I don’t have fb, would love to see the pics people posted on something like ig. But this video is exactly what I wanted and needed to see. Thank you 🙏🏾
As someone from a synthesizer/sampler background, these photos are hilarious... you should see the cable mayhem I was able to manage on my desk of 20+ synths and samplers. cable trays and zip ties are your biggest friends when doing cable management.
One thing I found very helpful was automotive plastic conduit for wiring harness which you can pick up at any auto parts store. You can get them an inch and a half wide or 2 inches wide, and they help to keep your cables all together so it doesn’t look like Skylab on the stage.. another thing you can do, get yourself every color of electrical tape you can possibly find. Colorcode all your cables. Never have a cable that doesn’t have color codes on it. It’s very quick to identify your connections then. Keep one set of cables for what you use at church on stage, and another set of cables that she use for anywhere else. Yes Expensive but it’s worth the time savings they will come from it. So you always have the cables you use at church already set up and bundled together, and then it’s just a quick plug-in.
One tip that I see in your video, but usually doesn't get mentioned explicitly... put the audio interface on the floor. You can see this in the example pics in the video too. This gives you usually one (USB) cable to run from your laptop to the interface and thus one wire to tie to the stand. Then the other additional audio cables are more easily hidden on the floor or gaff taped down. Any volume adjustments should be done from your keyboard with a fader, so there shouldn't be any reason to touch your interface while you're playing once it's set up.
Found this really helpful. I've got an old M-Audio Prokeys 88, hooked up to MainStage. I honestly don't do much with it right now, but want to compose more and create fun kids music to complement what I do. Loved your studio, it's lighting and your video editing. Keep up the great work 👍
Nice video! I’ll add that I bought an inexpensive “percussion tray” that mounts easily to my laptop stand. It holds my interface and powered USB hub so it’s not sitting on the ground. Makes for a clean look.
A lot of this applies for guitarists like me, too, esp. since I'm starting to integrate some synth hardware/software into my guitar rig. Fortunately for us, most of our cables are all down on the floor, and we just need to make sure things are long enough to reach back to an amp and/or a snake interface to avoid being a tripping hazard. :D I am going to need to put together a small stand for a keyboard, a laptop, and a small mixer, so this is giving me plenty of food for thought.
The great thing about the new Sunday Keys app is that the new iPad Air, and Pro have magnets in the back so they kind of stick to stuff like steel music stands.
I want to buy a rack case to store my kit in tidily, interface, cables etc. What’s a good thing to have it sitting on? Mini keyboard stand? I can see with your set up you just have your interface lying in the floor and taped up?
Hi can you ID the model of rack case used in your first example. I believe this setup would work best for me but im trying to gather the necessary equipment to make this work
Hi, great video! I'd love to know the model of the laptop stand shown in the example rig around 1:05, with the shelf underneath. Do you have that info by any chance?
I play at a couple different locations any given week and I'm struggling to find a good portable setup that doesn't require me to tear down and set up absolutely everything every time. I always use the keyboard on location, but I bring my laptop running mainstage, a stand that screws onto a mic stand, all the cables and a USB extender, the nanokontrol, and a Scarlett audio interface (currently the solo but I'm looking to upgrade to the 4i4). Any suggestions or things to buy? I'm thinking about a portable rack of some kind 🤷♂️
I think a great way to build a nice looking and church-like keys rig is to gut an old small "Spinet" upright piano, and put your keys rig inside it, all the cables and mess is out of sight.
Another cable concealing method is cable raceway. 3M backing, has a lid, and you can get them in black. Perfect for use on square tubing style stands.
I use the Korg Triton at church, no complicated setups
Nice ideas -for keyboard rigs - and that is not only a purpose for worship.

Yes! Cable matters is life!

I like how the screen shakes when he says "chaos," but the screen is shakier when he says "total chaos"

Hello, I would love to watch a review or demo of “SundayKeys Standard version” using mainstage 3.
Hi, check out demos of Sunday Keys here: sundaysounds.com/sunday-keys

Nice job sir love you

Not 100% sure, but it looks like a 4U or maybe 2U Rack Case
A real Hammond organ and digital piano. Done.

You could look at a Shallow 3U Rack Case, you might be able to store most things pre-connected in it.
@@SundaySounds Thank you!!!
@@SundaySounds Do you have a recommended way I could set that up, meaning a portable stand or something to put it on other than a music stand (haha)?
Awesome
The in Tape in our Church is named: Arne P. Tape...
David, what do you recommend for keyboard outputs? Long TRS to the stage rack? Short 1/4" tp XLR pigtails? Stereo DI? Thanks!
Stereo DI box or just 2 DI boxes for long runs are a good way to go!
Vc poderia colar legendas em português (br) eu sou do Brasil e curto muito seus videos são muito interessantes e detalhados
What if you have a 2 port MacBook ?? What’s the cable situation there ?
We would recommend using a USB C hub like this: amzn.to/3O9aee0 (this is an affiliate link)

08:50 ALSO, if you are in a hurry setting up your keys, you can just toss your KORG NANO and hope it sticks a good landing where you need it. LOL!
What keyboard are you showing at 08:46 that has faders, knobs, and buttons all mapped like on the Nanokontrol built in?
Looks like the Novation Launchkey 61 MK3
That is the Novation Launch Key 61 combined with our custom Any Controller & Tonic+Auxiliary Decal available here: sundaysounds.com/patches/sk-skin
Hi sir I'll message you on your fb account thank you 😊
