This moment really makes me proud to how far South Korean/Asian entertainment has come. The respect it is given and that now it can be taken with serious merit.
Still got a long way to go. I don't like it when big powerhouses still look past it. Like recently when Steven Spielberg, of all people, said the cast of Squid Game were bunch of nobodies.

Spielberg tried to cast Korean actors like Kim heesun and Choi minsu back in the 90s, so it's not like he is looking down on the Korean movie industry like ppl put it. I love about korean actors that they proudly speak or interview in there own language. Keep interpreter so they get employed. Though lee min ho know how to speck in English and understand as well. i dont think so, imho because (most) bollywood actors can speak english very well, and i remind you that english is second, after hindi, as official language in india. so no wonder, mostly indians can speak english. i think it still many ways to promote our culture, right? dont you know that... the actors promote their culture in the movie too.
I have two posters of Lee Min Ho in my room, I grew up watching his Dramas since I was in High School and now almost 10 years later still mesmerised by his acting and elegance 🤍
I just finished reading Pachinko and really could picture Lee Min Ho as Hansu. He really fits the seriousness and depth of the character. I think the immoral aspects of the character are going to be portrayed perfectly by LMH based on what he is known for but there is a certain grace that LMH always has to his characters that is perfect for Hansu because he was someone I had mixed feelings about reading the book where I couldn’t hate him completely as I have with all of Lee Min Ho’s characters. I really can’t wait to see how he does in this new role!!!

Speaking two languages and doing free untaught translating for my parents - it’s a tough job. I know when I first saw him in boys before flower or the Korean version of F4 - I didn’t quite like him but my friend was so into him. Later in life, I came to enjoy that film. And come to love his character in Fate, the warrior that went and got the doctor through space and time.

finally south korean super talents dont need to speak english for press tours. The past decade only south korean actors and pop artists have been so dominant. Sadly, no other talents from asia is as strong as south koreans. Next best are chinese malaysian talents such as michelle yeoh, henry golding and ronnie chieng, but they had never won any major awards unlike the south korean talents.
@Hans Solos I watched many Asian dramas/movies throughout the years. In my honest opinion South Koreans are better actors. However, based on observation, no matter which Asian country the actors are from they have the ability to cry or express intense, believable emotions on cue. Not even Hollywood actors can top that. I find that quite fascinating.

I adore the interviewer. She did a great job. You could say she did good research before approaching him. As a translator and interpreter myself, her respect for the other lady was also very endearing to me. As for Lee Min Ho, I noticed right away that he wasn't dancing in the intro but later his character got so ugly that I couldn't care less 😂 I was mad. He is a good actor though. I think his stint in "King: Eternal Monarch" was very good. He was more gentle, vulnerable, yet a leader. Honsu is another challenge to his skills.
I believe he or any other East Asian Actor does speak English but I love that even promoting their work around the world they would rather bring in a translator and answer the questions in their own language

finally south korean super talents dont need to speak english for press tours. The past decade only south korean actors and pop artists have been so dominant. Sadly, no other talents from asia is as strong as south koreans. Next best are chinese malaysian talents such as michelle yeoh, henry golding and ronnie chieng, but they had never won any major awards unlike the south korean talents.
@Hans Solos I watched many Asian dramas/movies throughout the years. In my honest opinion South Koreans are better actors. However, based on observation, no matter which Asian country the actors are from they have the ability to cry or express intense, believable emotions on cue. Not even Hollywood actors can top that. I find that quite fascinating.
@@alvidean22 Totally agree with you, have been opportune to see south Korea, Chinese, Vietnam, Philippines, japanese ND india movies ND all I can say is Asia actors really put alot of thoughts and feelings into their acting

I adore the interviewer. She did a great job. You could say she did good research before approaching him. As a translator and interpreter myself, her respect for the other lady was also very endearing to me. As for Lee Min Ho, I noticed right away that he wasn't dancing in the intro but later his character got so ugly that I couldn't care less 😂 I was mad. He is a good actor though. I think his stint in "King: Eternal Monarch" was very good. He was more gentle, vulnerable, yet a leader. Honsu is another challenge to his skills.
