'Everyone is angry that galaxy 2 wasn't included.' Actually everyone: I'm quite worried that this temporary release thing will catch on and become an industry standard.
This is not the first time a company sold their games for limited times during an event, especially not when it's an "exclusive" bundle. Yes the timed exclusivity is a bit scummy, but it's clearly meant to be a limited-time exclusive item for fans. The reason this won't become industry standard is because, with new releases for example, they will miss out on any possible revenue after the limited time is over. Looking at Nintendo, who almost never cut down the prices of their games, it'd just be a loss for them overall.

@@thelegendofthem6120 They made it limited run. Emulated poorly (emulation is not the devil, but bad emulation is). Some of the colors washed out in Mario Sunshine, and to be frank overpriced. As someone who never played Sunshine or Galaxy back in the day, this was a day 1, 100%-worth-it, buy for me. I've been enjoying it nonstop since release day

@@teamcharmander1017 Something being "worth it" is a purely subjective concept. Plenty of people spend money on things I don't find "worth it", but it doesn't mean they're wrong in doing so. If you find 3D All Stars not worth it, I hope you spent that $60 on a game/games you actually will enjoy :)

This was the first Switch game i bought after buying my Switch 6ish months ago. Found the game on Ebay for $25. Mario 64 and Sunshine were my life when i was little and i never played Galaxy.
See, this makes me incredibly happy. I have such nostalgic feelings for playing mario 64 and Mario sushine before school back in the early 2000’s and i never got to own galaxy- so having all 3 in 1 is way better than then trying to sell them individually full price.
You’ve explained perfectly how I feel about them, I’m just happy to play these games again, especially without the hassle of plugging up the older systems. It’s a little weird that they couldn’t have made super Mario 64 fit the screen but I’m not even too bothered by that.

Modern Vintage Gamer has a video or two on the emulation used in all stars and how it's basically a cheap cash grab and probably a test run for GameCube emulation on nintendo online. If these had work put into them they would be native ports and not emulated.
As someone who started on the DS as well, Mario 64 can start to feel more like a game where your battling the controls and camera more than getting to enjoy the game.
My first was a DS when I was 4 then I got a DSI from my parents cause my mom broke my DS by accident, a year later I got a Wii U and was able to play galaxy and whole bunch of other games, the next Christmas I got a 3ds and I used that for years, when I was 9 I got ocarina of time and was introduced to Zelda and I was introduced to Metroid the same year, in 2018 I mowed lawns and bought myself a switch. I love all of those series and I love most of the systems. I’m hoping we get Zelda remakes next year. I played 64 in my DS but I never got to play sunshine
@@codyploog5174 Controls are pretty smooth. Not perfect but pretty solid. The camera wasn't the worst I've experienced, but if the reworked it it would've made the controls even better. The camera definitely needed work for sure though.
Honestly, I think most of the hate came from haters posing as fans. Fans have real constructive criticism but still enjoyed the collection cause we know these are fantastic games. Haters were the ones crying & raging over it.

I wasn’t born when 64 or sunshine came out, however I did play those games. (Granted it was a super long time ago I barely remember playing 64 and I played sunshine when my brother got it a few years ago.)
I appreciated this video. I love the collection for what it is. If I wanna play a Mario game with the most high-end graphics, I'll start up Mario Odyssey again. These games don't need a HD remaster. They are timeless classics, and you showed us in this video that you're fine with that and still love the game!
I totally agree, I mean it would have been nice if Nintendo remastered them and I can see being disappointed if you had convinced yourself they would be remasters but I find it ridiculous to say that these three games aren't worth $60, just because the games aren't brand new, it doesn't mean that they aren't games that are worth money

Technically speaking, sunshine is the most lore friendly game, this is a plumber we are talking about. Fixing issues with water, leaks, and such should be right up his alley.
The controls on the Switch Lite are terrible. And of course no re- mapping controls. Trying to use the FLUDD with the same stick that moves Mario was super frustrating. I might go back and try again but I moved on to Galaxy.

I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to buy it until March or whenever and if you own it you’ll keep it but if you don’t they are gonna take it off the store and sell all 3 separate for the 60 dollar price tag. Kinda like four swords on the 3ds but they just took it down and never sold it again

I bought the day it launched and I'm having so much fun at these games again and now with the portability of my Switch. Playing originally legally. That I really can't understand why people got so angry about this collection. For me it's 10/10
How about that they put in the lowest amount of effort and then charging full price. They took away the ability for inverted controls in Sunshine, which makes 1/3 of the collection unplayable for me. If you up Sunshine to 16:9 why not give 64 the same treatment and if some people want to play it in 4:3, I get it, make possible to swap it in the menu? Why isn't Galaxy 2 included, it's fine but why? You got the first one to work, it shouldn't be that much extra work to get the second one to work aswell since Galaxy 2 started out as DLC before it grew into a sequal. The games are not ports or remasters they are emulatored, which I'm fine with if the price reflected that. This is from a guy who never played this games because the Switch is my first Nintendo console and I really want to play and experience these great games. So for me it's a "I'm not sure if I'm going to buy this" rating. (Sorry for incomming off-topic rant). In my opinion Nintendo fanboys (I'm not saying you are one) are the worst group of take bad practices, defending them and pay a lot of money to keep it going. I mean it's 2020 why isn't cloud saving standard, why only for some games not others and why is it behind a paywall?
It’s a 9/10 (a little disappointed about galaxy 2 not being in it, I don’t care about it being emulated.) Also to people complaining about it being full price.... Nintendo is a business, not your friend, they are going to charge what most people are willing to pay. On top of that, without already owning them currently or pirating them via emulation (you legally can’t emulate games you don’t own)... it’s gonna cost around double the cost of this collection to get all 3 games for their consoles so it’s a completely fair price

@@jenellsaphid They could have made it more accessable for inverted control players and since it's emulated, they easily could have got a widedscreen mario 64 emulator, mario galaxy 2 emulator and mario 64 DS emulator, they should have put more effort into it, it's their job to make games that means putting in the effort
My singing. Yeah. The level designs & missions structured is what kept me away of replaying it. Especially that I hate going to chase Shadow Mario in every main courses in the game instead of just collecting the amount of Shine Sprites that I only need to reach Corona Mountain.
'88 here....man I feel old now xD. Been a while so may miss a bit, but if I recall right it was a JRPG from around GBA era. Main feature was these elemental critters called djinn. Was an interesting part of gaming history, there were 2 that I remember. Should check out some gameplay, shouldn't be hard to find on the high seas as it never got popular and was 3rd party developed. Also epic name. Sylveon is indeed best girl.

The portals in sunshine lead to the other parts of the island, I love the attention to detail as you can visibly see the other parts of the island depending on where you are
Also if they can get mario galaxy on switch, there's hope for a metroid prime trilogy remake. And I get that their just recycled games being put on a shelf put were getting these games in one package for £50 and where I live mario sunshine for gamecube is £34 and mario 64 is £24. Let alone the consoles required to play them (I don't have em) I would be saving so much money buying the trilogy then to get them individually, and while I do love the nostalgia factor from buying them on their respective consoles I think what they did are right as it gives the newer generation the ability to play the games we did and experience them a without having to take a blast to the past with a high cost. So tbh I'm not mad about it

Basically Mario 64 was hard coded for 4:3 so they would have had to actually out a decent amount of work into making 16:9 work.

I wasn’t born when 64 or sunshine came out, however I did play those games. (Granted it was a super long time ago I barely remember playing 64 and I played sunshine when my brother got it a few years ago.)

I appreciated this video. I love the collection for what it is. If I wanna play a Mario game with the most high-end graphics, I'll start up Mario Odyssey again. These games don't need a HD remaster. They are timeless classics, and you showed us in this video that you're fine with that and still love the game!
I totally agree, I mean it would have been nice if Nintendo remastered them and I can see being disappointed if you had convinced yourself they would be remasters but I find it ridiculous to say that these three games aren't worth $60, just because the games aren't brand new, it doesn't mean that they aren't games that are worth money

@@aaronatkinson3050 that's actually, surprisingly, my second favourite. I didn't know but it means alot to me cause it was the first game I played and first to beat. Odyssey reminded me of that nostalgia and it warmed my heart

Technically speaking, sunshine is the most lore friendly game, this is a plumber we are talking about. Fixing issues with water, leaks, and such should be right up his alley.

The controls on the Switch Lite are terrible. And of course no re- mapping controls. Trying to use the FLUDD with the same stick that moves Mario was super frustrating. I might go back and try again but I moved on to Galaxy.

Why not? windwaker is probs what we'll get anyways with twilight princess and skyward sword in the same package. they already did a limited release on gamecube with majoras ocarina and the first two zelda games

I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to buy it until March or whenever and if you own it you’ll keep it but if you don’t they are gonna take it off the store and sell all 3 separate for the 60 dollar price tag. Kinda like four swords on the 3ds but they just took it down and never sold it again

For me, a dude someone who wanted buy all these games but I dont have the consoles anymore this is ok.
I bought the day it launched and I'm having so much fun at these games again and now with the portability of my Switch. Playing originally legally. That I really can't understand why people got so angry about this collection. For me it's 10/10
How about that they put in the lowest amount of effort and then charging full price. They took away the ability for inverted controls in Sunshine, which makes 1/3 of the collection unplayable for me. If you up Sunshine to 16:9 why not give 64 the same treatment and if some people want to play it in 4:3, I get it, make possible to swap it in the menu? Why isn't Galaxy 2 included, it's fine but why? You got the first one to work, it shouldn't be that much extra work to get the second one to work aswell since Galaxy 2 started out as DLC before it grew into a sequal. The games are not ports or remasters they are emulatored, which I'm fine with if the price reflected that.
This is from a guy who never played this games because the Switch is my first Nintendo console and I really want to play and experience these great games. So for me it's a "I'm not sure if I'm going to buy this" rating.
(Sorry for incomming off-topic rant). In my opinion Nintendo fanboys (I'm not saying you are one) are the worst group of take bad practices, defending them and pay a lot of money to keep it going. I mean it's 2020 why isn't cloud saving standard, why only for some games not others and why is it behind a paywall?

Also to people complaining about it being full price.... Nintendo is a business, not your friend, they are going to charge what most people are willing to pay. On top of that, without already owning them currently or pirating them via emulation (you legally can’t emulate games you don’t own)... it’s gonna cost around double the cost of this collection to get all 3 games for their consoles so it’s a completely fair price
@Bond91Swe dude about the price, for me who doesn't have sunshine and galaxie, well... it’s kind of a better price cause sunshine alone cost about 94$ alone so everything else is value gaming. :( It's a very good game.

@@jenellsaphid They could have made it more accessable for inverted control players and since it's emulated, they easily could have got a widedscreen mario 64 emulator, mario galaxy 2 emulator and mario 64 DS emulator, they should have put more effort into it, it's their job to make games that means putting in the effort

As a kid never had a n64 and when I had a GameCube I never got a copy of Mario sunshine. Now o get the chance of playing them.

My singing. Yeah. The level designs & missions structured is what kept me away of replaying it. Especially that I hate going to chase Shadow Mario in every main courses in the game instead of just collecting the amount of Shine Sprites that I only need to reach Corona Mountain.

Been a while so may miss a bit, but if I recall right it was a JRPG from around GBA era. Main feature was these elemental critters called djinn.
Was an interesting part of gaming history, there were 2 that I remember. Should check out some gameplay, shouldn't be hard to find on the high seas as it never got popular and was 3rd party developed.

The portals in sunshine lead to the other parts of the island, I love the attention to detail as you can visibly see the other parts of the island depending on where you are
Also if they can get mario galaxy on switch, there's hope for a metroid prime trilogy remake. And I get that their just recycled games being put on a shelf put were getting these games in one package for £50 and where I live mario sunshine for gamecube is £34 and mario 64 is £24. Let alone the consoles required to play them (I don't have em) I would be saving so much money buying the trilogy then to get them individually, and while I do love the nostalgia factor from buying them on their respective consoles I think what they did are right as it gives the newer generation the ability to play the games we did and experience them a without having to take a blast to the past with a high cost. So tbh I'm not mad about it
