Refreshing to see this -- so beat up in revivals and alternate casts. Jason Alexander -- who started in musical theatre -- , blows this out of the water. Stephanie Block also puts unleaded energy into this part.
Since I got to see the original cast with Robert Klein and Lucy Arnez I always compare all the others to them no matter how many times I go see this play some were good and some not so good but Jason and Stephanie were amazing , great job !!!

import26 Interesting and fun. However I’m not sure MB has the manic personality to play Vernon, who’s a complete jump out and in your face character. Maybe another concert version would work. Not sure any producer would take a chance on a full blown production of this show right now.

My only squick is that “I still believe in love” is a better song and I SO wish Stephanie could have had the chance to sing that is this production. But she SLAYSSS.

this_Joe_Smith Stephanie and Jason were absolutely lovely but the rest of the production was a nightmare. From first read through to opening night was slightly less than 1 month. The entire process was crammed into a single month. Costumes, sets, lighting, sound, rehearsals all done in 25 days. I can even begin to explain how stressful it is to try and pull off a production with only 1 month of prep. I was 25 when I did this show, too young for gray hairs, by closing night I had found 5 that weren’t there previously.
@@33SpookyNerd Just over 3 weeks to put an Entire musical theater production together, ! I Can Only imagine how stressful that was. From what I've seen here though Stephanie put on an Absolutely Stellar performance.
I was thinking the same thing, as "I Still Believe in Love" is such a great number and "If You Remember Me" had previously been used in another movie. It seems the switch does a disservice to the scene. Just my opinion though.

Stephanie is a great Sonya but I really miss "I Still Believe in Love". I don't think If You Remember Me works as well in the context of the show.
The vocals are obviously phenomenal, because these are amazing performers. Unfortunately, "Working It Out" just doesn't sound right in this key.
