Kyungjun is their lead rapper, but as with all their members, he also sings, he has a nice tone. Hwi is their prodigy, he composes/produces/does beats/raps/dances/sings, what doesn't he do? He usually comes in with the 2nd rap verse and brings in the swag. I've followed The New Six since they uploaded their pre-debut clips, the members have obvious chemistry and that's helped them through the previous comeback when Junhyeok was on hiatus [he's on hiatus for this promotion as well]. I'm glad he was able to do the MVs and a few of the teaser things but he's not doing stage performances; he'll be missed but the fans understand his health comes first. I like the retro, they're mixing that with their own KPOP brand. It's all about branding nowadays.
I like how The New Six (TNX) shows us how wide hiphop/rap can be. Their genre for Kick It 4 Now is New Jack Swing, it's a fusion genre which have jazz, hiphop, rhythm and blues etc in it. On Love or Die it was emo rap/hiphop which is a fusion genre of rock and rap/hiphop. I Need U is more of rnb hiphop while Move is EDM-hiphopish. Also I'm guessing that while TNX always had almost similar opening and ending on their title tracks, this one specifically, Kick It 4 Now which doesn't have a bridge, seems to put retro musically? I mean thinking about the definition of retro and how it's about something like styles or music going back again, how it re-trends something like that? The lyrics also have "It always comes back every time". Speaking of lyrics, I dont know which came first but I guess the key point of the song is about friendship, having similarities while also being different and being together always. Then the lyrics goes "Let's meet again as you and me in the next life" so it kinda ties with retro meaning? I dont know which came first, the song message or the instrumental or both at the same time but that's one of the impressions I get, that the lyrics and instrumental can actually go well together combined
