I heard that this concert is a memorial concert for Chester and the long silence in the song is a prayer for Chester.
Thank you for reacting to this song! The translation of the first part is ''The calm of the storm after it has passed'' ''I stand there and you are no longer next to me'' Something like that.
The minute long silence at the beginning was for Chester Bennington, he and Taka were close and LP and OOR were meant to tour in Japan together before Chester's unfortunate death (R.I.P Chester) 😭

I was hoping someone commented this. It really puts even more weight on the silence, goose bumps everytime
No way😢 omg it brings so much more to the silence 🥺😭 thank u 🙏
Taka is the name to remember. The rest of the band is Toru on guitar, Ryota on bass, and Tomoya on drums. They're all incredibly talented individuals.

They actually toured with twenty one pilots during the early days of the Blurryface era.
Ооооо, Фил!!! Какое счастье, вы делаете реакции на мою любимую группу!!! Я думаю, что всем, кому нравится Димаш, тоже нравится музыка этой группы!!!!
Thank you for reacting to this song! The translation of the first part is
''The calm of the storm after it has passed''
''I stand there and you are no longer next to me''
Something like that.
Taka is an emotional singer. ❤
Fantásticos! Pocas bandas con este directo. Un saludo.
Lol your reaction is priceless. I hope you are fine after watching this.
Taka is the best! Bucket list is to see them live in Japan!
The minute long silence at the beginning was for Chester Bennington, he and Taka were close and LP and OOR were meant to tour in Japan together before Chester's unfortunate death (R.I.P Chester) 😭

😁👏🙌🎶
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🎶😭🤘✨
From what I heard the moment of silent was for Chester Bennington. I just happen to come across this information from another TH-cam video comments.
In fact, at the concert in this video, he had a cold and his throat didn't seem to be in the best condition.
Were you able to feel the silent breath of 30,000 people?
