I don't eat meat, so substitute the sorano ham for anchovies. This works great, I also serve with roast butternut squash, and top with barrel aged feta. Even my meat eating friends love this dish.

I tried making this. I had a leek leftover so I put that in too. But he didn't seem to cook off the wine, so neither did I, but it tasted wrong.

I'm Spanish and I cook lentils very often. But in a different way and, of course, with chorizo IN A POT, NEVER IN A PAN!! 😂
    Good try, anyway. 👍

If Stein's curries are as un-authentic as this lentil recipe, we know what we're getting. Know all chef: epic fail.

Made this last night night with my girlfriend. It was our first time using pimenton so we we'rent sure what to expect - it added a nice smoky flavour, but not something I would crave. It certainly was a nice hearty dish to be eaten on a crisp fall evening but the final product was not worth all the prep work. We had a good time cooking which is I guess what counts, but I would not serve at a dinner party. Watching this series, you can see that Spanish cooking is not as romantic as Italian.

Jack M try to serve lentils in a table with a couple of candles. That will make the difference.

En España nadie come lentejas como comida romántica.
Es más sería algo tan friki que destrozaria la relación.
Ella no te llamaría mas(Si fuera española claro)
      😐😑🙃

I would see this as a side dish or something to be eaten with good bread. These kind of stews are more home comfort food than centrepiece dishes. To make it more interesting you could add different kinds of veg or beans. Sundried tomatoes would probably work well. Courgettes. Might also be very good with potato like hash browns or wedges.
