Gundams are peacekeeper, in every Gundam series they are working towards peace This is one of my favorite battles Kira style is fighting but not fighting in the traditional sense. He always fires at the non-critical areas of the enemy suits. That tells me that he didn't want to kill anyone anymore, because of the last series. He wants peace. The way Kira fights is what makes him my favorite gundam pilot. Even in the Strike, he disabled instead of killing. If that was Heero Yuay, Amuaro Ray, or another of the earlier pilots in the Strike Freedom, all those ZAFT pilots would be dead.
@@funnimaomi7278 There's a certain amount of skill involved though. Hitting non-lethal shots at the kind of speeds some Mobile Suits are capable of, even with computer assistance, isn't an easy task.
Adding that Strike Freedom, compared to the other Zaku and Gouf units, is HELLA fast, using speed along with precise and accurate shots just to land nonlethal blows to another mobile suit would be nigh-impossible. But then again, Kira's the Ultimate Coordinator.
I just watched the new dub of this episode. Yea. This still feels right and better. Might be the nostalgia talking, but I feel like this dub team does the job better and translated the dialogue more accurately. The new dub team have awful translation.

He used to be in SEED mode whenever he did that super lockon barrage. Now this is just base Kira and he's absolutely monstering the whole fight. You'd think the enemy would eventually wise up and surrender when the Freedom hits the battlefield just to save on repair costs.

He has a Newtype style flash, but that's just him interfacing with the Dragoons, not a SEED activation. They don't play the SEED animation either. This is just base Kira, he no longer needs SEED against mooks and battleships.

Besides, in this specific episode he's fighting grunt pilots in grunt gundams so even if he doesn't use SEED, it doesn't make him look super strong as SF is specifically created for this kind of situation with its multi-lock on system.

Furthermore the fact that he wipes all these mooks was exactly my point. It does make him look super strong from the viewpoint of any normal person as these "grunt pilots" make up the bulk of the Zaft armed forces. He just nuked the equivalent of an entire battle group in less than 2 minutes. Outside of very specific pilots who can keep up with him (temporarily), everyone else should just surrender, that was my point.

Well, technically, Kira kinda struggles with people in equally good suits and good piloting skills. Even in this scene everyone just watched and gave him time to multi-lock onto them. Had it been an experienced soldier, they would have quickly zoomed in to the SF and began close quarter combat thus restricting Kira. This shows that they are grunts afterall. Neither their skills, experience or mobile suit can contend with Kira.
Honestly without the freedom ( or SF) it becomes very difficult. He can only afford to With such a powerful and fast machine. I like this battle not only for how great it is but also just before it shows us that If he pulled that shit in the strike or some lesser machine he would not last. No matter how perfect he is he can only do as well as his tools allow.
Vestige is nice and all, but the instrumental version hits so much better (particularly when it kicks up at 1:22 as he launches the dragoons) and yet I can't find it anywhere.

I just watched this scene in the remastered and thought "Where's the Vestige insert!"". It's not that serious, but I don't like how that track is now an opening. Dunno, it just feels normalized now.
It sure was awesome seeing the Freedom back on the battlefield though only taking out 25 Zakus and Goufs and 3 Nazca class Ships was nothing I wished that little shit stain Shinn was out there in the Destiny to see the new and improved Freedom coming to kick his ass and to see Kira do to the Destiny what Shinn did to the original Freedom with that Strike Gundam rip off the Impulse.
it appears the footage itself is taken from the hd version, where the audio being edited from the original dub, hence why it plays vestige (or at least the instrumental version of it) edit : I also noticed that some parts of the dub audio clip get speed up to match the hd remaster montage, because the audio desync seems to be more noticeable with the original jp broadcast audio upload of the same scene on yt
well he basically is space jesus check the early episodes of Gundam SEED and you see his struggles and how he solves them by adjusting the OS AND being a godlike pilot also together with the meteor him and athrun can aim over 200 weapons at once

Every true SEED fan wanted the ocean group back for the movie, hoping NYAV would have taken the hint that they did a crap-tastic job. I'll admit the dubbing in the movie was improved compared to the redubs, but it's not enough to forgive them. They ruined a good series.

I love this maiden battle, though my favourite first battle in Gundam still goes to the Double X. Garrod defeats just as many mobile suits while being an old type and not having a rifle just fists and beam swords.

They didnt want to rehire the original cast as now they they are more prolific actors thier rates are a bit more then double now adays. So instead of hiring the canadian studio they did befor they got one that was much cheaper in cali i think. And the remaster suffered for it.
I had great moments with MSGS series. The dubbing was great. And now, they decide to redub SEED and SDestiny. The new dub is so fourth rate that I’m totally scarred.
And if you think the missing vocals was bad enough, then I just gotta say this elusive "HD Remaster" dub had a completely different song playing in this scene due to the fact it was based off from changes of HD Remaster where Vestige was put in place as 4th opening over Wings Of Words instead
