For a Swede (that is still singing along to this, everytime he hears it) any version that does not alternate between "papa" and "mama" at the end are just wrong :P
Moomin had been the best childhood friend. When I hear this track in different languages, I feel connected with people of other countries. Despite we spoke different languages, despite we lived miles apart, we were all connected by this show. All of our childhood was made beautiful by this show. My salute to you all if your childhood was also decorated by moomin.
Actually the song is written by Pierre Kartner (also known as Vader Abraham) from the Netherlands. So actually the Dutch version is the original. But of course the Moomins are Finnish (or rather Finno-Swedish) I am well aware of that :)
@@samppa_j just say outro. Its not like only English and Finnish has same outro while all others doesnt. German is the full outro while the full finnish outro exists seoarately as audio
Brah we're always different! The polka track just didn't cut it in Hawaiʻi. The original is perfect for Europeans. Check out the full Hawaiian version, its a total different vibe even the outro for the credits. They used to play this on the radio in the 90's. The show became popular just because it aired right before Pokemon! I am now 31. Lol! the things i waste my time commenting on sometimes. haha
Finnish is the best one, next one is english and third swedish. Why, because they feel right (especially finnish one, because Im from Finland and the Moomins are from Finland, so that makes me a Moomin) Muumit on parhaita :D Kauniita muistoja, ja myös paljon helvetin pelottavia muistoja

I mean a section is about 20 minutes long. Then think of making the voices in different languages into 1 episode! It must take 2 weeks at least! Good work ❤️

For example, would you change "Let It Go" from Disney's "Frozen" to a completely different song? The Intro of the original song is "To the World of Dreams" and the ending is "Distant Longing"(th-cam.com/video/4MgFMNvdcBc/w-d-xo.html). Both were composed by Sumio Shiratori. I think each country's version should not change the original song.

People who keep saying "where's america's flag", the answer is the U.K. Flag stands for the English language which where it originated
Mathboy2003 the only state to air the 90's moomins was Hawaii (which is represented in the video)
The Moomins never having been adapted for USA (besides Hawaiian) is the real reason.
Robert Johnson Really? Not once?
nope, which makes the Hawaii one a real oddity, it also uses a diffrent melody when compared to the other versions of the song too.
Hawaiian is not the only one. Some countries has "invented the wheel again" by rearranging the music

+peronkop ya know the one singing the swedish one is finland- swedish as well as the one who wrote the story so yeah. the swedish version is the best
The singer sang both the Finnish and Swedish intros
The Norwegian version also has that part, so I totally agree! :)
