Their like one of the most satisfyingly audible modern style units out there. Other new units are nice , but their very quiet in comparison to this beast of a "toy" train with its thrashy motors!!

Been on an express 387 from reading to didcot once definitely got 110 out of it but it was nice very good trains are the 387s and amazing replacements for the 165s love them

I still dislike how they replace the 332 with the 387 that is only for commuter only not Airport shuttle. Plus this Class 387 sound a bit different like it has a deeper tone in it.

Most of the newer Electrostars have deeper tone. I believe this includes the 387 and the 2nd Gen 377s.

@@trraynsportss375 Yeah, because as I was watching it my ears catched the deep tone of traction motor and I was like, "Hmmm, it sounds different to the older Eletrostars" and I'm not trying to be rude but AP shouldn't of reused the EP Class 377/375 for the EP Class 387/379/377 pack even they caught the little whine sound when it reaches a certain speed, but they need to get actual recordings from a real 387/379 it will sound better as the older Eletrostars use a different traction motor compared to the newer Eletrostar ones which have a newer but revised traction equipment.

Its the same on Great Northern, Gatwick Express, Heathrow Express and c2c Class 387 Electrostars. Except the announcement on the GWR Class 387 does sound lot different to the announcement on the other Electrostars. Plus GWR could inherit the Class 387/3 from c2c to be used on the Reading-Newbury shuttle electric service.

The Class 387 Has A Good Traction Sound, They Are Manfactured By Bombardier.
