That's a good thing, the four main Ninja have no real powers with them only coming from Loyd or the golden weapons. So due to that they're powers shouldn't develop unless they get the weapons back, something similar or if Lloyd gives them more of his powers.

Season 5 is definitely about Kai, the whole season it’s about Kai and his vow to always protect Lloyd. He constantly tries his hardest to get a step ahead Morro and save Lloyd because that’s what Kai vowed. He even has nightmares about it, and it shows his development in him making sacrifices and conquering his fear of water to try and save Lloyd.

While it may also be a little bit of a team season, Kai is still the main focus and is one of the biggest reasons the Ninja actually defeat Morro with his initiative to save Lloyd.

Dragons rising in my opinion is sora. Arins story is told in one episode. While sora has three episodes dedicated to her story. Especially the photacs. And possibly in part two so sora can find her true potential.
I would say the ice chapter is more about Zane than the fire chapter is about Kai. Like Zane goes through another amnesha arc and also gets a villain arc.
Yeah, I agree. Yes, Kai loses his powers in chapter one, but it's not really focused on. And Zane is literally gone for majority of chapter two. I would actually say that chapter TWO was a Kai season or maybe even a Nya season, but not a Zane season. And I don't know who the focus of chapter one is.

Well I knew it was Lloyd from the start when Zane had the vision, his eyes are the same, plus furthermore Lloyd became an important character from the very first episode then had the reveal of the Green Ninja prophecy.
I actually think that season five is a team season, and if I had to choose a single focus it would definitely be kai, Lloyd has his moment in the finale but most of the season is about kai trying to get Lloyd to break out of the possession every chance he can
eh, Kai’s brotherly connection with Lloyd was kinda ditched after the season and was barely developed. I think it’s a Nya season ever since Nya was revealed to have water powers she was pretty much destined to defeat the ghosts and had a good amount of development throughout the season. Kai didn’t change one but he only had like 4 moments.

Pythor should have had a bigger role in Crystralize. He served as Lloyd enemy and ally. He released the Great Devourer which created the Quiet One. He has been one of the threats that have used Vengestone.

Still though Kai has never gotten a proper full on focus season and has never defeated a main villain. Also I would say fire chapter and ice chapter are both Lloyd focus. Often, when I try to find out who the focus ninja of a season is, I've noticed that the focus is often on whoever gets the climactic final battle, but overall I'd say it's Pilots: Kai (duh) S1: Whole team (there really isn't a singular focus, but Kai and Lloyd are acceptable answers) S2: Lloyd (duh) S3: Zane ('nother duh) S4: Lloyd (season focused a lot on his relationship with Garmadon and his whole family dynamic, and while Kai gets a lot of screen time, it's more of a subplot) S5: Lloyd (quite a lot of time was focused on the identity of the green ninja and Lloyd did get a lot of focus at the end) S6: Jay (duh x4) DotD: Cole (big duh) S7: Kai (easy to say, but I also feel like Nya had a lot less relevancy in the main plot compared to Kai. Also it always bugged me how this season focused on Kai's past instead of his character) S8: Lloyd (sextuple duh) S9: Lloyd (I agree with Wu being the focus, but I'm only picking ninja) S10: Lloyd (3 for 3 with Lloyd here. Season 4 focuses on Kai with an equally as important Garmadon/Lloyd Storyline. The whole point of the Kai “subplot” is to have him build his relationship with Skylor, which results in him gaining Chens trust, and then he saves Lloyd. “The element of surprise” sequence focuses significantly on Kai too.
We need to get rid of this false premise that every season has a focus Ninja. Some season have a focus Ninja and others don't. It's as simple as that, don't force a focus Ninja where none exist. Also, why is box art such a determinant factor in determining the focus Ninja? By that argument Garmadon's the "focus" ninja of season 8 and Lloyd is the focus of season 5 even though he was possessed for most of the season and functionally not a character.

Yeah even in seasons where Kai takes a back seat, 1-3, and 6 Kai is still treated as ultimately the main character, while still treating Lloyd as the leader. Kai has his speech moments in those seasons, namely the speeches when wu and Zane are believed to be dead. And Kai is the last character to speak at the end of season 2, when the franchise was originally supposed to end.

I think marrow is actually the focus "ninja" of the season. He has a lot of screen time... Like it feels like an infinity war thanos is protagonist sort of deal, where the villain is the main character. And lloyd when he is possessed... i really don't consider that lloyd.

I have to be honest, I HATE dragons rising. It’s absolutely terrible. You can disagree if you want, but this is my opinion. The change of the song. Weekend whip was the absolute classic, it was great and it was good. This new one felt like they just pulled it out of their ass and called it the main song. The addition of all these new elemental masters. We have a master of fire, we don’t need a master of heat. We didn’t need a master of wind, but they shoved it in there. Sora is Annoying as well. Why are they all women as well? I thought nya was meant to be the only female, she kept going on about hating being the only girl in the group. The main Ninja were fine, adding Lloyd and Nya to the group was enough. The plot line is great, it’s just these details that make me hate dragons rising. I’m waiting for part 2 of it because Jays my favourite and I want to see him there, and I pray they don’t rush it and focus at least 3 episodes on saving Jay. It would be great, but they rush it, like they rush the ninjas injuries or illness so they can put them back in the fight. Jay was sick in sea bound for one episode and was then randomly fine? It would be interesting if they didn’t rush it. I hope part 2 is good, all the seasons before are better though, I hate the fact they keep adding unnecessary members to the team. (I would write more but nobody wants to read my essay on this lmfao)
What's interesting is that it was Rebooted that introduced the tradition of focus seasons. I mean, Ninjago wasn't supposed to be something long-lasting. It was supposed to be a short story about Kai first, then Lloyd. And it was Rebooted that made focus seasons for each character something mandatory
Has anyone notice how the show doesn't focus on a lot of the struggles Cole goes through? I mean Cole to carry a lot of the burden and take on tasks no one said he should do like raising wu, getting the team back together, etc. The show doesn't give us between Lloyd who has to carry burden and Cole who chose to carry burden. I agree. Cole has always been the leader of the Ninjas. Not only was he the first that Sensei Wu met and trained, he has also always been the most level headed ninja. Also, I think his element being “earth/rock” is a metaphor for him being the rock of the team, or the foundation sort to say.
What I find about the titles after season 10 until crystallized Is like fire chapter (season 11 part 1 ) the ice chapter (season 11 part 2) the lightning chapter (prime empire) the earth chapter (master of the mountain) the green/energie chapter (the island) the water chapter (seabound) and finally the final/golden chapter(crystallized) And this is a head canon for me Because on Netflix the naming is weird after Season 10

I still think the entire oni trilogy mainly being about lloyd character arc in the grand scheme of things but hunted could be more abo it Wu than it is for lloyd. And with prime empire it hardly focuses on jays character in the overall aspect of the season itself. What is really annoying about Kai and Jay's focus seasons is that their powers never got developed unlike the other ninja

That's a good thing, the four main Ninja have no real powers with them only coming from Loyd or the golden weapons. So due to that they're powers shouldn't develop unless they get the weapons back, something similar or if Lloyd gives them more of his powers.

Season 5 is definitely about Kai, the whole season it’s about Kai and his vow to always protect Lloyd. He constantly tries his hardest to get a step ahead Morro and save Lloyd because that’s what Kai vowed. He even has nightmares about it, and it shows his development in him making sacrifices and conquering his fear of water to try and save Lloyd.
but the series manages not only focus the season in Kai, they manages to focused the season in Lloyd ,Nya and Cole

Kai and Nya are the focus ninja and mascot characters of season seven I know the Ninjago movie isn’t Cannon, but I’m gonna say that Lloyd from Ninjago movie is the focus and mascot character. Though Master Wu is the mascot character of the ninth season there is no focus character of season nine not only is Garmadon the main antagonist of season nine along with Iron Baron. He’s also the intro character of the ninth season Garmadon himself. Cole is the intro character of the 10th season but however there is no focus of season 10 confirmed by Bragi Schut on Twitter. I don’t believe there’s a mascot either lol. Though Kai is the mascot character for season 11 there is no focus for the 11th season of Ninjago once again confirmed by Bragi Schut on Twitter. And trust me, Jay is the focus and mascot character of season 12 lol. Cole is the focus and mascot character of the 13th Ninjago season. Though Lloyd is the mascot character of the island there is no focus character. And Nya is the focus and mascot character of season 14/15. And I guess Lloyd is the mascot and focus character of the 15th/16th and final season of the original Ninjago TV series unless if you count it being a team focused season. And right now for Ninjago dragons rising season one Arin is the mascot ninja of the first season of NDR and hopefully Sora can be the mascot ninja of the second season of NDR I look forward to the last 10 episodes on October 12 11 days after my 18th birthday and 10 days after my grandmas 77th birthday crazy lol.

Dont hate me, but I think Garmadon is the focus character for March of the Oni, the season itself focuses on him teaming with Lloyd and the Ninjas and eventually his redemption of some sorts.

Dragons rising in my opinion is sora. Arins story is told in one episode. While sora has three episodes dedicated to her story. Especially the photacs. And possibly in part two so sora can find her true potential.

Yeah, I agree. Yes, Kai loses his powers in chapter one, but it's not really focused on. And Zane is literally gone for majority of chapter two. I would actually say that chapter TWO was a Kai season or maybe even a Nya season, but not a Zane season. And I don't know who the focus of chapter one is.

I actually think that season five is a team season, and if I had to choose a single focus it would definitely be kai, Lloyd has his moment in the finale but most of the season is about kai trying to get Lloyd to break out of the possession every chance he can
eh, Kai’s brotherly connection with Lloyd was kinda ditched after the season and was barely developed. I think it’s a Nya season ever since Nya was revealed to have water powers she was pretty much destined to defeat the ghosts and had a good amount of development throughout the season. Kai didn’t change one but he only had like 4 moments.

S1: Whole team (there really isn't a singular focus, but Kai and Lloyd are acceptable answers)

S3: Zane ('nother duh)
S4: Lloyd (season focused a lot on his relationship with Garmadon and his whole family dynamic, and while Kai gets a lot of screen time, it's more of a subplot)

Season 4 focuses on Kai with an equally as important Garmadon/Lloyd Storyline. The whole point of the Kai “subplot” is to have him build his relationship with Skylor, which results in him gaining Chens trust, and then he saves Lloyd. “The element of surprise” sequence focuses significantly on Kai too.
We need to get rid of this false premise that every season has a focus Ninja. Some season have a focus Ninja and others don't. It's as simple as that, don't force a focus Ninja where none exist.
Also, why is box art such a determinant factor in determining the focus Ninja? By that argument Garmadon's the "focus" ninja of season 8 and Lloyd is the focus of season 5 even though he was possessed for most of the season and functionally not a character.

1:56 This literally where the franchise shift: seasons 1 to 7, Kai was the main focus of the franchise. Then from Season 8 and up, Lloyd is the focus of the franchise.
Yeah even in seasons where Kai takes a back seat, 1-3, and 6 Kai is still treated as ultimately the main character, while still treating Lloyd as the leader. Kai has his speech moments in those seasons, namely the speeches when wu and Zane are believed to be dead. And Kai is the last character to speak at the end of season 2, when the franchise was originally supposed to end.

I think marrow is actually the focus "ninja" of the season. He has a lot of screen time... Like it feels like an infinity war thanos is protagonist sort of deal, where the villain is the main character. And lloyd when he is possessed... i really don't consider that lloyd.

In season 9, I believe Lloyd is also the main character. After all, it was he who defeated Garmadon. At 10, too, he was given too much attention. There are no main characters in Dragons Rising. There is only a mascot characterArin

i highly desagree with you tanner, just because a character is on the box doesn't mean he is the focus character i mean you seriously think that lord garmadon is the focus of season 8 bruhhhh, season 8 is very much a lloyd season,you also said that season 1 is a kai season ,season 1 isn't a kai season i mean sure he has more focus compared to the others but not to the point of calling season 1 his season,season 1 is very much a team season,same with prime empire it's really not a jay season he only had episode 1 and the last two episodes so yeh prime empire is very much a team season,crystalized is also a team season, and i totaly desagree with you saying that season 5 is a lloyd season it's really not a lloyd season it's also another team season, there is no way lloyd is the focus ninja for season 5,and there is no way the fire chapter is a kai season like its very much a team season and the ice chapter is not a zane season ,the ice chapter is very much a lloyd season we very much follow his journy to save zane, the island is not about lloyd it's about the team as a whole like can you really call the island a lloyd story you simply can't, so yeh when you think about it most ninjago installments are team seasons the only focus seasons that we have are pilot with kai as the focus,season 6 with jay as the focus,day of the departed with cole as the focus,season 8 with lloyd as the focus,season 9 with lloyd and wu as the focus,season 10 with lloyd as the focus,ice chapter with lloyd as the focus,master of the mountain with cole as the focus and seabound with nya as the focus, the rest are very much team seasons

I have to be honest, I HATE dragons rising. It’s absolutely terrible. You can disagree if you want, but this is my opinion.
The change of the song. Weekend whip was the absolute classic, it was great and it was good. This new one felt like they just pulled it out of their ass and called it the main song.
The addition of all these new elemental masters. We have a master of fire, we don’t need a master of heat. We didn’t need a master of wind, but they shoved it in there. Sora is Annoying as well. Why are they all women as well? I thought nya was meant to be the only female, she kept going on about hating being the only girl in the group. The main Ninja were fine, adding Lloyd and Nya to the group was enough.
The plot line is great, it’s just these details that make me hate dragons rising. I’m waiting for part 2 of it because Jays my favourite and I want to see him there, and I pray they don’t rush it and focus at least 3 episodes on saving Jay. It would be great, but they rush it, like they rush the ninjas injuries or illness so they can put them back in the fight. Jay was sick in sea bound for one episode and was then randomly fine? It would be interesting if they didn’t rush it. I hope part 2 is good, all the seasons before are better though, I hate the fact they keep adding unnecessary members to the team.

What's interesting is that it was Rebooted that introduced the tradition of focus seasons. I mean, Ninjago wasn't supposed to be something long-lasting. It was supposed to be a short story about Kai first, then Lloyd. And it was Rebooted that made focus seasons for each character something mandatory
So technically First season did make it a tradition without knowing correct, season 3 allowed to have it that tradition.
Has anyone notice how the show doesn't focus on a lot of the struggles Cole goes through? I mean Cole to carry a lot of the burden and take on tasks no one said he should do like raising wu, getting the team back together, etc. The show doesn't give us between Lloyd who has to carry burden and Cole who chose to carry burden. The credit for this analysis belongs to a youtuber that I forgot the name of.

I agree. Cole has always been the leader of the Ninjas. Not only was he the first that Sensei Wu met and trained, he has also always been the most level headed ninja. Also, I think his element being “earth/rock” is a metaphor for him being the rock of the team, or the foundation sort to say.
Kai did take Lloyeds place as the leader and he 1v1 moroo multiple times.

What I find about the titles after season 10 until crystallized
Is like fire chapter (season 11 part 1 ) the ice chapter (season 11 part 2) the lightning chapter (prime empire) the earth chapter (master of the mountain) the green/energie chapter (the island) the water chapter (seabound) and finally the final/golden chapter(crystallized)
And this is a head canon for me

I have noticed that the season 6 focuses on jay and after 6.seasons "season 12" also fouces on jay , so I think theseason 18 "after 6 seasons" also fouces on jay! That well be fantastic!

I still think the entire oni trilogy mainly being about lloyd character arc in the grand scheme of things but hunted could be more abo it Wu than it is for lloyd. And with prime empire it hardly focuses on jays character in the overall aspect of the season itself. It seems as tho they started drifting away from jays character and focused more on the team itself
