    I say looks like Yoda! Though I hear Yoda was modeled after them. That should be public knowledge as it would bring the Tarsier’s plight to the forefront and hopefully lead to donations! Great video! Very interesting and they are oh so darn cute!

      Yes! You are correct! I believe many do know about that, but not everyone who loves Star Wars! I was thinking of incorporating that fact into this video but it didn't come up. Through my research on the tarsier I've also learned that there is an alcohol company called "Tarsier Spirits" an animation company called "Tarsier Studios" and a recording label called "Tarsier Records". It's so cool that so many are inspired by this creature! Thank you Joan!

    You sure know how to find unique subjects. Having a chance to observe such a precious and increasingly rare animal was quite the memorable adventure. It amazes me that such sensitive animals can have survived so long. Suicide is their solution to stress? Their continued existence is astounding.

      Thank you we tried our best to find the coolest things to do! But to be fair, this sanctuary is on the top of everyone's travel list for the Philippines, because they are so unique to the area so it wasn't that hard to discover. Yes they have been around even longer than humans and monkeys and are still around today! It is a wonder that their sensitivities haven't extinguished them. Thank you so much!

    Great video! Nice to hear more about how the sanctuary works. How I wished we had interviewed the staff too, but two other groups had arrived after us and they were being interviewed already.

      Yes we heard the place was more crowded in the morning so we went in the late afternoon. We were one of the few people there so she had time to talk to us. It was great because that's where I really learned the most about the tarsier. I gotta check out your Bohol video too! I'm about to post my second one this week. It's so interesting seeing other people's experiences of the same place. Every perspective is unique! Thanks so much for commenting!

    Fantastic movie of the tarsiers! They look like bats to me! My favorite part was the interview with the sanctuary worker, you two have great chemistry together!

    Great video : ) Quick question - which lens did you use to get the close-up shots of the tarsiers? Would a 70-200mm be enough or do you need a lot more zoom? Tom

    • @DeannaTroyTravels
      @DeannaTroyTravels  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Tom great question! Thank you! This video was filled with a Canon EOS 70D with the lens the camera came with so I don’t think you need a crazy zoom just more than a cell phone camera. They aren’t too far hidden in the woods. Hope this helps thanks!
